Force GPU Rendering - Asus Transformer TF700

Now that we have JB do we still need to select force GPU rendering and if so what are the benifits.

AFAIK that options was used only as a workaround to get Netflix working but lately users reported that Netflix is working fine now and you don't have to use that option anymore. Otherwise that option is better Off because it seems to slow down the device performance.

I would turn it off. While it may make some apps seem faster, it also causes other apps to do strange things and/or not run at all.
I even had some strange results just going to www.xda-developers.com site using the stock browser after enabling that option.
Leave it off in Jelly Bean.

It seems that my infinity is lagging some times, its inconsistent and I get "XXX is not responding"quite often and then close or wait, and when I connect the dock it happends even more often, and balanced mode seems to give better benchmark results than performance same story in games, this didn't happend on my prime but it did happend on tf300(I got the prime in February and returned it because the camera broke and I got the tf300 1 week Go and returned that as well for getting stuck really often)
This isn't so much a hardware problem but software look at Acer iconia tab a700 yes it is slower because of t30(infinity runs on t33) but it is consistent unlike the tf300 and 700 so Asus plz fix

There are believed to be I/O issues in the Infinity (and all Transformers for that matter). Using custom I/O scheduler after rooting seems to speed things up for those who did it, but doesn't remove the delays while installing apps etc. Actually, I believe this is pretty typical to Android devices, but I haven't used other high-end tablets, so can't compare with these.
My gnexus seemed to be fairly laggy on ics but jb seems to fix everything, and I don't seem t have any problems with multitasking

Well, I hope they shove JB out of the door soon, then. I love my TF700, but the I/O issues are a bit frustrating, since they actually lock up the device entirely. Hope they can patch it out, or that the ROM chefs in here can work their magic and kill the bug.
In reference to the OP statement about the Iconia A700's upposed fluidity: I've see several reviews chastizing the A700 for not being able to fluidly play HD video. The choppyness is clearly demonstrated in quite a few video reviews, as well. (I'm not saying that I/O is at fault in that case as well -- it might be the Tegra 3 chip having issues pushing all these pixels. Who will tell?)

The tf700 runs smoothly 1080p files, it may be because of the new t33, and you can see a major difference between the fluidity of the a700 and tf700

Confirmed. It is faster than Chrome, thanks for mentioning it! I've seen it in the Market before, but I thought that Chrome beats everything just as on PC. Couldn't have been more wrong. I had no idea that Chrome did not support H/W accel.! What a shame.

This is interesting, as it is said to be the other way around with the device's speed here (but perhaps, on the other hand, browser doesn't depend on I/O so much):

Have you tested any of these before and now?

Hmmm this seems rather odd to see ics crush jb but in jb I do get some really poor benchmarks, on antutu I get 3943 I get a lower score on the CPU compared to ics but that's fine because the os is much more polished
, there is literally no lag in the graphics I compared it to the iPhone 4s and iPad 3 and believe it or not jb is slightly smother in basic os operations and its also faster when opening apps oh and in vellamo I get ~1500 both on my tf700 and jelly beaned nexus which is quite impressive for a 8 month+ phone,
One more thing worth noticing is that on dolphin(tf700) I get I lower browsermark score compared to the stock browser,
But hey in the end those are just numbers and jb is a much smoother is that ics and dolphin runs in the tf700 better than stock
I may post a video just to show you how smooth jelly bean is

[Q] quadrant score

Hi, I am getting extremely low quadrant score. I am on stock rom but I think it wont affect score that much. So is this only my problem ?
(extremely low for what it should be, like 3500+ I think )
Edit: Antutu score is 7945

That's quite low. I'm running stock rom and getting 4592 without any tweaks.
I guess you could try stopping all running apps with something like the ASUS task manager, then give it another go.
Also turning off Force GPU Rendering in Developer Options helped a lot for the score as well.

S Pen Delay on some apps

I've been going through different apps for note taking to use at work and school.
Trying to decide the best one has been difficult. Some have a delay from the pen.
Here is a list of apps I've tried:
Papyrus - Very noticeable delay
S-Note - Very noticeable delay
Lecture Notes- Less Delay, but still there
Write - No delay at all
I've tried different zoom, but delay is still there.
Used multiview, and still delay persists.
Any tips on how I can get the other apps to work?
*Especially Papyrus (I would use it 100% of the time if it would work without this problem)
What I've notice that even though the SGNOTE 10.1's cpu and gpu are very good to a point, I tried a overclocking app called
Sent from my GT-N8013 using xda app-developers app tegrak overclock, when I raised my cpu from 1.4ghz to 1.654ghz went to the S note app tried it out the delay was not there will like .1 sec maybe but I did see improvement, so I think if Samsung would put a bit faster cpu in this thing it would be holding it's own on some apps very well
I had spen delay before, make sure that 2D rendering turned off in developer options

What tweaks do *you* have on your CROMi-X TF700

Hi guys,
just wanted to make this thread to see what tweaks you have on your CROMI-X based TF700, since I have just installed CROMI-X and I am curious what tweaks work and improve overal performance.
Not that I really think it's necessary because sdbags did one hell of a job here, but I am just really interested to see what you have done to make your TF700 more to your liking

I think you hit it on the head. @sbdags has already got ALL the known tricks in his ROM. He is diligent about finding new tweaks and incorporating any and all stable performance enhancements known so users don't have to "tweak" anything. As I understand it, its fully optimized and ready for the race track right out of the box. He's already planning to incorporate my multi-browser script if its not in there already. The warranty period is painful when talking about CROMIX. I can't wait to try it.

It is perfect to me too, but I can't stop reading about people who tweak it to the max with Pimp my Rom, System Tuner, etc.
And I was wondering: does that even still have effect? Because it seems like it could only do more harm than good, considering the default set-up by sdbags
The only thing that could make my tf700 more perfect is faster browsing. Don't know why, but sometimes it hangs (not only during downloads) and sometimes it's blazing fast. And it doesn't have anything to do with my wifi at home, because that is probably the best Internet connection you could get in my village lol
Think that Lucius Zens guide covers all tweaks really well. Have a look for it

Yea, he's already got my browser2ram script incorporated for 4 browsers (stock, naked, firefox, chrome). My final release is out with support for a total of 14 browsers (only if they are installed) with a unmount script available to unload them too so if you wanted you could run my unmount_all script then my autostart4 script to enable supporting 10 more browsers but the 4 you already have wouldn't be any faster.
Hangs you say? I've never had that happen on stock ROM. Maybe the browser is getting shut down by OOM due to lack of memory? You might want to check your OOM settings and possibly try increasing the content providers cache to between 96 and 192MB in System Tuner memory tweaks OOM tab using the aggressive or very aggressive presets but there are some more advanced users here on XDA that disagree with me (and System Tuner) on this tweak. If you do this don't set it in boot settings before you test drive the new settings or you could get yourself in a boot loop if it goes wrong. If it works out, then set it complete on boot to autoload the new settings. I'm running my own settings, somewhere in between aggressive and very aggressive on stock ROM with good performance and no issues.

Was wondering what Kernel everyone was using, and what is recommended? A few days ago I installed ChromiX 4.5 for the first time ever using a ROM. It works great, and im about to try upgrading to ChromiX 4.6.1. I used _that/ stock modded kernel variant based from ASUS Stock.
My other question is flashing a MOD of 4.6.1 over top of 4.5. Do i have to wipe my tablet and then install every app again? When I flashed 4.5, it was over stock and all my apps were saved when ChromiX loaded

You can dirty flash 4.6.1 over 4.5 - no problem there.
I personally think that _that's kernels are the most stable and that's what I'm looking for - no pun intended

I felt the same until this tablet. The xda community really makes android stand apart.
Also if you feel like you might want a bit more Max Kernel v3, is very stable for me giving me incredible speeds. Is just a simple flash via twrp, make a nandroid and try it?

Maxkernel runs well but I would not put it out there just yet as it is not liking 32 or 64 GB Micro SD cards and is tending to wiping them. The issue is being worked on though.

I've been using Hunds Kernal for a while and its great. Better yet is the options now to incorporate CPU/GPU Clocks of your own into the Asus Power Bar via his app. I like just a little bit more power especially on the GPU as needed and it provides that, as well has the Data2SD capabilities.

[Q] Application Seeder

Hello
I used lagfix premium for several months to overcome the lag despite installing Cromi-x, and recently I discovered the application "Seeder" I find is much more fluid tablet.
So I would like to know if anyone has used the application seeder on his tablet and what he thinks?
FYI, I am under Cromi-x 5.2.4 / _that V7
I have used seeder in the past and it does make a difference on our tf700s, but if you want even better performance uninstall seeder and us crossbreeder. crossbreeder is a flashable rom found at at thread here at xda. crossbreeder has a component like seeder, but better as well as many other performance enhansing components.

I have been using it and seem a little smoother but the speed is a bit slower with the seeder in use.. I believed that the binary random generator is not meant for the tf700t tablet..
In theory, our tf700t does not use the random available. However, it does seem to improve the smoothness in transition when it is in use...
