[TOOL] MD5 Checker for windows - Android General

I completely rewrote this. From scratch. I get the MD5 myself and everything, no more relying on third application. Follow installer and right click on something then click "send to" you will see "Check MD5" and then it will open a window with the md5 file, it may take awhile depending on how large the file is.
MD5: AB2DC2FB16827AFFAC48211E1675D265
Microsoft .NET Framework 3.5 or greater required.

Thanks, just what I was looking for

I always wondered how a microsoft fanatic like myself could check the MD5 hash of my downloaded ROMs and CWM zips to ensure i am getting every last byte.
Well i googled and found this nifty tool but i found it a drag to have to open a command window EVERY single time to check the numerous files i download.
So i created a batch file to do it for me
However, this is more than JUST a batch file, this is a full blown installer that will install the program listed above and my batch file as well as a SendTo shortcut so now you dont even need to click on a second program or icon to check the md5....

Awesome Awesome. Love it. However, Right-Click -> Send To seems to give me this error:
Code:
'md5sum' is not recognized as an internal or external command,
operable program or batch file.

Very interesting. I apologize for it not working properly but I do ask to standby as I will be releasing an updated one with gui interface

Thanks for this awesome utility!...checking has never been easier or quicker. Part of the reason people skip checking MD5 is because of the nuisance it can be, but this tool makes it easy to play it safe before installing any files.

Works great BUT...
Did you forget to update your MD5 when you fixed your file??? Sum does not match the file downloaded. But program works flawlessly Thanks.

I updated the OP guys. Works perfectly now.

MD5 Alternative/Rar unzip

Hey so I found this great program called tugzip that not only unzips rar files but also checks updates to make sure they will work. After you download updates, themes open tugzip then go to actions, test. If no errors are found then your good to go. If error is found redownload. Works every time for me without having to run checksum and best part is its free. Just wanted to pass the tip along if anyone is interested in something like this.

[TOOL]Radio Switcher v."GUI 4.1" More secure than ever! [Win/Linux/Mac]

Hi everyone, this is a tool for easier switching of the radio, spl and recovery of a 32A Magic. Now written in Java!
Requirements:
Fully charged phone!
Engineering SPL! Get one here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=529019&highlight=hboot+collection
NOTE: If the program says that you DO NOT have root it means that you DO NOT have an Engineering SPL! (S-OFF)
Now a powerful program with a GUI that has several options.
The program allows you to flash the provided files, or select custom ones!
You may also erase the system, data and cache partitions, on demand or as part of the flashing process.
You may now watch the progress on your mobile and on the PC!
NEW! Able to erase partitions AND restore nandroid backups!
N.B! DO NOT RENAME OR TOUCH ANY FILES THAT YOU RECEIVE WITH THE PACKAGE! There is no need for you to mess with it because there are options for flashing CUSTOM files. (the ones you select)
HOW-TO:
1. Extract RadioSwitchGUI_v4.rar anywhere you like, but do not touch anything inside its folder.
2. Boot your phone into fastboot.
3. Connect it to your PC via USB.
Windows:
4. Run RadioSwitcherAPP.jar or WinRun.bat and select one of the options.
5. Enjoy the app.
Linux:
N.B Don't double click on the jar file. It will not load the folder options correct! Use the provided LinuxRun.sh!!!
4. Right click on LinuxRun.sh and choose "Properties".
5. Click on the "Permissions" tab.
6. Click on "Allow executing file as program" and enable it. If it is allready enabled then leave it!
7. Click "Close".8.Double click on LinuxRun.sh and choose "Run".
8. Enjoy the app.
Warning! The procedure involves RISK, by downloading the files you agree that YOU are to be held responsible in case of any damage.
WITH THE PROVIDED FILES IT CAN ONLY BE USED FOR THE OLD 32A MAGIC (W/O 3.5MM JACK)!!!
You can use custom files to use it for flashing ANY device though!
THIS PROGRAM WILL (by default) ERASE YOUR SYSTEM AND DATA PARTITIONS!
This program will NOT create a nandroid backup that you can revert to later, so do it manually.
I hope someone will find it usefull!
Enjoy!
I wish to thank
KOZE for testing the Mac version and providing the mac version of the fastboot program!
BIG thanks to mumilover who wrote the wonderful Java version!
Amon_RA for the recovery images.

N.B: PLEASE DOWNLOAD THE CORRESPONDING .MD5 FILE AND CHECK FOR CORRUPTION BEFORE PROCEEDING (Win only, linux has it integrated)
Great idea
Awesome idea, I like it, just a little concerning for noobs if a file is renamed as NEW instead of OLD it could cause a brick and vise versa
For those using this please follow the instructions provided carefully, and rename the correct readio/SPL to the correct names, Yes I know sounds simple enough.
Awesome work, might give it a try to revert to old radio to try the latest cyanogenmod ROM
and just wanted to suggest to include the Radio/SPL file combo's in the download to create a full package and simplify things even further.
I did include them all in the download link (I've made it more clear in the OP) The reason why i also provided just the batch file is cause some people might prefer using their own radio/spl/recovery combo
BTW, the new Cyanogen is simply amazing. It is as fast as 1.6/1.5! I'm currently running it...
Very useful but it returns me an error:
"CHOICE: invalid choice switch syntax. Expected form: /C[:] choices"
and then asks for installing the NEW radio
What's wrong ?
Did you press either 1 or 2 and NOTHING else?
I've tested it again, if i press any other number the computer beeps. You can only select 1 or 2.
The options work fine for me.
/c[:] "choice" sets from which values you can choose. in this case its 1 or 2
It just start with the error as soon as i run it, no menu and no way to choose between the two option even pushing 1 (or 2) while starting the batch.
I guess you have Vista/7; it must be something wrong with XP, I will let you know....
yes, i wrote it under win7...but it has to be compatible.
try downloading it again...
ill make a version in xp later today if you cant get it to work
I've tested it on other machines running XP with the same result, and works as it should on the only PC running Vista I have at the office.
ah ah, it's kind of amazing, it's the first time Vista does something better than XP ;-)
I think it depends on the different choice files in the two system (choice.com in XP - choice.exe in Vista)
Don't worry about me, I will revert to old radio step by step (I'm just courious to try the new Cyanogen 5 since the Hero update to 2.1 is still late)
Anyway, it will be a very useful tool for many people, so I hope you to succeed in get it working in XP too (of course if other people has the same errors in XP).
Thank you eyegor
SOLVED
choice.com (XP) and choice.exe (Vista) have different syntax (poor MS customers). I've made some testing and found:
Vista (as in your batch): CHOICE /N /C 12 /M "Press "1" for the OLD radio, or "2" for the NEW radio"
to get it working in XP must be translated to:
CHOICE /N /C12 "Press 1 for the OLD radio, or 2 for the NEW radio"
and, yes, this is sooo stupid IMHO ......... blame MS once again
Ill provide an xp version later today...or tomorrow if i dont succeed today..

The only problem is that I need to translate the batch from spanish to english...

As you did the thread first, I don't want to take the credit of it ^^...
Hi eyegor
I have made little modification to this batch files. Here are my version (Radio_Switcher_tomme45i.zip includes XP and standard version) - added few commands and fully translated to Polish lang.

you are GENIUS workig just like that
Where you drop them? Is md4 and sha1 next? Nice one mate!
New version uploaded, added comparison, and recursive comparison with clipboard
EDIT: Fixed bugs, reuploaded, enjoy!
Nice work mate! Only you should use some less boring animation during md5 calc Works great!
We've been waiting for this for sometime, thanks.
Thanks for the hard work, and i am appreciative. is this used to check the MD5SUM post downloading a ROM or flash-able .zip, or to verify the md5sum prior to publicly posting a ROM or flash-able .zip If it is used for verifying downloads, what is the difference between this and using the
Code:
# md5sum /mnt/sdcard/[file_name].zip
from within the adb shell?

Drag'n'MD5 it's a software originally made to get ANY file MD5, but last release also have MD5 check, that means you can use for check downloaded zip MD5, or pre-check MD5 for publishing a zip.
The difference with adb shell it's that you can drag & drop ANY file, and get its MD5, based on substrings, and file digest.
*Note* Any it's on caps, because it's not specifically designed for get Zip's MD5.

D4.

I'm sorry but you're wrong, spanish syntax it's very different to portuguese, so it's not easy for me. Also would be more work, because I forgot to use multilanguage settings, and I did release 2 versions as you can see. So portuguese will be 3 versions. Just use English or spanish version.
Cheers.
I'm trying to use this software and when I drag a zip file into the "drag and Drop Here" I get the Circle with a line through it, and nothing happens.
I made sure to run it as and administrator on my pc, and I have windows 7 x64 version. 8 gig of ram, and a quad core processor.
The zip file is from Prime_v1.8.2.zip from the Transformer Dev Roach2010.
Although I just tried dragging a few txt files, and those don't work either.

first of all, thank you for this, it looks great! However, I am unable to encode anything. I get a sound effect as soon as i click encode decoded directory and the progress bar moves at an incredibly slow pace. is it doing what it's supposed to do? I let it sit for 15 minutes and nothing ever happened.
How big is the apk? And whats your cpu speed?
the app size is 5mb and my cpu is an i5 clocked at 2.3ghz. the odd thing to me is that it doesn't seem to try to encode the apk at all. when the decode finishes, a chime goes off. that same chime sounds within half a second of my trying to encode the same app. The decode works perfectly though!

What it sounds is that you dont have java recognised as a program. I will fix that when I log on Windows again.

Hey, I just downloaded android suite, but seems that the zip is damaged.
The folders from the zip created, but no files and I get errors from winrar like this:
Unknown method in bin\apktool.jar
No files to extract.
I' ll try to download it again, but can you please check it?
EDIT:
Redownload it 5 times, same errors. Archive is damaged, shows that is 36,3MB, but need less than a second to complete download(which is wrong for sure).
unzip it with Winzip, winrar cant extract it.

I'll get right on it.
Must of been the compression method, also try with 7-zip.
Right, re-uploaded with 0 compression, the archive shouldnt cause trouble now.
I'm actually unable to even get the download to start. I get an error when I click the link from google saying they can't find the requested link. I've tried 5 times.
Somehow the link had been replaced by "*****"

What exactly is in the archive that requires us to download 113mb? To decompile and recompile and apk all you need is:
Java - Already on my system
aapt.exe - Already on my system
apktool.jar - Already on my system
Command Prompt - Well duh, part of windows.
Could you provide screenshots of the application?

It's got the Java binaries in the directory.
as some people dont have the "java.exe" patj, it fails to load it.
I will add some screenshots later, and I shall update it later, I just need to do more testing on Java findings...
personally I'm good to go. A simple scan with an anti-virus is all I need to ensure it's legit. I have a backup so I'll take the OP's word for it. Also, no need to apologize for "problems" IMO, I have no idea how to decompile/recompile or sign an apk so even if there are bugs, you're still doing me (and a lot of others) a favor. Thanks for all of the work you've put in so far!
Screenshot of AndroidSuite2012
so, every time I try to close the .exe, a web browser opens that takes me to ad.fly.... not sure what that's about. I don't know what the link was for, so I closed it and didn't click anything. Also, the utility still doesn't seem to be able to recode the apk. the error message I received is in a .txt file attached to the link below. I didn't want to post this whole thing inline.
http://www.box.com/s/yoaxly1na5mjqhjralca
sorry, double post
I see the problem..
I will start to work on the fix later today...
Also I will test better java detection reducing the archive about 70 or so megabytes...
Sorry for the bulk archive it was just a temporary solution...
Thank you again for posting error log.

Great work. Exactly what I needed. Only if it worked with 64bit excel.
Will see if I can get it to work. But need time. Awefully busy.
EDIT Added PtrSafe attribute to Declare statetements and seems to pass that error. Now when I say go, I get two popups: One to clear initially exported files, and two to FTP upload. But nothing happens then. Is FTP a must?
EDIT2: Something happens. I get an output with 2228KB size that only contains the META INF directory.
