*Long time viewer first time complainer i did look around and could not find any other problem that was closely related to mine.
I have Samsung infuse ATT rooted 4.0.4 using infinitum 1.1.1 I had no problems rooting my phone because, i've done it so many times.
Ok well my problem starts when i downloaded and used rom manager i decided i should make a backup of my rom when i did that my phone went start to recovery mode. I tried to reboot and my phone did and it went straight back to recovery mode without my doing. I have tried clearing the cache, then reboot(Same thing happened) then restore, advance restore, then cleared my cache, wiped data/factory reset, cleared delvick and i still end up in recovery mode. I tried doing this things out of desperation i didn't want to annoy so i havent posted on here trying to fix it myself. I also tried using another ICS rom provided by qwster one root ics and that didnt work either Now before i get any more try anything else in desperation. Do you guys have and idea whats going on?
You got caught in a recovery bootloop, surely thanks to Rom manager. Please, do not use it again since, as you can see, all it does is cause issues.
Use heimdall or odin to go back to stock.
Also, some have escaped the loop by using the infuse toolkit to wipe everything

Odin does not recognize my phone at all, i think i made it worse by trying to use the one click ics which was not my original rom. Im not sure the driver is even right anymore it says samsung composite drivers. is it normal when i am charging my battery that it loops into recovery too?
The one-click ics recovery flashes the ics kernel, which shouldn't make things worst at all.
Have you tried heimdall?
Samsung composite device is what it should say.
If it still is not recognized by Odin or heimdall, then try reinstalling drivers.

Thank you for you advice i was doubting going back to gingervread from ics, because i thought i might mess something up. I had to unistall all drivers for my phone reinstalled Kies and finally odin was able to recognize my phone again. I think using the one step click changed the drivers to where odin could not recognize my phone. In all thank you, i will never use rom manager again. This is a very helpful community
Agreed about the ROM manager..
I had crazy boot loops and all kind of odd problems.. once I ditched it (seems like ages ago) I haven't had any problems.. other than ones I was the cause of..
Moving to the Note next week and it seems as easy if not easier to get stuff done.. yay!
Its powered by Jellybeaned AOKP!

so, last night my phone was acting wierd... slow, battery was getting destroyed literally in an hour or two so i cleaned it up..
somehow i lost clockwork recovery... no flippin idea what happened, i never flashed or installed anything, but i went to do a backup and all i got was samsung recovery.
i did not lose root...
tried to install via rom manager and it said it worked... yeah whatever, that program is rubbish and ALWAYS says it worked...
anyways rebooted to a black screen but the capacitive buttons would light up if i touched them.
finally it installed but nothing worked and the phone locked up.
by the way rom manager installed CWM 3.0.0.8 (orange)
so now i had to completely blow out the phone, reroot, reinstall CWM (which worked the first time) but nothing is working in clockwork again.
back up.. nope says error backing up.. thats it
restore... nope, something about only having 8gb of space on my SDcard
i can wipe cache,, or so it seems.
but
if i wipe dalvik it locks the phone and i completely lose CWM again.
its acting like CWM is only temporary or something.
so what the heck.. i have never seen this before... ever.
I cant do anything with regards to bqcking up or restoring.
I cant.flash anything either even though rom manager boots to a portion of cwm which tries to flash a eom. But the phone just reboots.

In fairness, it's not immediately clear what you did after getting CWM Orange 3 installed---and really, ROM Manager should only ever be used on our phones if you're using the latest (CWM 4) on an MTD ROM.
That said: IF you think you need to do this (it sounds like if you got CM7 installed, you don't, but offering the advice all the same): take foxfire450's advice. Then do the entire process all over again. I've heard of people having issues with a lagfux or MTD removal unless they did the process twice. You might even consider the RFS Formatter if you're still having trouble.
Again though, that's all largely academic if you're running fine now. *shrug* Up to you to try if you think it's worth bothering at this point.
I am posting this as somewhat of a noob...
I went from ROM after ROM after ROM with no problem. Then I installed Dlev GB (WICKED SWEET!!!!) and reinstalled my all my apps with TiBu; but upon getting every thing I wanted set up, restarting, I lost ALL of my apps over and over. I then started to Data wipe and Dalvik wipe and install repetedly trying to get it working. NO SUCCESS... Then went back to stock using gtg's "Returne to Stock" (Always a HUGE THANK YOU!!!!) and started from scratch as it were. Installed Modded CWM again gtg, and then installed Dlev one more time... Come to find out that i REALLY screwed things over before doing the return to stock. What also was happening was that each time that I would use TiBu, it would throw EVERYTHING into my System Partition instead of just installing it in the USB/Internal SD.
So if you are running across this also... Here is the way I worked it out. It doesnt take all that long, just get all your tools infront of you before going forward.
Tools list:
[ODIN][UCKD5] GTG's Ultimate Unbrick - Return to stock - Working PIT included (gtg465x)
[RECOVERY] 100% working ClockworkMod Recovery for Infuse 4G (gtg465x)
USB Cable
What ever ROM you would like to install
And that is it!! Just start going step by step and you will be on your way to a clean slate. Enjoy! But don't come back to me if you do something wrong and Brick the Junk out of your Infuse! I'm just stating what helped me and hopefully it will for you if your in the same boat.
Hello - I tried to update my phone from Infuse v2.2.3 to Th3Bill JB 3.3.2 and got in an endless loop. I then tried to go into recovery mode and do a restore. Checked the MD5, Erased boot and then started restoring boot image and thats where she has been sitting for some time. I will pull batter and attempt again however I may be hosed. Any help greatly appreciated.
It is not possible, that I am aware of, to go from Froyo straight to JB. You will also not be able to restore a backup at this point due to changes made on the phone in the borked attempt. You should be able to wipe data, cache, and dalvik, and after a couple of attempts re- install a Froyo rom from scratch. If you can't do that, do this.

Thanks to qkster and Entropy for this.
I had that issue as well. Only cause I like to see if I can be done. But no. What I do is go back to stock and rooted then flash a ICS ROM then make sure it boots. Then go wipe all stuff in cwm and flash jelly

Hey Pony, I was on the custom ROM Infuse v2.2.3 and not stock Froyo. I ended up doing the gtg ultimate unbrick to bring it back to stock and then did the full back to Infuse v2.2.3 and then did a nandroid restore. Everything looks good but it is acting a bit weird. Like I will try to open my applications or folders it sometimes hangs. I consistantly get it to free up by locking the phone and then unlocking it. Weird huh? Anyway I would be interested in trying to upgrade to JB but would like more instruction on that. Thanks for responding and if you can recommend anything that might help Im all ears.
See the post below - if you need more specific instructions let me know.
Thanks rkkaranrk.
Use Odin or heimdll to get stock GB Tom and then from there u can flash any rom u like just follow the instructions in the OP. You can go directly from GB to ICS but for JB u have to flash any ICS rom first and then JB.
Read the instructions on every thread.

Have you tried booting back into recovery and flashing the same rom once more?
Also, did you make sure to wipe all data, cache, dalvik cache and such before flashing the rom?
My suggestion: use heimdall one-click uclb3, and preferably also flash GB bootloaders (to avoid rainbows in ics or jb recovery). Flash Entropy's dd kernel which will give you red cwm, and from there you are ready to flash ICS.

No luck? =(
Give Andros' suggestion a go. Even with bootloops, you can still put your Infuse in Download Mode to use Hemdall or Odin.

Before you go and bite my head off, listen
first time i was upgrading a rom, i thought i was at a samsung boot logo freeze, and it took my phone around 20 minutes to fully upgrade, if this isnt your problem, then i miss understood, and recently, ive started using odin, and it is much easier than using the cmw

Hey everyone, I've done some searching but I can't seem to find what I'm looking for. I was having a problem with my CM10 installations so I decided to revert back to a stock rom and start fresh.
I used odin to flash "I727UCLF6_I727ATTLF6_I727UCLF6_HOME.tar.md5" (which is supposed to be the stock ICS rom for at&t) and everything goes great, but the phone now hangs on the "Rethink Possible" AT&T logo. I've let it sit for about an hour so I'm pretty certain that nothing is going to happen.
I tried doing the same thing over hoping that maybe it was a bad flash or some kind of fluke, but came back to the exact same problem.
Any suggestions here would be phenomenal! :silly:

Reboot into recovery which will be stock recovery factory reset 3x and wipe cache 3x reboot and it will come up.
Yep you guys were right that did the trick! I didn't even think of it. I meant to post this last night when I actually did it but I fell asleep.
Do you know what exactly the phone is doing (or trying to do) when this actually happens to cause it? Just out of curiosity.
Thanks again!
Only way to find out is connect a debugger. Android SDK, ddms.bat
I'm not sure exactly but I have had similar issues with getting stuck in a boot loop. Usually formating and factory reset and a fresh flash did the trick.
