[Resolved] Using livesuit under linux in a virtual machine running WinXP - General Questions and Answers

Hello everybody,
I could not find any other experiences so far so I'd like to confirm that if someone is trying to use livesuit under WinXP running in a virtual machine in Virtualbox it works perfectly.
Just connect the tablet and then enable the new USB device in Virtualbox, and Windows will pick it up.
The only thing to take care of is that when the tablet is connected, a new hardware wizard comes up. At this point you need to MANUALLY install the drivers in the wizard TWICE before livesuit picks up the tablet.
If someone is having trouble I'd be happy to help.

I'm trying to do this a WinXP virtual machine inside of Mac OS X. Managed to install the drivers once but, virtualbox drops it quickly from the list of usb devices before livesuit can ask me if I want to flash the img
Any help would be appreciated. Sorry if this is a MacOSX specific problem but wondering if you ran into the same problem.

Windows Crash when trying to use adb command

Hey, I need some help plz.
When I am trying to use the adb command with push/pull/install agruments Windows crash.
I installed the usb drivers and the USB debuging option is enabled in the G1.
I tried it on 2 diferent machines (Win XP and Win2k3).
Does anyone know why it happen and how can I fix this?
btw how can I make my linux box (Fedora 8) recognize the G1 in order to use the adb command from my linux machine?
I don't know what's causing your issue, but recently someone here (the person who made the x64 adb drivers, thanks by the way) posted a copy of adb.exe that was "fixed" for people who were having trouble with it crashing. I don't know if it'll help but give it a try and tell us the results.

I tried again to use adb but this time on brand new Win Xp with SP3 and it worked just fine.

[Q] Which version of windows is easiest to use android sdk on?

I would like to say that I am not a developer or anything. I am having problems using adb commands on my computer (windows 8). It is a problem with drivers and such that the computer doesn't recognize the phone when in recovery. The same setup works on my windows vista desktop. I know many people have problems with drivers working on windows 8 and i was just wondering what version of windows is the easiest to work with?

ASUS ME181C cannot connect ADB

I have an Asus ME181C with a BBY.xxx build. I have not been able to root the device. I did see that there is some knowledge that the BBY.xxx builds cannot be rooted for some reason. I am also not able to connect to my laptops (xp and win8.1) with ADB. My main concern now is the inability to connect. I downloaded the Android SDK to the win8.1 laptop but it is complaining about 64-bit. I will try downloading the SDK to the xp machine and try connecting to it. Does anyone have any knowledge of these issues with the BBY.xxx builds? It seems like the WW.xxx builds are able to be rooted and no problems connecting.
