Porting app - Miscellaneous Android Development

I have a budget forecasting I've used on my itouch forever now as it's not available on Android and I doubt it ever will be. Is there a easy way to port it or someone that could help me?

[Q] new uses of our old O1, ideas and projects

Hi everyone!!!
Like some of you I bought a new phone, but my O1 stills in perfect conditions...
Considering its quite old and not of much monetary value (at least in my country) selling it is kind of hard.
So I was wondering if there's any alternative interesting use for my O1... Perhaps as a web server? Or a kind of joystick or remote?
This thread is to give ideas and suggestions about a new life/use for old O1s
***UPDATE***
This seems to be already a popular a the best option IMO http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2084746
At this point there's no release, but it's quite promising

Put it in a drawer and wait for Ubuntu, hope it works on an EXT partition...

Like someone else did here, use it just for navigation. Uninstall all useless apps make it barebone to have ultimate battery life with any froyo/gb rom.

I think I could that anyway with my new phone... The thing is to give it a new use, not just a smartphone with another OS...
Perhaps it would be interesting if I used ubuntu in my desktop and so there would be awesome functions I suppose

[Q] Android 4.3

Hi all, was just checking out the 4.3 features, at least what we know as of now, and I was wondering if anyone knows how long before we get it? CM10.2? Etc. I know it may not be alott different than 4.2 but I'm someone who always likes the latest even if its not worth it. I haven't been able to find any source information on it but if its on the One does that make it any easier to get to us? Any info would be appreciated

In case this caught anyone's eye and they were waiting for somebody to chime in I acquired Android 4.3's files, and I'm not sure it can be directly ported to our device, but I'm going to try to compile it with CM10.1 for our device, if anyone knows better about this stuff than I and want's the files or if I'm probably gonna blow up my phone trying this please stop me lol. If not then wish me luck.
Its useless for now..
Wait for the source..

I would start with any Java programming guide as well as Any linux beginners guide. You can find both at the local book store or library

This what I used to learn java and I can say ever thing he went over was covered in my java classes. Also you need to know your way around Linux.

Thoughts and suggestions

I have a website up currently called mydroidcentral.com. I'm looking for suggestions and help on making this better. Maybe change the whole platform. What does my droid community think I should do? Please no smart ass replies. Truly wanna make something that works in unison with XDA and sites alike.
