[Q] one S hboot 1.14 wont load OTA - General Questions and Answers

I'm a Noob with a problem. I believe this is what happen i updated the one s via OTA 1.84.531 gave me hboot 1.140004 and radio 1.08ts.50.02.16 then i decided to Root. when I rooted i flashed to a rom that apparently broke my wifi. I did not have a nandroid backup (epic FAIL) so i found the 1.53 stock nadroid on a forum inorder to unroot and flash RUU 1.53 which should re flash the One s to stock and fix wifi. After re locking boot loader and trying RUU 1.53.531 and 1.84 get error "155" from RUU, so i tried OTA, OTA downloaded but fails on install. what i believe i need is a non rooted 1.84.531 nandroid backup to match my baseband and hboot. because my radio is most recent and Hboot is 1.14.0004 havent been able to flash radios. Please HELP hope i was clear
HTC one S TMO US
stock non root-1.53.531.16 710RD
base-band 1.08ts.50.02.16_10.08e.50.04l
hboot-1.14.0004
[fixed] one step missing when i was trying to unroot with RUU I needed to flash STOCK RECOVERY before updating. didnt even have to OEM lock. after that OTA worked fine fully updated One s and most importantly fixed WIFI.

and do i need to flash the stock radio or it already comes with the rom?
now i see some people are having new update
my friend from tmous is testing a sensation with the update. he said it dont have 2.3.5+
that the update is just to have better battery life and gps lock faster.
ok i know i need to be stock and maybe not rooted to get this update, but im concern of losing my s-off root
and cant root back
1.29 Is the correct Ruu, after flashing, the phone will boot up then check for update. After you install the update you will be on 2.3.4.
You will loose root but keep s-off. Just reroot, it's easy once you have s-off.

The one you should run is the 1.29 and it already comes with the radio included.
You will loose recovery and root but will keep s-off and your phone will be 100% stock and ready to accept whatever updates are available.

the rom update utility cannot update your android phone.
please get the correct rom update utility and try again.
i download the RUU_Pyramid_TMOUS_1.29.531.2_Radio_10.42.9007.00P_ 10.11.9007.15_M_release_193714_signed
What are ROM do you have on your phone before running the RUU? Do you have a Nandroid backup from before you flashed something custom? I had a similar error occur when I tried to run the RUU when I was running one of the 1.78 leaks, I had to restore my Nandroid from before I flashed the 1.78 leak and then the RUU worked.
Can i just run the RUU.exe without doing the CID on adb? I just want to confirm because I have read on the other thread that I have to run CID on adb before i run the RUU.exe from my computer in order to revert back to stock tmous rom.
disregard ---------
So which is current 2.3.4 or 2.3.5?

[Q] is safe flashing stock GB RUU on a ICS ROM?

I'm on latest ICS 4.0.3 leak with new firmware and everything else.
I need to go back to stock cuz i need to send it.
Can i flash my stock GB RUU to come back to original situation?
Now don't quote me on this. It's safe to flash the stock firmware. Altho you are going to want to have your stock backup or a gingerbread Rom that is stock to flash immediately afterwards. 4.0.3 will not boot unless it has the 1.23, hboot. So you will go straight into the splash screen stuck mode after booting with new hboot. Besure you have something compatible with the new firmware before flashing on.ics.
Make sense?
My sensation was running newest firmware with 6.0.2 ICS. My recovery is 4Ext touch recovery. For whatever reason (flashing addict) I grabbed the TMOUS stock RUU and ran it.
At first the RUU gave me an error saying the phone had incompatible or bad recovery/partition. It then gave me the option to recover or repair the recovery/partition.
After that was done I had to close the RUU and re-open it. The RUU worked fine after that. My phone was put back to hboot 1.17.0008 with stock GB. HTC warranty ready.
so no problems here (of course there is some risk, every situation is different)
so is not a problem if the ICS firmware has changed the structure of the system partition?

How to flash new radio with hboot 1.13?

I know with Hboot 1.13, I can't flash radio in recovery. I've heard I've to do supercid or relock the phone to RUU or somethings like that?
Could ne1 kinda give me any information or links on how to do it step by step?
Thanks
1. Do that SuperCID thing
2. Go to Recovery, install the 1.74 ( I think ) RUU
Your phone will be re-locked now and be pretty much vanilla.
3. Install 2.12 Update
4. Unlock again
5. Have fun

I just found the relative thread of how to do supercid on One S. After doing supercid... I have to go to recovery mode and run the 1.78 RUU? and OTA to 2.21? After all, Unlock it again and root.
My Question is do I need to flash stock recovery, stock boot and relock bootloader myself before run the 1.78 RUU?
Did you try to root the 2.21 RUU?
After installing 2.21 RUU, I've unlocked my bootloader, reinstalled CWM recovery, rooted my phone (everything was on that thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1583427) and reinstalled my CM10 backup (without forgetting to flash boot.img via fastboot) and everything is OK!
Thanks everyone. I just successfully updated my radio with 2.21 RUU now. After that, I unlocked my bootloader again and install clockwork recovery and SU.
I just flashed trickdroid V7.1, everything works great. Actually, the procedure isn't difficult but extremely troublesome ... damn the HTC doesn't give us S-Off.
I don't remember, but will booting into recovery allow you to flash radio without flashing the ruu first. Don't know if cwr or twrp would be better for that. It worked on kernels, I believe, as the htc restrictions did not then apply.
It depends on your actual hboot, since 1.13 hboot you can't directly flash radio throught recovery and you have to install the latest RUU but if you are still on an older hboot you can flash the radio via CWM or TWRP (follow this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1684477).
I am familiar with that link and have used it. As I am on .06 hboot I have no issues flashing radios.
Was just trying to determine for others if that method would work on .13 and higher and why not. I personally am not 100% sure if it will or will not--
Since I have not seen any posts on doing that, it probably won't--not sure

delete please solved

hey whats up everyone i have a situation and tried quite a few solutions first off im running an s4 htc one s from tmobile it was running the 2.35 stock rooted 4.0.4 and 4.1 hboot 1.14 radio 1.08ts i changed my cid to htc __001 unrooted flashed stock recovery relocked and tried running RUU_Ville_U_ICS_40_S_HTC_Europe_2.31.401.5_Radio_1.06es.50.02.31_10.09a.50.04L_release_275655_signed i get error 130 model id error o i tried several other different ruus none of them have worked so i reflashed twrp and flashed 2.31 stock odex rooted zip from the general section and that flashed and everything works but wifi which i assume has something to do with the radios and or hboot. so i plug in internet pass through after flashing stock recovery back and run the check for software updates so i can upgrade the hboot and radios plus get jb it finds it it downloads it but once it goes to install it pops up a message we determine this is a modified system please instal original software or contact htc for help can anyone help me please my goal is to be stock rooted unbranded im not running tmobile anymore and was using google voice service as my phone and need wifi could someone help run through the process properly
so my question could someone that was on tmobile usa 2.35 changed cid to htc__001 and successfully run a euro ruu run me through what you did?
also are we able to change our MID the same way we change CID

Can't flash anyting to my One SV, help(I want to revert to stock)

Hello guys,
As you can see from the title I am in some deep trouble. The device I have is the HTC One SV 4G LTE. This is not my personal phone, a friend gave it to me to see if I could fix it. I got the device with S-OFF, SuperCID, rooted, I downgraded to HBOOT 1.01(or atleast I think I did it), I am using a stock deodexed 4.2.2 ROM(the one from old.splatterhand), Soft Number 3.11.401.1. The phone has a problem with the radio and you can't really talk because the only thing you hear is a robotic voice. My idea is that if I can revert it to the stock ICS software, kernel, firmware this would be fixed(my friend updated to JellyBean and this problem with the radio happened). He actually had some authorized services try to fix it but they only ended where I am now. I can't seem to install the ICS RUU because I get an Error 158(wrong image), now I get error 170(no connection). The only thing I can do is fiddle with the CID and flash a new recovery. Anything else gives me <remote notAllowed> in ADB. I tried the PL80IMG thing with the full rom from the RUU and the ones that were with some downgraded HBOOT but to no avail. I get wrong Model ID. Does anybody have any that does not involve selling the device for spare parts(or running over it with a hammer)?BTW the device is from Europe, Balkan region and it's now unbranded.
I managed to flash the stock 4.2.2 kernel and some stock recovery and boot IMGs but I can't seem to apply the OTA update. The baseband is that of the 4.0.4 ICS K2_UL and when I tried to install the corresponding RUU it says that the model ID is wrong... Any ideas?
Case closed. Extracted the firmware zip from the OTA, opened the android-info.txt and replaced with my CID, rezipped and flashed using RUU commands in ADB.
