I have tried numerous times tonight to root my gt-p5113 and have failed every time. I go to download on my tab and in ODIN flash the recovery.tar.md5. Once done, I restart my tab into recovery, but the issue is, that it doesn't reboot into CWM, it reboots into stock recovery. Any idea what is going on and how to get my tab rooted?
Try using Odin again but uncheck autoreboot in its setting, after pass in odin reboot manual to recovery by volume up+ power then if question appear as fix recovery say yes
Another method flash stock 4.0.3 via odin and try rooting, this 4.0.3 does not overwrite recovery to stock again

Yes but try the first method before trying this !!!

I did after I read the same thing from another post. After I manually rebooted it never asked me to fix recovery.

I just tried to put 4.0.3 MD5 on my tab and now an error on my tablet occured and I have no way to get it into either recovery or to the download screen
and i only see 2 different 4.0.4 on samfirmware.com. I don't see any 4.0.3.
For the nordic countries there are only 4.0.4 and Android 2.3.6, i need the P5110XXBLH4 version :\
Any ideas anyone? I'm having the same problem as OP.

I rooted my friends tablet gt-p5113 with 4.0.4. I used a different work around method to get the root to stick. I got clock work on but I can't seem to flash any roms on his tablet. I tried using 3 different roms already and I keep getting the same message with Andy on his back and his front door open with a red triangle saying can not open package or some thing along those lines. Any ideas?
I think flash stock firmware from for example www.samfirmware.com then begin again from the beginning !!!

I'm kind of at loss. Would that mean that I would have to down grade to the 4.0.3. firmware?
The Tablet is already rooted. Using the method that you listed and using the latest clockwork mod file.
So may be try flashing another version of cwm as 6.0.1.0 or 6.0.1.2 or so via odin for example and make sure you are flashing right firmwares for your device specific model number
Make sure you have a proper root via app like root check basic and install supersu from market
Put the firmware in both internal and external sd and try flashing from both, may be one of them will work

I did install su. That's how I know I rooted it right. I'll try reflashing an updated firmware. Thanks for the help

Providing more info can get you better results, like rom /link, cwm version, procedures, this way others can help you diagnose your problem. A screen shot of"about tablet" is also very helpful.

Well I got the Odin to flash twrp 2.2.2.0 but I had to flash the 2.3.3.0 update because goo manager app would just get stuck and give me not responding error message. Basically finally got the damn thing working after multiple attempts. Sorry for waisting anybody's time.

Why goomanager or crap ?
in order to go back to fully stock, download the stock Rom from sammobile.com, extract it on your computer, connect your skyrocket after rebooting into download mode....uncheck everything from Odin just leave the auto reboot...Choose PDA and guide Odin to the tar location..and then hit go...
after it finishes, it'll reboot, let it settle down, then from the phone check for updates...it should find the ucli3 update...let it download then it will ask you to reboot..do like it says and wait for it to update...
note you'll lose EVERYTHING on your phone...backup everything before you proceed.you'll loose root and any custom recovery..Odin will just revert you phone like when when you took it out from its box when it was new...
and...do all that on your OWN risk !
Since upgrading to JB 4.1.2, I am not able to downgrade to ICS. After the flashing ICS via odin or for that matter mobile odin, is complete, it goes into a boot loop. Only way way out was again flash Jelly bean, it worked. Is there any firmware with full components like pda separate file, CSC separate file and phone separate file? I have heard that we need to flash these separate files via odin to downgrade. can anybody give a download link for the same?

you must go to stock ricovery ( with power + volum up ) and then wipe data
( your data are remove ( factory riset )
sorry for my bad ENGLISH
But I have heard that if one wipes factory reset through stock recovery, I am afraid one is liable to get bricked devices.

I would research the factory reset option. It shouldn't brick your device.

NO! Wipe data in STOCK recovery brick your device, but if you wipe in CWM you are safe.

Just to make it clear.. wiping from stock is Safe IF you are in HC or JB ( someone said its safe ) but a big NO in ICS because it causes the tab to be bricked.. wiping from CWM on all roms is SAFE.. pls.. get your facts right..

If you want to downgrade from official JB to official ICS, you have to have .pit file
You can search pit file for P6200 in XDA and using odin to flash official ICS with option re-partition checked
First time, when my friend downgrade without .pit file, tab got stuck at SS logo even wipe everything fully. With .pit file, it succeeded

No, just ICS Stock Rom with .pit file
P6200 pit file in this thread (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1667886) works fine
You can downgrade to HC, do wipes and flash ICS.
i usually do encounter this on my 7.7 when i flash hc from ics...what i did was wipe the device using cwm after flashing the older firmware to fix the bootloop...
my friend have tab 7 plus and i'm planning to flash jb on it...is the stock JB recovery free from the brickbug?

Did you check option re-partition in Odin?
By the way, stuck at SS logo is quite often happened if you did not wipe. You should try to perform full wipe.
There is an issue related to wipe using ICS stock recovery, you should use Odin to flash CWM recovery (without .pit file) and use CWM recovery to wipe.

I tried doing some research but with no luck. I wanted to ask if there is a way to flash a completely stock ROM I download straight from the Samsung site using maybe CWM or Odin. And how would I go on to have it rooted? I've just been having issues even with the stock debloated ROM available so I want to give this a try. Thanks in advance for any feedback and help

So first register at www.sammobile.com, then search SGH-T769 under firmware and download the August 2012 ICS or The Feb 2013 ICS Firmware, wait for the download to finish (took me 30 minutes) then extract which ever firmware zip you downloaded then using Odin click on PDA and select the .md5 file which is located in the extracted ICS Firmware Folder that you've downloaded from sammobile.com
Download the PIT file here
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1919228
Click on PIT in Odin and then select the one downloaded from the link above
then make sure re-partition isn't checked and start the flashing process after it is done flashing and reboots you'll have stock ics to root it simply follow the instructions over at the root ics stock thread found here
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1919228
This will flash a custom recovery and once the recovery is flashed using Odin reboot into recovery and flash the superuser.zip then you'll have Rooted Stock ICS Firmware
*BOOT LOOP MIGHT OCCUR*
To fix boot looping after flashing stock ICS just boot into stock or custom recovery and wipe data and cache then reboot and you're good to go.

The only thing I will add here is that you don't need the .pit file (it also eliminates the chance of accidental re-partition). Just use the .tar.md5 file as the pda and flash. Also, there isn't any chance of boot looping when flashing the file from the samfirmware site. First boot will take up to 10 minutes.

The PIT I wasn't sure if it was needed or not so I always used it just in case and actually I waited patiently and my phone did bootloop.

Not for ICS you don't. In fact, you only need the .pit for flashing CWM.
For rooting GB 2.3.x then you need the pit.

I don't think I understand correctly, but you can reboot tab (to download mode) and pc, and try again.
If it didn't work, try flashing a stock firmware and give it another try.
Go to sammobile.com and download a appropriate firmware.
