[Q] Comicrack crash - help needed - Asus Transformer TF700

Hi,
when I run Comicrack,it crashes on startup. After a bit of investigation it seems to be due to the ini file it creates on my sd card where my comic files are.
If I delete the file,it runs great but if I try to run it again after exiting, the prog will crash again. The only option is to delete the .ini file again.
Could someone whose is working send me their ini file or just post the content here please?
thanks

bump,,some help please from a fellow comicrack user

Corrupt File Names

Guys - I am new to this, so please be patient!
I have a problem with a load of corrupt file names in my IE temporary files folder. I have no way to delete them - going through PIE's 'Memory' option does not work, Total Commander cannot delete them, I even tried with a DOS command line utility.
The problem seems to be that the OS is unable to delete the files because the files have invalid characters in their name. I have tried moving / renaming them, but again it dont work!
The files also have peculiar dates (eg 01/03/1601), and appaerently huge sizes (3GB!).
Is there any other way I can delete them?
Any suggestions to fix this would be much appreciated.
Thanks

Edit exe to move picture reference ?

Hi guys,
I would need a help in editing an exe.
I'm trying to change the reference to the associed pictures. The app is supposed to be installed in the Windows folder so the reference to the pictures is hardcoded in the exe (ex: \Windows\CMP_Button_On_Mask.png).
I would like to move the app to the storage card in order to free up some memory. If I launch the exe from the Storage Card, it works but it still looks for the pictures in the Windows directory. I would like to be able to change the reference to something like "CMP_Button_On_Mask.png" instead of "\Windows\CMP_Button_On_Mask.png" to be able to put the pictures in the same folder than the application.
If I try to hexedit the exe and to manually change the reference (visible as .\.W.i.n.d.o.w.s.\.C.M.P._.B.u.t.t.o.n._.O.n._.M.a.s.k...p.n.g), it seems to corrupt it and I cannot launch it anymore on the device.
I tried to unsign/resign the file before/after editing but the result seems to be the same.
Please help !

If a moderator is around, maybe you could move my post to "Development and Hacking" it will probably get more success

[Completed] [Q] SAMSUNG SM-T805 just won't let edit files on SD

Just purchased my galaxy tab s. When I found out how it behaves with external memory rooted it at once, did the thing for read/write permissions, disabled this weird safety feature and... It does not alow editing files to any program which causes a big problem when I try to use "iGO" navigator for example which keeps its files on SD, or use some office program to edit any content on SD... It does alow creating and deleting files though.
Any ideas? Many thanks in advance!
Hi,
I see you've already asked about this in the appropriate section. Good! ?
XDA Assist is here to help navigate the site, not for support. And you've already found your way.
Thank you for understanding, thread closed.

Trying to convert apk to gpk

Hope this is ok to ask, I am hitting a brick wall..
I'll try and include as much detail as possible, so apologies if it's a bit long.
I am trying to convert apk to gpk - two apps in particular; MX Player and ES File Explorer
I have downloaded a tool with instructions from another forum using google translate from Burmese to English, but it's not perfect and still very hard to understand.
The name of the tool is GPKMaker.
From the instructions, I think I need the APK and the Data file folder from the same device that I am trying to install the gpk on. But I don't know how I would get the latter without installing it first..
I tried to use the MX Player Data folder
- com.mxtech.videoplayer.ad From another device to make the gpk.
I have attached a jpeg of instructions that also came with the tool (In Burmese - I can't translate).
From what I can make out, this is what I am required to have to make it work\install correctly:
(Using MX Player as the example)
FOLDER - MXPlayer with a subfolder and .ini file inside it
MXPlayer
game.ini
And inside the subfolder
MXPlayer.gpk
MXPlayer.png (Logo)
MXPlayer.xml
I have done that, and inside the game.ini file I have this written:
[MXPlayer]
package=com.mxtech.videoplayer.ad
version=1.7.40
Click to collapse
and inside the XML file I have this written:
<?xml version="1.0" ?>
<Files>
<item type="gpp" path="MXPlayer.apk" offset="0" size="9976082"></item>
</Files>
Click to collapse
I then place the main MXPlayer folder on the device I want to install it on, it appears and begins to install, but then stops and doesn't seem to go any further.
I'm guessing where I'm making the main mistake is the data folder.
But I can't find how or where I may get the correct folder from, would it have to be the same chipset? Or would the same cpu be sufficient?
I have tried the same steps above with the ES File Explorer and get the exact same results.
Hopefully someone can help me.
After searching extensively, I see GPK are also used for cracked/patching game files. But seems that would require the revers of what I am looking for.
As a result, there seems to be mutiple videos/links/programs for converting gpk to apk.
But no good to me, I want to convert into the file format everyone seems to be trying to get away from (typical)
Is this in the wrong subforum, or is nobody able to help?
I am really trying, but unfortunately getting nowhere.
Any reply may be helpful
[SOLVED] only if that's a real gpk file?
This is an easy fix.
That MXPlayer.gpk, is it a real .GPK file, not an .APK rename to a .gpk?
if it is a real .gpk, then you are not telling the device where the file is?
in your xml file you list MXPlayer.apk, but the file name is MXPlayer.gpk.
do that an you will the that it works.
(NOW) please tell me how did you convert an .APK file to a .GPK file, using that windows GPKMaker program?
please step-by-step.
Thanks.

Help with Currency Converter Small App ( com.sony.smallapp.currency)

Hey all,
This "small app" has recently become broken because the source for the currency file's URL has changed.
When the app is newly installed, it pops an error at first launch:
"Unable to download currency file. Please try again later".
It broke around mid-july 2018.
What I'm looking for is the latest available currency file so that the program can at least work (even if it can't update).
It should be located at:
Android/data/com.sony.smallapp.currency/files/
If someone could kindly .zip and upload the "files" folder here, it would be majorly helpful.
Thanks.
i think is that the data to work again
I think is the data to work..i hope work again

Thanks much for your reply stathis, sadly that doesn't fix it.
If your device is rooted, could you copy and upload the following folder as well:
/data/data/com.sony.smallapp.currency/
I believe something in the .xml changes when the soft has successfully downloaded the .csv file by itself.
Thank you.
This is only found ..i hope work

It worked finally!
Also while the app's internal update mechanism is broken, we can update manually, here is the most recent currency database file :
https://www4.bcb.gov.br/Download/fechamento/20180927.csv
Thank you again for your help!
Here's how to update manually:
1. Download the newest .csv file from: https://ptax.bcb.gov.br/ptax_internet/consultarTodasAsMoedas.do?method=consultaTodasMoedas
2. Delete the old .csv file and copy the new .csv file in:
Android/data/com.sony.smallapp.currency/files/
3. Disable WiFi, then launch Currency Converter app. It'll detect and use the newest .csv
4. Done!
