Widget Asus Weather - Asus Transformer TF700

Even with JB weather widget does not update automatically!
Have solutions?
What alternatives are there nice?
I tried HD Widgets but I do not like

I am hooked on HD Widgets (the 8x2 "banner-type" widget). Just curious, what don't you like about HD Widgets?
Sent from my ASUS Transformer Pad TF700T using Tapatalk 2

The graphics of the weather for example.
That Asus is prettier.
Between HD Widgets and Fancy Widget Fancy prefer!

Me likes the Asus weather widget too.
After Jelly Beans the weather widget wouldn't let me save changed settings.
It was showing our location incorrectly.
The temps were Celsius.
The sky was always cloudy.
The wife did a couple of cold shutdowns then it decided to function.
I have no idea why android is so stubborn at times.
Maybe too much RAM tied up!?

i miss my Asus weather also
Jelly bean is working great on my TF700 but i miss my Asus weather it complimented my wall paper so well.. I have read some people have to do factory reset. I hope not cuz everything else is working fine.
I have tried stoping and clearing and rebooting over and over.. set up google now and it get weather fine also installed accu weather to see if maybe they might link .. no luck

For what it is woth, a factory reset and a couple cold boots did not bring my weather widget back. I just gave up on it.

high rez HTC clock and weather widget

The closest I have got to getting the HTC clock widget on the x10 is free widget app on the market called HTC clocks and a weather widget. They are both low rez and look terrible on the home screen. Anyone know if there is a high rez htc clock and weather widget out there? Perhaps taken from the desire?
Look here.
Yes, just download Fancy Widget from Market and you will have exactly like on Desire, Im using it and it is great !
Do you also get the nice weather animations that appear on Desire when you unlock the screen? Windshield wipers on rainy days and so on? Doesn't seem to work here.

As far as i know, you don't have that in the Fancy Widget now.
I think that this is Android 2.1 feature and that we cannot have that animated sun and rain...correct me if Im wrong...but then, I dont see why isnt that implemented in any weather app if it is possible on 1.6 ?
Beautiful home widget looks great. u get an animated weather widget which changes according to the time.
"Weather Widget & Toggle" plus their weather addon is what you're looking for. Identical to the HTC clock in hi-rez and it has the weather animations, lightning, clouds scrolling buy, rain drops with wiper blade etc.
which addon do you mean?

After you install weather widget & toggle, there is a addon for extended weather options. Just hit options inside the weather widget, and there is an option to download the weather addon. This replaces the default screen when you tap on the weather icon on the clock, it opens up a new weather screen that has the kick ass animated weather and forcast.
i tested it, but i like fancy widget more
I use Beautifull Widgets and is working great and has animation just like Desire. I have my X10i and my brother has Desire....

try beautiful widgets...
I used to use beautiful widgets but for the last week or so ive tried fancy widgets. I like the look of the fancy ones as its almost a direct copy from the htc sense one but i found my battery seemed to be dying quicker than normal so ive gone back to beautiful for now to test it.
Anyone else use fancy widget and find their battery going quicker?
HTC is taking down any clock widgets that looks like theirs
fancy widgets, weather forcast, and another app changed their clock designs.
so if you want to get the htc clock i guess you gotta google it and manually install it.
Damn HTC
Fancy widget has no weather icon below the clock, its that 2 days already. What is that ? I have only clock and other numbers but no icon for weather ?
The clock
Hello,
I just installed Fancy Widget, but it seems to be problem with the time.
The clock never updates, weather is working fine.
I did change one settings, AUTO refresh. cuz i dont want to use internet all the time.
I was using beautiful widget and lately it was giving some errors on whether. So I installed fancy widget and remove from kill list.
So far its working fine and I kept 12 hours refresh interval and use manual location instead GPS (it kills battery)
I have no battery impact on both apps and Im happy about it.
With the recent update on fancy widget, it will be discontinued due to HTC behind them on name usage.
It seems that HTC is taking down Fancy Widget now.
Just look here: http://www.anddoes.com/?p=47
So does anyone have an apk file of Fancy Widget v1.2.4 i can download from somewhere?. Yes the widget is free, so it's not warez.

Gingerbread weather live walllaper?

whys everyone so jacked about this? Whats it do? Any screenshots?
Sent from my ADR6400L using XDA Premium App
Takes your current weather outside, and basically makes it a live wallpaper. Last night it was raining, and it looked as though it was raining at night in my phone. Also you can set it to play sound (rain drops hitting the ground type of thing)
Today it's cloudy, so when I unlock my phone, it looks like the phone is floating on clouds as though you were in a plane.
I didn't know sense 3 weather or weather wallpaper did that. That's pretty awesome.
Edit: That is the sense 3.0 weather stuff we are talking about right?

Does your wallpaper stop after a few seconds? Mine has been doing that since I flashed bamf 2.0-4
Edit: found that it doesn't loop

mine is stopping after a cycle as well on 2.04. Can't speak for previous versions, this is first one I've flashed.
I love the effects especially on the lock screen but the temp isnt accurate at all. It was 10 degrees off last night for me.
Anyone know a link to it?

I like the lockscreen weather app. I think the background one is a bit silly with it's sound effects.
My gb weather widget stopped working after a day. I still see the effects after unlocking the phone and it shows under the clock, but i can no longer tap the app and go into it and see all those cool weather graphics. My weather icon also is gone from my app drawer. I was running Bamf 2.0-4 then upgraded 2.0-5 hoping it would fix it. Help please!!!

I started with 2.0-5 and all the weather stuff works. You can't tap the weather on the lock screen to get into the app, but you can tap on the clock/weather widget and it launches. Also has a separate icon in the app tray.
Might want to wipe and reflash. Do it all in recovery, not in rom manager.

Basic weather widget help..

Can anyone suggest a weather widget, or even know of one, that is JUST the picture/graphic of the weather? I'm going minimal these days with my homescreens and need something to match. Seems every widget has a clock or forecast for the next couple days, etc. I simply want, if its sunny, a sun. If its raining, rain drops etc.. I've seen similiar ones for the moon phases etc, but can't seem to find anything for weather..
Any help? Thanks folks..
Sent @ 04:20
Well am not sure this is rom related but if you going into the widget selector and scroll down to weather there are 3 of them in there with 2 small ones.
You don't say if you even bothered to look at the phones selection of widgets.
These are from beautiful widgets. You can turn off the background so all you get is the weather. It's in the market if you want it.
Sent from my Inspire 4G using the power of the dark side.
Thank you ^
Going to check it out in a few. Wonder if I can edit that to remove the text(temp, high/low) somehow. Is it simply removing a line of script in the file does anyone know?

BW has an lwp that displays just the weather.

Weather bug has a nice small widget.
As I said with the stock weather widget you get several small ones. This is the smallest on that is available without having to buy anything.
simi clock has a minimal weather widget too.

Post your Home Screens

Ok I do not yet have mine yet, but after reading the Prime thread and the TF300 one we should do the same, plus it would be a great to see what you have all done
This will be a nice thread. Will post my screen later. Have a hard time deciding how to arrange my home screen. Using Apex launcher. Crashes quite often so that will be prio one to decide launcher to use.

Apps! Apps everywhere! lol. I need some big widgets to throw on my home screens...
My 2 cents, smudged because of some sensitive text/data...
Ordered like on the tablet, 3rd one is home screen. Apex launcher, apps, some standard widgets + minimalistic text for titles.

It's the biggest weather widget (manually resized to be a bit smaller actually) from HD Widgets + Dual Battery Widget.
I think that transparent agenda widget from Wizz is pretty cool too.
And battery state on the bottom is from GSam battery widget.

My screens,
the middle/main one.
and the right one
and a screenshot were you can admire my wallpaper.
I actually think that choosing the wallpaper in ICS is totally rubbish.
Why doesn't it downscale the picture if it's too big?
Or why the hell doesn't it fit? It's just 1920x1080.
Wouldn't that be the perfect size for the Infinity?
The wallpaper would actually look like this
+1 on being annoyed by having to crop the wallpaper picture
It works a bit better with Nova Launcher, but then you have to live with a cut wallpaper in portrait mode...
Wallpaper wizardrii is what you need to scale the wallpaper to whatever you want.
I've been to mycolorscreen, which features mostly portrait and probably phone themes. Is there any site that's more tablet oriented (with apologies, my googlefu is weak today)? I kind of want to do an anchored list on the left of each screen, and I think I recall the best of those usually add some elements to the wallpaper itself to highlight the selected anchor, so you use maybe minimal text for the icon to the anchors, but then set them inside shaded portions you've crafted into your wallpaper. I kind of think I know what I want to do, but I'd love to have some good examples to build from.

This works well and fine, but still not a solution to portrait mode wallpaper cut-off.
I use Apex launcher and just because of this wallpaper problem never use homescreens in portrait.
If anyone knows of solution....please let us know.
Thx

Lock screen location (AccuWeather.com) is wrong

When I turn my phone on, the lock screen default weather location is wrong and it uses AccuWeather.com you can see.
But, when I unlock the phone and go into my weather widget, it is fine. I use HD Widgets and set it to use WeatherBug.
How can I correct the lock screen weather to report my proper location?
I don't believe there is a way to adjust the location on the lockscreen weather. I have the same issue and so I stopped using the Touchwiz weather widget. It kept telling me I was in the "poor part of town" and well, that just wasn't going to work for a snob like me.
Either AccuWeather has incorrect info or your GPS isn't locking in quick enough for when the app checks for location. I suspect it may be the second, as from my experience, sometimes it would be spot on but most of the time wrong. Once I started using widgets that don't use AccuWeather, I noticed I hadn't had any problems though.

I couldn't find a way, so I wonder if there is a ro0t method? Maybe to tell the system to NOT use AccuWeather.com (I have had issues with them in the past in other widgets).
I don't run GPS unless needed. HD widgets finds me fine without GPS but this lock screen default weather app cannot.
I have 2 GS3's both rooted running cleanrom 2.1. One has the correct weather on the lock screen the other does not. I'm thinking more of a hardware problem due to these phones being set up the same.

not sure how hardware could interfere with weather info. Especially when I have no other issues so likely a hardware issue would manifest in some other area - something bigger then this 1 thing.
I am sure root could fix this if you could alter the file used to run that lock screen weather and tell it to use WeatherBug. Just not sure what file that is.
Did you try going to setting/security/lock screen and clicking on weather? Mine was defaulted to never update location so I set it to every hour

Yes, mine has always been set to 1 hour. The issue is not it updating weather, the issue is it saying I am not where I am at. It is about 40 miles off in a totally different town.

Out of curiousity, when you open Maps, does it give you the correct location?
On my phone, while in the house, it always puts me about three blocks away and then about two - four seconds later, gets me spot on. I assumed it was that delay that was affecting the Touchwiz weather widgets. The few times the stock weather features got my location right I happened to be in different rooms of my house or outside. The SG3 GPS seems to have some issues indoors.
I have noticed that every other weather widget I use displays the correct city right away for me. I switched to using FancyWidget Pro on my homescreen today and I noticed it uses Accuweather and was still correct, but that uses geolocation instead of GPS. I've also had no issues with One More Clock Widget or Simi Clock.
Oddly, aWeather and the stock weather widget and the lockscreen are the ones that give me false locations.
I haven't tried it yet, but I read something where some people were having luck clearning the cache on maps and the weather widget then making sure "verizon location services" isn't checked and it was correcting some location issues. Might be worth a shot.
All I know is I set up mine and the wife's phones the exact same way from a full wipe and hers always gets the weather location wrong for some reason. That's why I believe some hardware might be sub par. I'm at a loss as with this.

I have a similiar thing going on with my Galaxy Tab 10.1. I've done a hard reset back to stock and it will be fine and always have the same city one time, then if I do a hard reset again at another time, it won't get the right city.
I think their software needs some fine tuning.

I too would like to know this, once we know this and a few other pieces of information there might be a chance we could tinker and change the lockscreen weather to use weatherbug or something similar. I bought the 25¢ HD Widgets app today just because it uses weatherbug. And that's the only app that will pull up a weather monitor in my town, aside from WeatherChannel and the local news app, both of which are terrible.
Maddening GPS issues!!
Having similar problem here - but not limited to lockscreen weather. I use the Simi clock+weather widget on my homescreen and though I live in Atlanta it shows me as being in Creedmoor, NC (which I gather is near Raleigh). Also, Foursquare shows me being in Creedmoor on its map, but the check-in locations are in Atlanta and show accurate distances from where I am. Maps works fine and shows my location correctly (more or less). Very frustrating problem. Is it hardware related or software? This all started when I was not having any luck getting a GPS lock and tried various fixes. The lock is there now but the location on some apps is way off.
Just purchased HD widgets, I'll have to check this out.
Guys, those that are having lockscreen weather issues, do you use the default weather widget on your homescreen? The one with clock and weather. I found that if I don't use the weather widget on the home screen then the lockscreen does not update and shows inaccurate info. You have to use it for the lockscreen to work.
I discovered this when I was using beautiful widgets and the lockscreen stopped updating. They both use accuweather but for some reason the widget needs to be active.
Hope this helps some!

On my homescreen I use HD widgets. I have zero intentions of using the stock weather/clock widget just to make the lockscreen weather/location correct. Amazing what we can do to tweak the OS, and yet this cannot be tweaked in a file.
accuweather is the culprit as when I use that in HD widgets it screw up my location, use weatherbug and it is perfect.
EDIT: wait.. I see no "default" system installed weather widget... my only weather widgets are my after-market HD and Beautiful widgets, no such "default weather widget"
HD Widgets gets the correct location for me. The default one from TouchWiz is off by a good distance.

Agreed BUT we are not talking about widgets, we are talking about the fact the lock screen weather is off and it is off as it uses accuweather and you don't seem to have any choice in the matter to pick a different service for the lock screen weather.
