Hi,
The thing is to flash mods using the same base as your ROM.
If you check my sig , I have battery mods for ARHD base 2.3.4 and 2.3.5
Check with your ROM'S dev,to see which base you are using, and then flash the appropriate mod.
ALWAYS MAKE A NANDROID BACKUP BEFORE YOU INSTALL A MOD
For beats I installed THIS MOD ,because I am on base 2.3.5 using Sense 3.5
Or you could install ARDH 3.6.3 XE which contains beats anyway.

You can install anything you want, you just have to know what it is you want to do. Lets say you want to have beats audio (using the previous posters example). You know you have a stock ROM, version 2.3.4 most likely, so just find a beats audio only mod for 2.3.4 bases running Sense 3.0.
Or, as the previous poser says, you can install a whole ROM that already includes it. ARHD basically simulates a Sensation XE by removing the under-clocking on the CPU thats there stock bringing it up to 1.5 Ghz, adding beats audio, and overall just smoothing out the ROM. It looks the same as the stock ROM, it just works better.
The best thing to do is just make a backup of how it is now through recovery, then try stuff out and see what you like. You can always restore your backup and it will be right back to how it was before you did anything.
~T.J.
EDIT: Saw you came from ARHD. Sorry to hear about the bad luck. But yes, you can install mods without a full ROM.

Yeah I did tried 3 of the most recent arhd Rom, it is smooth and fast but has too many glitches on my phone. I tried installing the recommended radio it does fixed my signal issue, but after 3 days of using my phone keeps goin on a black screen when somebody calls me or text me so I decided to revert to stock

Interesting. Did you try turning the CPU back down to 1.2 GHz? I have ran 3.6.1 and only had one reboot before I switched to the beta kernel, never had any issues with 3.6.2 which came with the same kernel I upgraded to with 3.6.1, but I switched to bricked 0.91 kernel and its even better. Tried 3.6.3 and had a bunch of FC problems and issues so I restored back to 3.6.2.
Basically they all have worked well for me, but I've read of some people needing to stay at 1.2 GHz because of problems you have described.

I haven't tried restoring to 1.2ghz , I just restored my phone back to stock I got tired of trying all the versions and seems all of the versions I flashed had issues on my phone, don't get me wrong but I do love the speed and smoothness of arhd its just those fcs, unstable signal and not to mention the black screen issue. But like you said I haven't tried using different kernel I just used the one that came with the Rom and the other faux kernel that one of xda member suggested the beta 10. I even tried the insertcoin 3.3.9 and same issue with signal. I'm on tmobile carrier I don't know if that causes the signal issue with most of the Rom I flashed.

Well, I'm on T-Mobile also and have had no issues, thats strange. Did you flash the recommended radio also? Maybe you need to try a different one if so.
I really like the Bricked kernel, it runs faster/smoother and the battery life is better than the Faux kernels I used - at least what I've seen so far. I run Sense 3.0 so Im limited to Bricked 0.91, but its still plenty good from what I've seen. He is developing more for Sense 3.5 kernels at this point I think.
Anyway, if it was me, I would try one of the ARHD ROMs with a bricked kernel (the kernel can also affect your reception I believe). If you still have issues, try clocking it back to 1.2 Ghz. I too ran IC for a little while, but finally just settled back to ARHD for a few reasons.

What arhd version you using and kerne so maybe I can try and use itl? I believe mike suggested to.flash it with the radio 10.58 which I did and it made my signal stable but few fcs and blackscreen so I reverted back to stock.

Currently running ARHD 3.6.2 with bricked 0.91 kernel at 1.5 GHz and the mods in my sig with whatever the recommended radio is in the ARHD thread. I have no issues and use it quite a bit every day. I might give 3.6.4 a shot though.

Hi,
Have you tried a custom ROM with the original radio?
I know it won't be matched,but sometimes it's a needs must situation.
Use the radio that will give you the BEST signal.
It might just be that it's the only one that will work properly in YOUR area.

Hi,
So,what combination of ROM and radio was the best for signal?
And with your current set-up,do you ALWAYS have bad signals?
Or does it vary from area to area?
does any one know where i can download the stock sensation xe kernel. i would love to try it on my sensation 4g. i know i can just flash bricks or fauxs kernal but i would just like to try the stock on from htc. and ive tried the revert to stock kernel that some of the roms include in the extra section but that just bring me back to the 1.2ghz kernel.
Anyone

Return to stock kernel means its flashing stock kernel
Here it is return to xe kernel
www.mediafire.com/?gqdp0p8kuw4fg23
that revert to stock xe zip didnt work. is there any one that just has the kernel as a flashable zip no revert zips.
Try this instead..

Will that work on Sensation (classic, not XE)?
this is a beats audio mod but one which is a direct port from the sensation XE. Many XE owners have been complaining that the beats v4 and runnymede port by baadnwz don't sound as good as the actual XE beats and I am in agreement with this so I got the files from the xe ROM and put them in a flashable zip file.

Beats Audio ICS - for Android ICS 4.0.3 ROM's ONLY
I had just started modding the HTCListen.apk of the ICS ROM's when i noticed that mudhi has already beaten me too it and so considering i dont have much spare time these days, i have decided to use his file as it is working well so all credits to mudhi for this one!
version 1: updated to ICS version and changed the Beast soundimage file to my prefered one (note: i cannot edit the libbeatsbass.so file because i dont have ROM source code so unfortunatly i havent been able to boost the bass), note - I take NO credits for the HTCListen.apk, srsfx_trumedia_51.cfg, srsfx_trumedia_movie.cfg and srsfx_trumedia_music.cfg music files as they are mudhi's modded ones so a big thank you to him
version 2: Added libbeatsbass.so from HTC Rezound ICS Leak for better base and also fixed the Beats Notifcation bug for non-xe user's (that is why the download is so big ) From now on, releases will be uploaded to my FTP Account (thanks to user zhenyu86 for providing me with it )

Beats Audio XE - Note, this is for android 2.3.5 sense 3.5 ROM's
Update version 2: has fully working loudness and bass of the XE beats with the original Dolby, SRS, and EQ settings of the original sensation without the Bluetooth problems
Update for version 3: definatly fixed the camcorder issue this time, tested with leedroid supersensational 4.2.1 and amaze cam v8. Many thanks to shnizlon for some of the lib and bin files which I used from his mod as mine seemed to break the camcorder.
version 3.5: added several lib files from the rezound beats for more bass, thanks to V6 and an anonymous sender
version 4: fixed the notification bug (thanks shnilzon) and added a louder beats config from the virtuous ROM
Version 5: I must have honestly done at least 100 reboots to try and get rid of some of the bugs and I hope I have done it though as I mentioned before, I cannot emulate the notification bug but hopefully this fixes it. Also added support for the RCmix ROMa and any other ROM that edits the services.jar file, the files for this are named RCmix Edition. Also replaced some files to give better sound quality, please guys let me know what you think
Is it compatible to all XE based roms like CoreDroid v.2.7?
is it possible to put in regural Sensation and how?
It is for all sensation and sensation ce owners who are using non-stock ROM's but who want the original and IMO best beats sound from the sensation xe.
To install it you must have a custom recovery like clockworkmod or 4EXT and all you have to do is install it through the recovery

Thought I would share this modified Miuiandroid.com sensation rom.
I am not a dev, just want to have some good miui roms out there, Blackwing already made a very nice Aosp rom and this is the Sense based with some modifications.
Yes its the Sense based Miui, I just modified it.
Its multi language and version 2.6.16.
Slimed down moving not needed trash + some apps...197mb instead of around 267mb.
Working Miui V4 Themes, also SMS, Phone and statusbar. Credit to a guy at chinesese forum, dont know the name in english.
No dissapearing icons after returning to homescreen.
All credit to Miuiandroid.com -> I just trimmed and edited it for my needs.
Running it right now with Sebastian Sense kernel. Flash at own risk though and so on.
Edit: the included in rom is stock sense kernel

You can install system tuner or kernel tuner to adjust cpu frequencies
Otherwise go to system->etc->init.d folder and go to 99kernel
There you will see how to overclock it

Either go with stock ROM (beats) and overclockable kernel.
Or use a ROM like vipers(beats). You can overclock in either.
