[Q] SynergyRom JB Beta v2 (Verizon) - Receiving Software Update message - Verizon Samsung Galaxy S III

Long time lurker, first time posting.
I've been running SynergyRom JB v2 Beta (Verizon - clean install) for several days with very few issues. This morning I noticed a manual software update awaiting download (I obviously won't be installing it), but wanted to know if others are receiving this as well.
I tried posting this under ☆ ★ | ROM | SynergyROM VZW S3 | ICS 4.0.4 | Fully Optimized | NIGHTLIES |★ ☆, but was not allowed since I haven't posted at least 10 times.
Thanks!

Happens with all jelly ROMs. Should be looking for an option that says " later ". Good luck!

Thanks gowansta, I appreciate the feedback. Hadn't seen it before on the ROM and wanted to be sure it wasn't something abnormal.

[Q] Voice Dialer STILL not working on android 4.2.2

Words fails me. I am so disgusted I have ran out of expletives so I won't bother repeating them here. Seriously...voice dialer is STILL not working! This update was specifically designed to fix this bug and it is still not working. I just can't understand what is so hard about putting back in functionality that was working before in ICS and was necessary.
This is the sort of thing that gets people to switch over irrevocably to apple. This has been going on for like a year now. It is starting to feel like it is being done on purpose for God knows what reason. Does it work for anyone else?

What update? This phone is officially on 4.1.1 . You are not guaranteed anything by running custom software.

Fair enough. Although I never said I was guaranteed anything and apparently we are also not guaranteed to have important functionality (aka voice dialer) to work from one official release to the next. It worked fine when I had ICS it just broke when I was upgraded to JB. I would prefer not to have to root my phone to get it work, but if I waited for the official channels then I will likely have to wait until I get my next phone for a fix.
Both Google and AOKP mentioned that bluetooth issues were fixed with 4.2.2 and I was inquiring whether this worked for others as it did not work for me. Neither 4.1.1, nor 4.1.2 nor 4.2.1 nor 4.2.2 nor any of the other little hacks others have tried have worked and I know others on the official release of 4.2.2 for Nexus had similar problems so I was hoping someone might have run across a solution.
I know I sounded snarky, but I am just really frustrated.
So I do not know if this will help you but I had pacman rom and the dialer wasn't working so I reflashed, no wiping and it fixed it.
Also there is always the option of going back to the stable TW roms. Which is what I did. You can't be mad for things not running smooth when you're running custom roms that make no claims of stability.

Thanks for the info, it was definitely worth a try. Alas the pacman rom did not do the trick. I had the official JB TW update and that is what broke my phone in the first place and I am not really interested in going back to ICS since I got the new phone so I can get Jelly Bean. I have also tried CleamROM and the the latest CM, AOKP and liquidSmooth 4.2.2 along with the just released gapps-jb-130301-signed.zip. No dice.
I'll keep banging away and let everyone know if I find a solution with other ROMs or tweaks.
I am not mad about custom ROMs not working properly I am mad about the official release breaking critical functionality for me.
I tried PK and PA ROMs in addition to aready mentioned. Voice dial does not work in any of them. I also tried Ktoonsez kernel - no dice. I think it's a major JB problem and there won't be any working ROM until Google fixes the issue. I just stopped trying :crying: ...

[Q] Update app and other questions

Hi Guys, I am a NOOB here so pleeeeease dont scream at me, treat me gently
okay so I took to plunge to root my Sensation
all went really well thanks to all the things I have read on here,
I installed the rom:
CM10.1 AOSP 4.2.2 Jellybean [KANG] [April-26]
I understand this version is a nightly rom and may have some issues,
My Camera doesn't show anything but a blank screen with a few icons on it, then it comes up with gallery not responding then camera is not working, can kinda live with that as I have installed CameraMX which seems to work,
My question is I have seen a few apps which will show / tell you if a new nightly rom has been released, can you tell me what is the best app to use with [ROM] CM10.1 AOSP 4.2.2 Jellybean [KANG] [April-26]. I note that some apps say things like
"if you have just imported in CyanDelta a zip that you didn’t downloaded from get.cm, it’s almost certainly a unofficial CyanogenMod build that is not supported by CyanDelta."
any help would be great and sorry if it has already been covered else where
thanks
Dai
Newbie alert,
I see there is now a newer version of
[ROM] CM10.1 AOSP 4.2.2 Jellybean [KANG] [May-1]
I am currently running April-26
so how / what is the easiest way to upgrade to May-1
sorry for the daft question
Dai

https://carbonrom.org/ is having issues
Hello,
I'm getting HTTP 404 while browsing https://carbonrom.org/.
What's happening?
Thanks
Disabling NFC
Greetings,
I've been experimenting with different ROMs. This week I've been using CarbonROM on HTC One XL (evita), HTC One (m7), and LG Google Nexus 5 (hammerhead). On all three, there is an option under "Wireless & Networks" to turn OFF NFC by deselecting a check box.
The only problem is, whenever I come back to this screen, the checkbox has been re-selected. (My changes do not persist.).
Weird.
One the evita, NFC has drained the battery down 20% in 3 hours with the phone in a standby condition.
Is this a known bug? Or am I doing something wrong?
Any suggestions would be appreciated.
Cheers,
dakota
Pandora
For some reason on the nightlies past late september, I cannot get pandora working. It will play one song (or less) and then load up the next album art, etc., and then doesn't play music. It sits there while I scream at it to play. Does anyone else have this issue? Pandora is my one source of music and I can't keep going back out and in pandora to get the next song for 3 hour trips! Any help is appreciated!
So today I got notified of a new nightly update. I was scared to do it at first, seeing the 5.0 sources being available n stuff.. but then I thought, this is way too soon. But, that got me thinking: when carbon gets updated to 5.0, will it be ok to do what I always do, using the updater and just dirty flash the next nightly over the other? If yes, will there be a special notification saying this is the 5.0 update? Because now I got a gapps file and elementalx kernel in the auto flash folder, and if there's a whole new Android, those files will most likely break everything.
No I'm not asking when 5.0 is getting merged, just what's best to do when it happens. @CarbonDev

Lol...no when 5.0 is out you will have to do a complete clean wipe and will not be notified through the delta system about it. Old gapps and kernels most likely also wont work on the new 5.0 either.

I stopped updating the rom when it changed base to CM, but today I finally decided to give it a try. Now I'm getting some performance issues and I think it might be because of the kernel.
My question is: is kernel part of the nandroid backup?
I have a nandroid backup of my pre-update rom and I want to be able to switch back to it without any issues.
Thanks in advance.
Hello everybody, is there an official final release of this ROM?
Another question, are there among the features DSB, Shake Events, Multi window and Proximity wake up support?
Any plans to add long press nav bar shortcuts??
I popped my cherry.....
After 30 or so years on this planet, I've just lost my virginity to a ROM called carbon... My custom rom flashing virginity that is.
Thanks for this smooth ROM @CarbonDev - you've brought new life to my N5

Noob question...
Hello,
I´ve been following the Android Revolution thread hoping for a kitkat update.
Now that it´s here I have a few questions:
- In the first post of the thread, Mike specified the improvements of this ROM over the stock ROM. What are the improvements now? If there are the same improvements its great and if there´s more it´s even better!
- About the install process: do we need a specific recovery? Wipes? It would be great to have a detailed guide.
Anyway, you are doing a great job. :good:
Thank you!
Hello, mike! I used you awesome ROM (10.1) a whole year and it was great experience!
I'm using your new (test, 4.4) firmware and so far it's working fine.
My tablet was: Galaxy Note 10.1 N8000 (3g&Wi Fi), HighonAndroid CWM (ancient version), Android HD revolution 10.1 (4.1).
Update:
1) Flash stock 4.4.2 with ODIN.
2) Install philz_touch_6.48.4-n8000.tar.md5 (Philz Recovery) - ODIN
3) Wipe data/factory reset (not sure if required, done just in case)
4) Flash Android RHD with Philz.
EDIT: Installation from Samsung Apps fail with "0" error.
I hope this hasn't been answered before but my tablet just started reading out the homescreen and appdrawer pages, which is pretty annoying I checked the settings but nothing is on and i don't know how to fix this before i reflash and this happens again, I just wanna know if there is a fix
merry christmas everyone by the way
touch problem :ss
Im sory I'm an idiot but when I flash the rom (using TWRP) the touch didn't work so I couldn't chose "I agree with lisence...." and the flashing couldn't be continued. Did anyone have the same problem? Do I have to flash anything before the RHD?
stuck at the battery page when charging with the off device
Recently just find out that whenever i charge the device when it is out of battery, then it will stuck at the battery page. Any solution to solve this problem?
Thanks in advance.
Hello.
I was using Revolution HD 11.2 on my n8000 and i liked it. So thats why i wanted to test kitkat revolution.
What i did:
1) Flashed stock kitkat from sam firmware via odin 3.09
2) Rebooted and checked if wifi works. Everything OK.
3) Flashed TWRP 2.8.4.0 from their site via odin.
4) Flashed ARHD 21.0 via recovery, but i had that strange half-screen issue in aroma.
Now my n8000 is with ARHD 21.0 on board and there is no issues so far. Thank you Mike.
MB this could help someone.

Google Play login problem
First of all I would like to thank the ROM, but I'm having trouble logging in google play. I tried to clear the cache, reinstalled again and nothing.
This error appears >>> it was not possible to login - There was a problem communicating with Google servers. Try again later
I used the google translator, I apologize.
Hi,
I can not find this rom 4.1.2 version.
Wifi and Aroma problem
Hi Mike,
I have tried to install your latest rom on my GT-N8000 with TWRP recovery.
AROMA installer looks very silly on the screen and can't use touch gestures during install only the buttons wich is very hard to use.
The other biggest problem is that after booting the device I can not switch on the wifi adapter. I switched on the wifi button but after couple of sec it is turn of again. What can be wrong?
Resolve WiFi Trouble
For resolve WiFi trouble, try to install bootloader: "flash_BL_ND5" (google.com).
I do, and all is fine.
N8010 Combatability Pack Issues
Hi Guys,
Would love some help please.
Installation of ARHD21 seems to install fine on my N8010. When booting up, wifi does not work (because of no sim card entered). I also have the pop up of "Unfortunately, Google Play Services Has Stopped" every couple of seconds.
I have then tried to load the comparability pack and it installs via aroma ok, but does not boot up. When switching on, I get the "Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 " screen and that is it.
Have looked through the many posts but cannot seem to see a solution. How do I fix this?
Thanks in advance.
I have an n8010. Tried the patches and everything. wifi does not work

Can't revert to stock from beanstalk 4.4 on my sgh-t599n?

Ok, I found something a while back about another file needing to be flashed in order to get back to stock 4.1.2 but I have since not been able to find it again. I have been running beanstalk for a while now on my galaxy exhibit (sgh-t599n) but every time I try to flash tyson's pre-rooted stock rom, I get caught in a bootloop. I am running twrp 2.7 (or whatever the most up to date one is that ends in .7 lol....can't remember). What I read before is that there is something pertaining to the params that needs to be flashed first before reverting but I've since lost that page and haven't been able to pin down the correct thread for a while now. I'm hoping someone can just explain to me what the issue is so that I can get back to stock. I'd like to have that option available and maybe try carbon or vanir. Please hit me back guys. Thanks a million.
