I like samsung but i really hate that they release a thousand models in a series, which is very confusing for average customers.
I want to buy a galaxy tab that that has 3g connection. I found 2 models online, which are GT-P75xx and GT-P51xx. What is the differences between them? From what i've seen, P51xx model receives a lot more support in xda.
Thanks

if it is better for gaming 7500 (Tegra 2), but if not then it is a bit newer 5100 .. although the game is also on it will go bad
sorry for my english
You're comparing the Galaxy Tab and Galaxy Tab 2. Specs are relatively the same between the two devices, but the original will be better for gaming with the Tegra chip. I believe the original may also have a slightly better screen, but otherwise, they are fairly similar. The P5100 will probably be supported longer though since it was released about six months ago compared to over a year ago for the original tablet.
If you want 3g tab2 so only two models:
3100 7 inches
5100 10 inches
The 7xxx is tab1 not two

What the title says. It seems to be very similar to the EEE, but it's lighter and does 3G. What's everyone's take? I'm having trouble deciding whether to get this or the Transformer.
They are similar. The galaxy tab is lighter smaller and thinner. It also may come with a different SoC then Tegra 2. I forget the name. Something similar to the Galaxy S2 and will probably be DiVX certified with better video playback support.
It does not have a dock, it does have a touchwiz skin.
Touchwiz kills it for me, that and $100 more and June release.

I have the Transformer and I'm lovin' it, but I'm waiting to see what Samsung comes up with. I'm intersted in both tabs that they are advertising: 10.1 and 8.9.
Actually the smaller one is even more intersting because I don't think the bigger one differs enough to deserve another look after the Transformer.
rio
isn't 10.1V the heavy old one?
from what I saw on youtube, they're emphasizing that the tab 10.1 is a pure google experience with no touchwiz. It has tegra 2 as well.
I was set on waiting for the 10.1v since there were sites reporting it had a USB 2.0 slot (most likely mini). Come to find out it doesn't have one and also does not have an HDMI output (mini or otherwise). If it had both, I would have waited. I was hoping it would have the perfect hardware that all other tablets have some but not other (HDMI, USB, LED camera flash, microSD, etc).
I thought the 10.1v was essentially a limited-run (i.e. bastard child) product, since Samsung will be re-releasing a thinner version to compete against the iPad2.
Personally, I think the 8.9 version will be really sweet (only 1 lbs.), but the Transformer and its uber dock still gets my vote.
10.1v is the 10.1" version of the current Galaxy Tab. The non-V version is the real one you want which has Honeycomb on it. Samsung = too many models

the 10.1v is the model exclusive to Vodafone, with 3g. The 10.1 with no v is likely to be wifi only. It's supposed to be thinner and lighter than the ipad2.

The whole thing is kinda weird. According to the Wikipedia the 10.1V is 4g heavier than the 10.1. It is a lot thinner but 4g is nothing to a 600g device.

Bring out Galaxy Tab II already!
Meh. It doesn't stop me from ordering it online.
also, why would you want a galaxy tab 10.1 now? its tegra2, everybody's waiting for kal-el now.
apple was afraidd of the samsung galaxy tab 10.1 and 8.9 so he's doing a process in europe too but only in germany already

Everybody? If you're only interested in the processor, then by all means the Transformer2 is the way to go. I had a Qualcomm HTC Jetstream for nine days before I returned it and the UI was a bit faster but the Tab was equal in browsing and faster at video. If weight, form factor, build quality, support, audio and video codecs, display, and better drivers mean anything the G-Tab 10.1 is still a great choice. I have a Wi-Fi and am waiting for a 3G from the UK. For what a tablet's supposed to do the Teg is fine and Samsung's better optimized s/w helps its performance a lot.
Why post this in the Galaxy S II section? The more relevant thing to post would have been the changes Samsung has to make to TouchWiz in order for them to sell their devices in the Netherlands, as that directly affects the Galaxy S II(source: Samfirmware tweet). Galaxy Tab != Galaxy S II.

But of course you can get it in Germany too. Without problems. It is only not allowed for Samsung to import it
I don't think that this will matter so much to Sammy as they can make a variation of the tab 10.1 and it would be legal for retail sale in OZ. Plus Apple is scared of Samsung, i don't think that they will be able to stop every tablet that Sammy will produce in future. So this is pretty much a speed bump for Sammy

Maybe you're right. In any case, I've only tried out the Transformer1 and wasn't particularly impressed with its performance. Then again, might be possible that the SGS2 has spoilt me.

I would definately choose for the SGS2!
It has a great developement section, so you can always upgrade using ROMs!
I think it is above your budget, but it gives you the highest price/quality ratio.
It has an 8 MP camera with LED flash.
Even after 7pm today, the new Galaxy is being shown, the SGS3 so the price of the SGS2 will fall by the appearing of his new brother
People expect the SGS3 will be in stores in approx. 7 days, so I should then watch the price of the SGS2!

i wish that s2 may have another brother like s4, 5, 6 and 7. So that SGS2 would go down to Php 6000 haha. Coz i want it.
Being on a tight budget, I would even recommend that you go for the Samsung Galaxy S Plus.
As I've had it for some time, I can assure you that it performs really well with the right ROM and tweaks.
Also, it currently has almost fully-working builds of CM7 and CM9, and you can expect a lot of other custom ROMs, although there were some issues in development.
sgs2 it's so popular and supported
I don't think you'll get a Galaxy Note or a Samsung Galaxy S2 for under 6000 Philippine pesos.
This question is directed at folks who own a Note 10.1. If you were looking for a tablet today, would you buy the Note 10.1 again or would you buy something else? Why? If you would buy a different tablet what would it be and why?

In short: if I would by an android tablet I would definitely buy a Note 10.1 again, no doubt about it. However, having a quite decent laptop in the tablet would be nice sometimes so one doesn't have to carry two devices in school and still can run ie matlab and MS Office, so a series 7 Slate (also this from Samsung) is something I would really consider. But it's a lot more expensive and larger so using it for pure reading as an ebook-ish is probably not as pleasant but then again it's more devices in one combined with a small wireless keyboard.

Welllll,
I was waiting when I got my Note 10.1, then a really good deal (350 $US) came up on a refurbished 32GB model, so I jumped on it.
What I was cross shopping was the Samsung ATIV 500t, and the prices of those were down considerably, but after trying both in the store, the Note 10.1 was far smoother and a better experience than the ATIV, but the allure of running full windows Desktop apps (photoshop, illustrator, etc. )on a tablet is still there. The next line of Intel chips (Haswell, not the ones in the new G-tab 3) should hit the sweet spot of performance and battery life, and that's what I'd wait for, that or a sweet deal on the Note 8. The Note 8 is a very very compelling product, the pen is different in the 8" version and works a good bit better than on the 10.1, but the price is out of line from my expectations.
I bought the Note 10.1 for the features it had- 10" screen, Quad-Core CPU, 2GB RAM, fast Samsung Flash-memory and 3G connectivity (plus it's unlocked and there's kernel source available). For those specs, there's no currently-available equal.
That being said, once the upcoming Sony Tablet Z 3G/LTE comes out, I'll probably get it. I've had a chance to play with one of the prototypes and I like the form-factor and the fact that SonyMobile has released all the source already.
Every meeting I have when I start taking notes with my Note 10.1, I get asked about it and someone usually says "I wish my ipad did that"... There is simply no better pen input device on the market... yet!
I would wait because I would be expecting that a new Note tablet would come out, and this Note tablet would drop in price.

Actually, since the 8.0 recently was launched there won't be another similar tablet in this year or maybe "just in time for christmas shopping".

I would wait for the 5.0 upgrade if that is not just a rumour . or at least 4.2..... multiuser on this tablet would be usefull.
I too was looking for other new upcoming tablets like the new nexus thats about to hit in autumn or the xperia z that has sort of the same concept of multi tasking (refering to the floating apps that xperia home has) ; but i have trully fallen in love with the s- pen and multiwindow functionality and app developed here on xda !!
So for Now.. regarding your subject, the note is still serving all my needs in terms of performance.
The next note ( if there will be such ), will sure be quite interesting. The note 10.1 that exists allready has the cool revolutionary multi tasking concept mentioned, that not many android devices have yet implemented to be usefull enough for my user taste.
I'm thinkin that there are many directions to explore in android, that none big producer has explored till samsung started mostly .
Sure it would be great for me ...if i could run a vanilla aosp android 4.2 like on the nexus10 but multiwindowed... Even aokp and cm.....
Is should be possible in any device till now...no matter that version....theyre just teasing us.
I would consider the new Toshiba as that also had sd-card and a stylus but is super high-res. Just waiting to see how easy it will be to root. The resolution is the only way in which the Note could seriously be improved imo, but tbh I haven't found it to be much of an issue and I do a lot of technical pdf reading and annotating.
ASUS is currently giving its keynote presentation at Computex 2013 in Taipei where it has just rolled out the first of a few new Android devices, the refreshed and redesigned Transformer Pad Infinity.
10-inch 2560x1600 IPS display with 178-degree viewing angle
1.9GHz Tegra 4 CPU
2GB of RAM
32GB of storage, expandable by SDcard
802.11a/b/g/n Wifi
USB 3.0 port
4K video output over HDMI
399.00 price point and 499.00 with dock
The are also working on the ASUS Transformer Book Trio, runs Android "Jelly Bean"and Windows 8
It will have two CPUs -- a fourth-generation Intel Core i7 U4500 for Windows and an Atom 2580 for Android. It's also got two banks of storage available -- a 1TB traditional hard drive and 64GB of flash storage and a 1080p IPS display.
The Trio can be docked and used as a tablet or a laptop. But it also boasts an additional usage mode -- the docking station can be connected to a monitor to create a full desktop PC experience. So it looks like the Atom chip lives in the display, while the Core i7 likely resides in the dock.
All about android talked about it on there webcast this week. ( http://twit.tv/show/all-about-android/112 starts at 16:20 mark )
It looks like they are going after Samsung and Microsoft's business so you should expect a new line or upgrades from Samsung.
I would most likely stick with my Note 10.1 as I already know what it can do and I'm happy.

Most definitively the Note. Samsung's Note tablets are their premium class ones. The Tab tablets are the middle-to-low range ones (and really aren't great at all).
Here is a comparison table, if you want a breakdown on specs: http://www.phonearena.com/phones/co...msung-Galaxy-Tab-3-10.1-inch/phones/8139,7870
You'll notice that the Note 10.1 2014 Edition far outshines the latest Tab 3. It has a far better processor, has better battery life, a far better screen, a better camera, offers premium software not available in the Tab, and of course, has the fantastic S-pen that everyone raves about. It also has better long-term use, as Samsung updates its flagship models far more often than their non-flagship models.
If you want the best Android tablet (and arguably the best tablet in general), the Galaxy Note 10.1 2014 Edition is hands-down the one for you.
If you're looking for a middle-to-low end device, I would not recommend a Galaxy Tab but rather something from another company.
If you don't care for S-pen features, and just want a tablet for entertainment, running stock android, then I'd recommend a Nexus - either the 7" or the upcoming 10" tablet.
