Do you mean change the language used in the OS? If so, a factory reset takes one back to a point where one sets up a device from the get-go including location, language, name, etc. Have not heard of anyone able to use two languages on one device at the same time though.
Be careful though. If you are on ICS, I would drop back to HC first to lessen the chance of the super brickbug borking the tab.
HTH
errr... i dont even understand the question...

A factory reset would allow you to start over and choose a language. But only one language. There are translation apps for specific items (emails, documents, etc) but when it comes to the operating system...you only get one language.

Don't believe you can do that. One language at a time.

As far as i understand it, you can not have two set-up, but i may be wrong.
I am 99.99% sure you can have multiple languages on one device, it is selected in the Registry.
Just search for 0409 and see where it pops up, DefaultLCID I think is the one.
Remember to choose the correct language code:
Portuguese (Brazil) 0416
Portuguese (Portugal) 0816
You need to translate all mui-Files, the html-Files and don't forget software- and hardware-keyboard.
is there any specific software that enables the editing or just a simple unicode text editor will do?
To edit a dll i guess we need a tool like VS2005 or something. But here we can find the source to compile dll??Or maybe we could use a simple editor...
Anyone with experience in this area?
Thnx in advance
you could have searched before creating a new post.... actually it's even on the first page..

You can try for Custom Locale (I belive is in the market)
I tried, but it doesnt change the language of the system itself.
I want the whole phone UI changed to dutch language.
So i think i need to install some language pack (just like in windows or any other OS).
Thanks for help.
Then I don't know... I know there might be some file insdie the roms that allows you to use your language, but I don't know what file should be... Try to contact with a modder...
News
Any news on this?
Im looking for the same thing.
Download the app MoreLocale from Market
I didn't have any support for Danish language on the system itself, but that app fixed it for me
hi all.
My question is, is there a way to change an app language upon install.
I give an example:
l am portuguese and if i install imdb app it will install i Brazilian Portuguese, well Brazilian Portuguese isn't portuguese at all so i would want to be able to choose to install the english version wich i prefer.
Thanks in advance
P.S- I hope brazillian people dont fell ofended, nothing against them
Thanks in advance

have you tried to search for the english version over the market? if yes and couldn't find it...try to search for the application over the laptop for example "IMDB.apk" and when you download it, move it to your SD then enter the file manager and find your target then run it and it should get installed and run smoothly.
I think it is a combination of your supported device language and language of the app. You can try this app: "Set Locale and Language" by brucedior (note, I have never used it). But that is my best guess, sorry.
good Luck

getting the app to run in Arabic requires the app to be created in Arabic language and the phone to contain Arabic package.. the Apps market contains a lot of apps that run in different languages and 1 of these languages is Arabic... i downloaded several times apps that were created to run in Arabic language

have you checked the language menu under settings? if it does not have Thai in there, what phone is it? we can try to flash a custom rom on and it Cyanogenmod has a Huge selection of languages and im pretty sure thai would be in there.
Reply and thanks

No THAI language on ANY of the devices. Also I have a triple Sim phone, ( US - THAILAND - EMPTY cell numbers ) and am afraid to turn it into a brick. That's why I want to try the other devices first. Will research :fingers-crossed: your advice, Thanks
Hi.
I've recently bought an Acer Z5 in Netherlands.
Unfortuanelly, I did not check the language pack inside, because I've thought that every phone with Android is multilanguage, no matter where it was purchased.
The thing is that phone, does NOT have Polish language inside.
So, the system is in English, Russian, Netherlands etc.
I've trying to change soft to one from Thai countries but still no luck..
But, when doing backup of firmware, there is a file called system.img.
I've thought, if I find a "system.img" with Jelly Bean and Polish language pack, and overwrite my original file,
is there any chance to change that language with that way ?
I mean, If I flash to my phone JB "system.img" with Polish language, does it help ?
It is possible, anyway ?
I don't wanna brick my phone, so I've decide to ask first ;]
Maybe there is a easier way to do it ?
Any Ideas ?
Thanks in advance ;]
EDIT : Ok. I should ask Uncle Google first.
Set Locale and Language from Google Play.
Install, add, forget.
Way more easier than flashing entire system xD.
I'm leaving this post for futhure reference.
EDIT 02 : xD. Well....Problem still exist . Program does NOT work on Android 4.2... So, is there any way to add language pack into my smartphone ;] ?
