[Q] Fix another "Software not authorized by verizon" - Verizon Samsung Galaxy S III

I've lurked for an hour and haven't found an actual fix.
So finally wasn't waiting for JB OTA,
Went through and used stock.vzw_root66.tar via Odin
Then used CWM to flash recovery and backup
Tried flashing to Liquid-JB-v2.0-RC3-d2vzw.zip with chache and data wipes.
Realized i missed the unlock boot loader (If i fix a link to unlocker app would be helpful)
Now i'm stuck at the unauthorized screen
Odin will bring up ID:COM, when flashing stock.vzw_root66.tar it pauses at SetupConnection and then ends process with Cant open Serial(COM) port.
with bionic i had R3R3L3AS3D ROOT (similar) to flash all my soft brick. anything similar to use here?
and if i get a fix. a worthy ROM will be appreciated.

Odin back to Stock (see Droidstyle's Guide it's at the bottom of the first post). Make sure to grab the correct driver and Odin version, don't use a USB3.0 port.
Root again with DebugFS (same here can be found in Driodstyle's Guide) or use the prerooted Odin.
Go to Rootswiki and grab version 1.2 of EZ-Unlock (Version 1.4 in the market is broken) and unlock your bootloader again. Get EZ Recovery from the Play Store and flash CWM.
now flash whatever ROM you like...

[Q] Unable to get phone to boot after Odin

Hope someone has some info.
I have recently tried to recover my phone via Odin flash. I'm flashing the GummyCharged 1.9 FE odin file. I've done this SEVERAL times w/ out any problems.
My problem now is that when the Odin flash is complete it shows "Pass" and when I reboot my phone it boots with an old version of CWM (4.0.0.1). Not only that but when I try to "reboot phone" it boot loops back to CWM and will not load ANY for of an OS. I've tried multiple Odin files with no luck. Same thing over and over.
Anyone have any suggestions? I'm used to having to recover my phone from a bricked state... but never had an issue where I push a file to the phone and it will not boot after. Tried wiping data/cache after Odin as well... Still nothing.
Wrong section but flash the newest cwm or try one of the full stock odin files. Make sure you are running as admin if using vista/7. Also once in download mode put the battery back in and start the flash.
Yeah, done that. I've Odin-ed plenty of times before with no issue. Still just loops. Its just not loading an Operating System for what ever reason. I just may need to get it back to verizon to swap it out.

HELP !! Stumped on softbricked GS3 Verizon

Recently rooted my gs3 and was freezing some apps with Rom Toolbox.
Do not have a list of them all.
Phone now boots the "Samsung Custom" page and then hangs on "Samsung Galaxy III" page.
I can boot to dl and factory recovery page.
I have wiped cache/data factory reset.
I have tried to reflash the stock rom via Odin from the download mode and the sd card from recovery mode.
With Odin I get a "Failed" message and with the sd card it says "signature failed".
Not sure where to go next and any help is greatly appreciated!!

Did you flash a custom recovery after you rooted? Did you unlock the bootloader? Have you tried to flash a custom rom?
I would suggest Following http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1762709 this guide. Section 5 to use odin to flash a stock image. You said you could get into odin/download mode then with the proper factory image and setup, you should be able flash back to K3 or G1 image.

I stupidly did not flash a recovery. I do not think the bootloader is unlocked, not sure how to do that?
Have tried to flash the stock rom and a custom rooted stock rom.
I have spent the better part of 2 days using the search feature and trying things. I'm a newb tho.
Thanks for any more ideas.
Use section 5 of the guide I linked for you to restore via Odin the stock factory rom.
Then search through the stickys for guides on root/unlock boot-loader/custom recoveries. read them twice and if you still aren't sure ask questions. Plenty of friendly folks to help you. I would hate to see you brick your phone trying to flash a custom rom with a locked boot-loader. Most roms require an unlocked boot-loader. You will need a custom recovery to flash roms and make nandroids/backups. the recovery's will be CWM or TWRP. Make sure you use Odin right or you could have a paperweight. Make sure you download the proper factory image to use in Odin.
When all is done properly there is little risk. Good Luck!
I used this guide when I made the mistake of installing a custom recovery without unlocking the bootloader XD. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1974114
Hope this helps!

[Q] Stuck on bootanimation. HELP

Tried looking everywhere, but couldn't really find anything. Any help is appreciated!
Alright some background info
I rooted my phone and unlocked the bootloader successfully. I wanted to do more, so I flashed TWRP onto my phone using JRummy's ROM Installer. I followed all the steps and successfully booted into TWRP recovery. I created a Nandroid backup and when I tried rebooting my phone it gets stuck on the 4G LTE boot animation.
I then tried wiping the cache etc. and restoring the backup I had just created. To no avail, the phone kept getting stuck on the boot animation. I've tried restoring the backup multiple times with no success.
On my last attempt I checked another box on the TWRP restore page, I think it was the VG5 verification or something. Halfway through what I though was going to be a successful restore, my phone reset and got stuck in the boot animation again. Now when I boot into recovery it's the stock recovery, not the custom TWRP as before. Tried clearing everything/factory reset and it still stuck on boot animation.
As a college student I'd like to get this figured out as soon as possible (hopefully before midweek, Friday at latest). If I can figure this out with your help I'll be very grateful.
If I can't find any other way, I'm willing to flash stock back using ODIN and seeing how that turns out. Also my home button is a little sticky so I doubt the Verizon worker would be able to boot into recovery or download mode.
Any suggestions?
For those of you TL;DR
1) Rooted phone / unlocked bootloader
2) Flashed custom TWRP recovery onto phone
3) Created a Nandroid backup from recovery
4) Tried rebooting and gets stuck on 4G LTE boot animation screen
5)Wiped cache etc. and retried multiple times. Doesn't work
EDIT: I flashed stock through ODIN and everything seems to be in order. I'll be trying to root and recover everything through TWRP again and if it doesn't work oh well. My end goal is to have a custom ROM
Maybe this will help you
Okay for your problem, if you can go to Download Mode and your recovery back to its stock form, your last option will be flashing it through Odin. There are several method and guides How to Flash via Odin. I will link to you all the guide and try it so your phone will be back to normal. Choose only 1 method
1.) [HOW-TO] Unbrick your soft bricked Galaxy S III (+ bootloader brick)
2.) Verizon Offcial VRBMB1 Odin Files, VRBMF1 Odin Files, and VRBMF1 Update Files
Must read first the guide and download all the necessary.
If your phone gets revived, you can try this method and choose TWRP recovery and update the recovery.

Note: You know the responsibility when you root your phone, I am not nor them who created this thread have responsibility to your phone, it is your choice.
Thanks for replying
I've got everything back in order now. I'll try installing AOKP or something
Your Welcome
That's good to hear

[Completed] Help! Stuck on Samsung boot screen!

Have a Verizon Samsung Galaxy Note II (SCH-i605). Took the latest OTA update to VRUEMJ9. Have since rooted and installed SafeStrap and was happily running N3BULA ROM, when I decided to explore a bit and tried to flash Alliance ROM. Now I'm stuck on the Samsung boot screen and can go no further. I am able to access Android system recovery, but when I try to 'apply update from external storage' I get 'E:signature verication failed' message. Tried to flash to stock via Odin, but unsuccessful. Shows Added in Odin but nothing happens when I select the .pit file or the .tar file. This is a work issued phone, so any help to get up and running would be greatly appreciated!

Have you performed a "wipe data" option from the recovery after flashing the alliance ROM (it wipes your user data)?
Because I just visited the alliance ROM thread ( http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2032447 and in the install instructions its mentioned so.
Better take a little time and properly read the install instructions during flashing..

I never had that option. I've flashed numerous ROMS before and am pretty meticulous when it comes to following instructions. It appeared to have a custom flash script which allowed me to pick what I did and didn't want to install. I tried to keep it mostly stock and when it completed, it automatically rebooted (didn't give me an option to 'wipe data') and now leaves me stuck on the Samsung Boot Screen. I was able to flash the .pit file via Odin, but keep getting a 'MD5 hash value is invalid' when I try to flash the .tar file.

You should enter into recovery and then manually wipe data..
Also if that thing doesnt work, then have a look at this thread which explains how to go back to stock rom..
In addition,
A. Why doesnt Odin work?
Did you unextract the tar and pit from the rar/zip so that odin could recognize the files as suggested in dagger's link in section 1b step 2?
Did you install samsung drivers on your computer properly? You may use this toolkit for that
B. Rescue by CWM
Signature verification failed is caused (I think) by stock samsung recovery's choosiness, if you are sure you downloaded the zip correctly. What zip did you exactly try to flash?
So now, you may want to flash a cwm recovery or a kernel that contains cwm inside. Flashing usually uses adb using fastboot. Search "flashing a recovery image" or "flashing a kernel" where your chosen kernel should have cwm inside. cwm usually does not put out that signature verification error.
Remember:
You can access recovery mode through an app or by pressing a button combo when turning your phone on. Device specific.
Stock samsung recovery can wipe data.
CWM can also wipe data, and is the preferred installation method for most/all custom roms. And it can make a nandroid backup.
If ever you do choose to flash, you'll need the toolkit to install adb/fastboot drivers, but maybe since yours in locked bootloader the adb thing might not work.
Hope this helps

I337 soft Bricked while installing OC3 via FlashFire (need HELP please)

I had rooted NB1 and was trying to flash OC3 lollipop with flashfire following this http://forum.xda-developers.com/gal...-to-update-to-i337oc3-5-0-1-keeproot-t3075814 at the end it didn't boot into download mode instead bootlooping into galaxy logo screen . So i manually flashed bootloader of OC4 as it says but bootloaders failed to be flash in odin . Now phone boots with the screen Firmware upgrade encountered an issue. But i get into download mode . I had NB1 bootloaders and was trying to flash OC3 with FF was i supposed to flash OC3 bootloader instead of OC4 . Can not find OC3 bootloaders . I tried to flash NB1 back in odin but it fails . What are my option now can someone please guide me please.
What was the error or fail message from Odin?
If it's taking you to the firmware upgrade failure screen, try downloading Kies 3 (I can't post the link so just Google it). It should be able to restore your firmware with no problem. When you open the software, connect your device with the cable that came with your phone. Then go under tools and select emergency firmware recovery. Now that it's bricked you can't, but for future reference whenever it gets stuck at one of those screens, pull the battery out for a minute, boot into recovery and wipe cache. Works every time. You just need to give it a minute to boot after the cache wipe, especially if you're using a deodexed stock ROM. For now, just use Kies, but if you plan to follow the same steps after restoration, always wipe cache and pull the battery after a flash
