Greetings,
As the thread title says, I'm experiencing an issue where A2DP audio stops working when my HOX enters Car Mode. I'm running the stock (and, therefore, not rooted) 2.20 firmware, connecting to a Logitech S-00113 Wireless Speaker Adapter.
It works flawlessly when I'm not in Car Mode, so I don't necessarily think it's a hardware problem, but as soon as I enter Car Mode all the sound comes out of the phone speaker instead of streaming over Bluetooth. The behavior is consistent whether I'm using the stock HTC Car app or one of the third-party Car apps from the Play store. I'm not sure if it matters or not, but I'm not using the HTC or iBolt car dock - I'm launching Car Mode manually via an NFC tag.
Is there some setting somewhere that I'm overlooking? Or is this a bug with Car Mode? Any assistance/pointers would be appreciated.

I am looking for a quick and easy way to integrate my trinity with my car.
Currently I have have a generic car mount with charger. However, I find that TomTom and telephone calls over the speakers are too quiet.
I was thinking of installing a Parrot MK6000 in my car as a method to stream audio from my trinity to the car stereo whilst also acting as a car kit for hands free use while driving. Has anybody had any experience with wiring up this kit? is it easy for a moderate level electronics users (able to solder wires proficiently etc.) to wire up?
Alternatively does anybody know of other solutions to integrate the trinity with the car stereo?
Hello:
I installed this hands free in my car, and it works really fine as a hands free. The audio streaming works well too, but the sound is quite methalic. With tomtom, there is a delay in the sound, the first word it says, for example "...Turn on the left in...." you listen "...urn on the left in ..." and it hanpens allways when tomtom starts to talk.
My OS version is wm5 and I read that wm6 solves this problem.
I recently bought a LG LAC7700R (carstereo with bluetooth and cd/mp3/wma player, with a seperate mic you can place somewhere in your car) works good, up to 5 phones can connect, last six called contacts it will remember. no phonebook in carstereo. Carstereo mutes automaticly by incoming call. You can even use BT audiostream.
i have always BT on, on my phone, it will connect by itself with the carstereo.
works fine for me.
now i am looking for a nice phoneholder with only a charger.

I have a similar setup, with the Sony MEX-BT2500 instead.
However I did not manage to route the Tomtom or iGO sound over the BT A2DP stream.
As a charging holder I have the Brodit Cradle installed.

check this, maybe it will help:
goto bt settings in your phone and activate bluetooth stereo on. that's the thing for play mp3's and navigationvoices over BT. The handsfree mode is for phone voice. (leave that on!)
does sony support a2dp ? maybe that's the problem.

Actually I bought the Sony because it supports A2DP. And with MortPlayer it works flawless when listening music. With activated Bluetooth Stereo (Headphone Symbol in top bar) Tomtom still uses the internal speaker.
Hi,
Yesterday, I installed a new car stereo and after a lot of frustration installing it, I was happily surprised the A2DP worked by default, just paired my touch pro with my stereo, start playing in wmp and it comes through my stereo system. However during the day I started looking for another player to use (during my breaks of course ) and installed pocket music player bundle ( I don't know if it has anything to do with my problem, just trying to include as much info as I can ). In the evening I enabled bluetooth of my phone again, I think I also had the headphone logo, but when trying to play using pocket music player and wmp, it always just used the speaker of the phone and didn't seem to send anything through A2DP.
Any idea how this can be? Is there a setting somewhere to change what audio is used (A2DP/Speaker/ whatever...)?
TIA!
OK, this seems to have been quite stupid.
Haven't been in my car since, but same behaviour with my logitech a2dp bluetooth headset.
Going into bluetooth settings, "right click" on logi_stereoV01 and "instellen als draadloos stereo" (set-up as wireless stereo) did the trick, probably the same for my CAR--BT,sorry for the stupid post.
Although it would be nice if the touch pro would automatically set the detected bluetooth device as wireless stereo every time, just as it seems to do for setting it headset when in range while turning on the bluetooth.
Sorry for the strange sentences... it was a long day
same problem
i just bought a bluetooth receiver for the car.
it fits in the lighter place and transmits via FM to the car radio.
My htc connected staight away (no code required to me) with the new "car Kit" found, but whatever i try i always have the sound from the htc speaker...
How can i solve this?
Thanx in advace.
Apparently one cannot use a bluetooth earpiece while the Nexus One is in the Car Dock.
This I find rather annoying because my phone is not mounted very close to the driver seat, and I find callers always saying they can't hear me.
Can anyone here figure out a way to get a bluetooth earpiece to work while in the dock?

Tho I haven't tried it with an ear piece, the following combinations seem to work fine for me when in the car dock:
Phone / Media connected to bluetooth CD player in truck
Phone connected to bluetooth cd player and Media connected to car dock
Phone connected to sony LiveView device via bluetooth.
This is all while the phone is sitting in my dock, so I'm not sure why you would not be able to?
Are you on a stock or custom rom?
Well my car doesn't have a bluetooth receiver, so I use the car dock to play the navigation prompts.
Whenever I put my phone into the dock, it unpairs my Jawbone Earpiece and won't let me re-pair it unless I unpair the dock.
Would be nice if I could pair both.

Maybe try changing it so that the dock is only pairing Media (long press car dock in bluetooth settings and click options and uncheck phone) and the jawbone is only pairing Phone.
Not sure if stock roms support dual profiles or whatever to pair with multiple devices at once, but Cyanogenmod does, at least, because I have mine paired to my dock and my receiver at the same time every day.
Also, not sure if this matters but I use dock nothingness (free app) to make my phone NOT launch the car dock app, and then dockcarswitches (another free app) to turn on/off my bluetooth when it's put in and out of the car dock.
I'll try that out tomorrow. Thanks for the advice though. Didn't think to actually set that up the way you did. Silly me.
Are there any car docks for Desire yet that provide charging and audio aux out, just by docking i.e. not manually connecting jack plug to headphone socket.
Found quite a few threads saying it isn't possible, but they are fairly old - surely this must be possible by now?
If not, I guess using a parrot bluetooth device would seem to be my next option for music from desire to car?
Any other suggestions?
Thanks
It isn't possible.
It is a car issue. Obviously you'd need something to integrate the AUX/Power to the dock, so the dock can then work with the phone. This would involve either, still connecting the dock to AUX/Power manually with cords (defeating the purpose), or hacking into your dash.

Afaik there are not any interfaces for the Desire.
I bought a Parrot MKi9200 for my car and it's just perfect!
Bluetooth car kit that syncs all your contacts and you have them on the display
Sd Card input
Aux(mini jack), USB and Ipod/Iphone input cables
Music over BT (A2DP)
It even mutes music or radio to give navigation directions or to let you know if you have an sms, etc

With my Samsung Captivate, simply using their car power adapter triggers car dock mode. This doesn't seem to work with SR. Anyone has any clue on how to trigger car dock mode? I'm looking for this as I had my Captivate programmed to do certain thing when in the car via Tasker. Now, the only way for me to do this is to always turn on bluetooth when powered to see if it connects to my car's handfree kit. So bluetooth is turned on even when at home or work. Not very desirable. So it would be great if something can trigger the car dock mode.
