its laggy initially.but after a couple of reboots its fine...wifi is fine for me!! why don't u try doing a factory reset!!

first thing I always do is reboot 3 or 4 times
i never had an issue with wifi... for me, I couldnt get 4g to work. i was stuck on edge:2 for the first couple hours. randomly rebooting seemed to fix that

does ICS support pulse notification light??-there is an option under display setting..but does not seems to work!

[q][i9020] Screen Brightness not high enough - anymore.

Good Morning.
I happened to notice that my display suddenly lost some brightness while reading an ebook yesterday. On max values it isnt bright enough to be readable outdoors anymore (Auto brightness off)
I tried a complete wipe and 3 different roms, but it stays the same. Does anyone of you fine folks got some advice on how to lock down the problem and solve it?
Thanks in advance

have you tried removing the battery?? because i had that issue when i upgraded the first time to 4.0.4 from 4.0.3 and i downgraded to gingerbread but that didn't resolve the problem til i remove the battery. and magically the problem disappeared.. now i am on stock 4.0.4 via OTA and my phone is perfect..
hope that you'll fix it

oh i haven't seen that.. u r right but i think that we didn't have to change the rom.. we have just to pull out the battery.. that was a real waste of time especially when we have to backup and restore data

Sticky WIFI

HI
Got my One S yesterday and might i just say i think its the bees knees so to speak.
So far everything seems fine and no noticed any of the issues mentioned here.
The first thing i have noticed today however is this:
I had the phone connected to my home's wifi which was great, however when i got to work this morning it thought it was still connected to such WIFI eventhough i was miles from home. i had to turn wifi off and on to fix it.
Anyone else noticed this, or have an idea of how to fix?
Cheers
It is a known bug
I also found myself traveling miles from home with no WIFI in the horizon with my home network still connected, blocking the phone from switching to mobile data.
We will probably need to wait for a firmware update.

Not reckon a factory reset will do the trick?
Haven't tried yet

but a short term solution is disable->enable the wifi totally.
yeah i know. just annoying.
very annoying!

on top of that, I do get once in a while error when trying to enable WIFI.
no detailed data but just "Error" instead of the regular on/off.
Have seen the same problem too, sometimes the device gets stuck thinking it is connected to Wifi when in fact it is many miles from the network it claims to be connected to.
I have seen the problem the other way around... when having been outside of the range of my wifi-router the HOS won't connect back to it when coming home... the only thing to do is to shut off wifi on the phone..
that exactly what i added before

I have mentioned that trying to re-enable WIFI results in an error instead of either on or off in its settings. Indeed only phone restart helps.

I didn't get any errors... I just disabled wifi and turned it back on again... no need to reboot the phone...

the error I mentioned is not always and usually I can disable/enable w/o any issue.
But, it did happened more than once.
to me it doesn't happen
After some more testing I have come to this conclusion:
If I put the wifi in high power mode it connects immedietly to my trusty DIR-655 after having slept for some time. If I put it in low power mode it is trying to connect but doesn't do squat.
From there I just have to momentarily disable and enable wifi in order for it to happily reconnect again. Yay for the wifi widget...
And yes, I want the phone to shut down wifi when in standby mode. NOT always on.

Wifi Disconnect - No Internet

I just started having this problem:
My phone works fine and I am able to access the internet.
Then I get to work and turn on Wifi. Everything works fine no problem.
Then I turn off Wifi and want to resume access through general AT&T 4G, and I cannot get the browser to connect.
I keep getting errors related to no data connection.
Why is this happening? What do I need to do when I turn off Wifi to resume use of wireless network?
Thanks!

You can probably cycle airplane mode to get it to work
I will try that. But this only recently started happening...for the first few months I never had this problem.
Any thoughts on what would suddenly make this happen?
Definitely appreciate the response, but it seems like needing to cycle airplane mode shouldnt be the only/right way to address whatever is happening...?
***EDIT***
Strangely, when I try to cycle into Flight Mode here is what happens...
Phone says it is in Flight Mode, but I still have 4GLTE and coverage bars at the top.
Again, until recently this would work fine and I would get the Airplane icon...not happening now...
By the way, when I now try to cycle out of airplane mode, the Flight mode option is greyed out (it says "Flight Mode is ON" in grey) and I cannot select to switch out. I can only Power Off.

Yeah it shouldn't happen. What rom/ radio you on? Do you ever reboot the phone?
I am all stock.
By "ever reboot" do you mean power off? If so, then yes, every night.

Yeah, shut off or restart is what I meant. This happens every day or just sometimes?
Until recently I didnt have this problem at all.
Over the last few days it has started to happen more frequently, although not always.

att will probably tell you to factory reset if you bring it in. I don't know what else to do besides reset it and see if that works. If not, I guess bring it in to them.
OK thanks for the advice. let me see if this keeps happening.
I know you also commented on my other thread, around the issues I am having with battery drain once I power off.
That one is also totally unresolved (noone seems to have any thoughts). They have both only started happening in the last few days. Hmm...

Oh yeah, thats you too, huh...haha, that sucks. I'm not too sure, but maybe this is a hardware issue. I don't see how they relate, but maybe.

Wifi troubles

Hey guys I got this phone couple of days ago. I have noticed wifi sucks on this device. When ever screen is off wifi disconnects. I flashed cm10 but same problem. Is there a fix available?
Using REGPON wifi KeepAlive app from playstore but its draining the battery....
Basically I'm having trouble receiving push notifications
EDIT:I have noticed this does not happen when its on charger without charger when I press power to wake the phone, the notification comes in immediately. No delay at all.

If you go into the Advanced WiFi settings, you can set it to keep wifi on during sleep.
It is on
may be try upgrading to the latest rom?

if you're in the US go for the T-Mobile 0.16 radio. if not try the other one. both should work fine
Unfortuantely that didn't work. I guess there is a hardware defect with my phone. Weird that it only occurs when phone goes in sleep and only affects wifi. A Google search showed that many people are having similar problem with. One x one s and evo 4g lte.

[Q]Does anybody else have Random Reboot problems?: Help!!!!

Just bought Galaxy S6 yesterday... woked fine until 3 hrs later it jus seems to reboot randomly....like maybe once an hour ...or twice ,,...even 3x's ....woke up this morning my phone was off.... can someone help...I am a medical courier and dependent on my phone to work at all times no problem....to deliver patients medications at any given time.....I cant be at work trying to update my work deliveries on my phone if it keeps resetting...Not what I expected from Samsung's Galaxyyy s6
any helpful info would be appreciated thanks.
Factory reset the device. If that doesn't help, your device is probably faulty and you should return it.

You should try a hard reset and never turn wifi on. I have random reboots and freezes too (even with wifi off) and that solved to me.

with wifi turned off same problem nothing happened, phone rebbots during searching the web, during talking, same sh*t,
after hard reset during changing language it reboots 2 times, so with my ugly phone there is no problem with wifi but its a problem with cpu or ram vs rom.

Are you on the latest firmware for your region? What about cell signal? Did you install any apps after reset? I'm still trying to figure this phone out... I've been with Samsung 4ever and really want this phone to work right! But might have to cut my losses and go back to my S5

I don't think it's a Wi-Fi issues becuz I am facing the same exact problem, and I'm getting a replacement device too. Becuz it happens even when Wi-Fi is turned off. I think it has to do with the phone can't handle heavy loads when it's doing alot of multitasking the ram management is horrible real bad.

Yea it's just Samsung fault that's all. The only reason I am returning mines though is becuz I rooted it and tripped Knox and now they have came out with a method to root without tripping Knox lol so I am going to get a different one with Knox back to 0x0 but as for the random reboots only Samsung can fix that issue with a software update and don't hold your beath. Because only some devices are getting update which is so stupid.
