I am unable to download/update apps while screen is off. This is happening on both wife and 3g. I have verified wifi advanced settings and wifi is set to always on during sleep.
For ex. Suppose I have 4 apps which got update in play store. If I hit update all button the download will start but the rest of the apps stop updating as soon as the screen turns off. I have to keep my screen set to on to update all the apps. Does any one also has similar problem?
My mobile is on stock ICS and unrooted. Please help me.

I guess this can be attributed to your phone going in deep sleep mode but a little too early
Sent from my MB865 using xda premium
And when the screen turns on, do the updates resume?

It's a bit extreme but do a factory reset. There's nothing obviously wrong with your setup and you're all stock. I guess some bug has crept in due to some app you're using.
Go into wifi settings and then press the menu key. Go into advanced settings and set wifi on while sleep to always. Problem is wifi is turning off when your screen turns off. This will stop this from happening.

But the OP says he has already checked the advanced settings.
Maybe there is a Smartrule set that is turning off wifi when the screen goes off. Should check active Smartrules also.

I don't have any rules setup to turn off wifi...I am getting email alerts even when display is off. It seems to be problem with apps on updating.

Maybe you should take a look at your router. Settings, etc. Difficult to say what's causing the issue.
Are u using any battery saver app?

I don't think it is problem with my router settings..because it is working on other android devices (Nexus S and Galaxy Y) in my home.

I had this issue and as Jboxer mentioned it was indeed the advanced wifi sleep settings however in your case since all options are now tried out and you say the wifi sleep settings are also in place, best bet as Athani suggested would be to do a factory reset.

Title says it all... I will be using the phone and all of a sudden its vibrating like an app is force closing. I get no notification of something that has stopped working and at times it just randomly does it when I'm not doing anything. Also I can go to start up an app and the phone decides that it wants to restart for some reason.... the phone has not been rooted, dropped, anything... any thoughts?? BTW my Co worker has this issue as well

Google the following:
"Droid Explorer"
"logcat"
A logcat can tell you what is closing/crashing.
But what I'm mainly asking is if this is normal (to an extent) and what about the random restart when opening apps

Neither of those are normal. To figure out what, you'll need to get some debugging info (see above)
As to the random restart - does it restart just to the bootanimation, or all the way to the SAMSUNG power-on screen?

If that happens on a bone-stock non-rooted device, my instincts all say hardware failure. Take it in for warranty service.
Ok so maybe this will help... I do remember when I first got it putting a launcher on it. The next day I realized I didn't like it so I uninstalled it. Literally just now I got a fc notice on twlauncher, any thoughts on that???

And how do i keep it from coming up? It shows up randomly while plugged in and it goes to it everytime i hit the home button. Ive tried resetting all defaults on any launchers and any accuweather apps. The only way i can get rid of it is to either hit the back button all the way to the home screen or reset the phone

Ics has an option under settings. Display. Weather. To enable or disable this.

I think that is your dock screen. I had that problem with a powerskin battery. The phone thought it was in a dock. I replaced the powerskin and it went away.

i set it to 100gb but i think im just going to wipe the phone down to the stock image and go from their because i think something in my build.prop got messed up so yeah its really weird that i have the stupid notifaction in the first place because ive never seen it before. Also if i put it in airplane mode then reset the phone it doesnt show up until i take it out of airplane mode.
I have a weird issue sometimes my volume rocker will just randomly stop functioning on the home screen. Works when I open a app but when I go back to the home screen it stops working again. It's solved by a reboot but seems like a regular issue for my at the moment. Suggestions?

Are you rooted? Are you running a custom ROM/kernel?
Do you have any kind of gesture control app or feature installed that could be doing this? Are you using a launcher that may have disabled the rocker?
