Also Nova doesn't want to work - phone keeps hanging and then says 'unfortunately Nova Launcher has stopped' - and there is no default music player (don't know if this is intentional) so I haven't had a chance to test awesome beats yet. Otherwise everything looks great!

Great ROM as always sir. TWLauncher was FC on me, and Nova didn't launch at all. Uninstalled Nova w/Titanium & then reinstalled Nova. All good now . By far my favorite ROM on Blaze 4G to date!

This is the best Rom around!!!! Many thanks, but what about WIFI TETHERING? Does this rom have to have the T-mobile Tether app? You need to pay extra to use this tethering app (Tethering upsell plan). What about the ICS generic tethering app? Can that be put in the rom? Possible???? btw, Foxfi, Barnacle and all the other tethering apps i've tried don't work at all with this T-mobile tehthering app installed.

Its not an aop, its imbedded in the framework... in ics you can take all the files out you want but they are monitoring your user agent. Search for it and there are tricks to get around the monitoring on their end

I see that you've removed the Dark Side wiper zip part of the instructions. I used it. Is that gonna be a problem? The only problem I'm having right now is when trying to reboot it hangs on the pink 'goodbye!' screen and I have to pull the battery.

I'm a noob so I can't "take stuff out" but I can tell you I uninstalled all 3 tethering apps i was trying (including Foxfi) adn reinstalled WiFi tether only and it worked. apparently the programming was crossing each other. ( I noticed that when I'd tun on the other Tethering Apps they'd all present themselves as "Foxfi"). So WIFI Tether works.

This us an issue with pics and an outdated recovery. Try wiping caches and fix permissions again manually

Restoring data can cause issues. Go ahead just keep in mind that may very well be the cause if you run into issues

You may notice the OP going through a makeover... As i've had some positive feedback and feel the need to start updating this ROM again. I'm unsure of the direction i want to go in with it, (adding stock ICS?, Keeping it more GB? flashable theme?) There's already an ICS type ROM out there (Thanks Marcusant), and wouldn't want to go doing something that someone else is\has already done.
The idea is that the ROM stays as close to stock, without taking too much from your Samsung experience, as possible.
I'm also not using the Epic as my daily driver anymore. I happen to have an extra unactivated device, and i'll continue work until I get a third phone, or Epic Development comes to a complete halt! (Unlikely, lol)

I like your approach. The other ROMs are so far from stock that I've started rolling my own (thanks to Decad3nce for the materials) with much the same approach that you have. Since I'm green, and haven't yet learned how to include some of the tweaks that you have, so I'm happy to fire up your ROM and gain from your work. Thank you!
One of the tricks that I picked up form ksmullins88, was moving some of the optional apks from system/apps to data/apps, which enables uses to remove them if they don't use them. I suggest to put optional apks such as titaniumbackup in /data/apps but also warn you that some apks such as musicplayer and videoplayer don't run from /data/apps. Requires one line in your update script. I can provide more detail if you're interested.
After I kick the tires, I'll let you know if I have any other suggestions. Again, thank you.

He does give credit to Juwe for some scripts, so i would imagine he's using some of Juwe's RAM tweaks... I haven't researched it much, though.
Just what I have been wanting! Downloading now and will report back. I have had reboots, so let's see if they continue after flashing this.
EDIT: Not sure if I am out of the loop on flashing ROMs, but shouldn't this be able to flash over the top of what I already have without completely resetting my phone? Or is that done for stability purposes?

Try going to manage applications -> email -> clear data
That should work...
The AOSP version is much better IMO, though.

A lot of roms are wiping the current one on the phone, and it is more stable once done. Never know what might be conflicting with the two roms.
There is a zip file around that can backup and restore data, but I haven't seen it in a while. Not saying it doesn't work, but I have had problems with it

Are kernel changes possible or just rom changes? If kernel, I'd like to see USB-OTG Hosting enabled so our SRs can recognize a USB flash drive and be able to read/write/transfer files. I think it involves changing a flag to "Y", but requires the kernel to be decompiled/recompiled which is above my pay grade!

Wanting to flash on my t989 but if I flash the modem and rom and rebooy I have no signal or data I even changed the apns and rebooted still didnt get any data or signal any ideas

I loaded this up last night. I was running SilverRom..
I wiped data, cache & dalvik
I did not format system
Flashed rom
Restored 19 user apps & data with TB
So far so good, seems very responsive, I use ADW launcher and it plays together very well. Battery seems much improved so far. I had 48% when I went to bed at 11 last night and still had 44 at 730AM!
I prefer minimal roms, so I can add what I WANT

The 14 toggle mod would be nice.
BTW...I'm on Straight Talk and I get 4G around 6-7mb, 24mb wifi, video camera works great, no bloat, me likey!

Kinda stuck, maybe you can help..
When I deodexed the ROM so i could add 14 toggle mod, I loose Market and APN settings and get no data. It happens after the deodexed and not even adding the toggle mod app/framework to the rom.
I also cant figure out how to get of that ATT Ready2GO crap

I got rid of all my ATT bloat by either just uninstalling from app manager or remounting /system as rw and deleting them from /system/app. I was able to get rid of all of the remaining ATT bloat. I did start from the rom and radio from cdshepherd's thread (1509978). Can't remember if I had to remove R2GO or if it was already removed. Anyhow most were removed when I remounted /system rw. I think there were only 2 that I was able to straight uninstall from app manager.

Theme looks good so far, however I would wipe your data before flashing it, as it boot looped me the first time but after a wipe and reflashing the deodexed rom, then tb's tmods, and then this with reboots in between it worked well.

And if you want to make it seem like you have jellybean with this theme you could edit the build.prop version to 4.2.1 I believe that's the newest version of android.

I think I know what causes the highlight when scrolling ill look at it today and see
The keyboard isn't supposed to be that small ill replace it with a better one in my next update
I haven't looked ur files yet but when that happened on my theme it was in colors.xml, the black=was changed to ics blue so any apk that called on android=black, it was blue.
Keyboard is usable don't get me wrong

I loved this theme only problem was it would sometimes lock up in the messaging screen. Also it would not ring and was very buggy when receiving phone calls. I am sorry I do not have a log to share, I'll work on trying to figure out how to get error logs. I really liked the theme though.

The theme seems to work fine, just very slow and laggy. I have not had any FC yet though and that is a good thing. I now have Groove IP on the phone and have it as a wifi backup.

It was pretty quick prior to install after install of theme it was not responding as fast. I did not do any addition debloat except to install eg04 deo.zip that is what was running prior theme.

Do you ha e tbs mods flashed on top? When I used this on my continuum it wasn't laggy and seemed to be very responsive. When I was running it I had the deflated and deo eg04 rom, then the mods for eg04 and then this flashed on top. Also upon install I wiped dalvic cache. Not sure if any of that may make a difference but it's worth a shot. You could also try wiping data in cwm and see if that helps.

superlite cm10, but soon will be superlite cm10.1 v2 which I will probably make/finish by the end of next week, mind you I don't mind tw based roms if its gutted,

i know ive asked you before, but i can't figure it out the download issue in the stock browser and i like the stock browser unfortunately...
i wouldn't ask for your help but i can't find any info and tried everything that i know.
maybe you can ask one of the dev that you know, i don't know what's missing from your slim rom that doesn't allow download in browser

Some applications such as Play Movies, Play Music, and My Files have not been removed yet so you can debloat it even more. SHealth among other features were left in ROM due to seeing people request for things to be left on.
Instructions:
I am NOT responsible for your device and if you do not flash properly or something goes wrong. This ROM has been tested on my own Retail S5 and has flashed just fine with no issues.
1: Download ROM and put on External SD card (or internal if it works for you)
2: Also Download SuperSU from HERE and put in same place you have the ROM zip
3: Reboot into SafeStrap Recovery and select ROM slot you want to install it on (Most likely on ROM slot 1)
4: Once in desired ROM slot, go to Wipe, and swipe to wipe (default wipe settings in SS should be good enough)
5: Go to main SS screen and press Install (Then navigate to the ROM zip and flash it, then flash SuperSU zip immediately after)
6: On first boot, you might get a Setup Wizard FC (Just press OK and don't worry about it as it will only appear once)

1: Turning location on automatically goes to off when you accept.
Fix:
After a few battery pulls it will allow you to turn it on. (I am searching as to why this happens. It might be something I removed)

i think i removed the accuweather widget but clock is there.. its pretty much all touchwiz except launcher is new android launcher.. you can always get the accuweather clock/widget from the play store

So is your goal here to debloat EVERYTHING? I've been waiting to see a ROM that has only the bare bones stuff needed to function.

yes.. but if this one works well maybe increase aospish look.. but ultimately ill use this to debloat all touchwiz.. xtre lite in unified thread is my inspiration.. his rom is less. than 600mb.. ive pmed him

Sounds awesome. And right up my alley. I like the asop look and don't mind a few mods that make things better. But I hate bloat. And yes, I consider S Health bloat

does this rom support the 4.44 dialer?
I HATE the touchwiz dialer /contacts app.
Not a bad start but a few bugs ....
1) Cannot turn on location settings. When you do and you get the screen to either ACCEPT or DECLINE the location reporting terms no matter what option you press location settings remain disabled.
2) Cannot hold the power button and reboot as you just get the phone locked up at the ANDROID splash screen
3) Not a bug but no ActiveSync support unless you flash the native email APK which I had to do to get my corporate email to work ...
Location settings is the big one ....

Got ya ... So then the only real issue here with this ROM is the location settings issue.

Well as a follow-up after 2 or 3 battery pulls I am now able to modify location settings.
