Can't root MY ATRIX 2 ME865 - Motorola Atrix 2

Hi guys
As shown in the title,i can't root my atrix 2 which is on ics (67.220.3.en05).i have turned on usb debugging and run Root.bat in an admin account on my pc.it said permission denied and cannot copy any file to my phone(such as superuser.apk)
.anyone got an idea how to solve this problem?or this root method does not support my phone, which is an asia model(ME865, NOT MB865)?
I used this method

Did you do a factory reset after installing ICS OTA update? Without it, the phone isn't recognized by ADB, and hence the adb commands in the script fails.

Oh man, that means i have to say goodbye to my old data

If he is not rooted now, and didn't have a titanium backup already, it is too late.

Also don't run the .bat file as an administrator. I ran into problems with that as well.

I noticed that no one said anything about having the USB debug option checked on the settings. But I don't know if rooting ICS is different than GB.

Though they are technically different (in GB we exhaust ADB resources by a fork bomb to retain root, whereas in ICS we fool the kernel by passing qemu=1 by linking local.prop to a writable file), both requires ADB to work, hence USB debug option must be set for any of these mechanism.

For my best understanding, 67.220.3.en05 is only available from the HKTW OTA update up to now (SBF is not available), which is known that it's not able to be rooted at this moment (except replacing the boot.img with the ASIA RETAIL version)

[Q] NOOB please help!!

I bought an Atrix locally. It has superuser since it was rooted, BUT the seller removed the SD card, so the root isn't working right now.
I tried to upgrade Superuserand I'm not allowed to do so... it says the following: "An error ocurred and su was not updated. A zip file (su-2.3.1-bin-signed.zip) has been placed on your sdcard, please reboot into recovery mode and flash it to update your su binary"
I already inserted my own SD card, but I don't know what to do in fear of bricking my new phone.
Any help would be GREATLY appreciated, thanks!!

First you should try and root,(I used this) http://briefmobile.com/motorola-atrix-4g-root. But first check of you can uninstall superuser.apk, he probably just downloaded it from the market, but wasn't actually rooted

If motoblur was removed, I would think that the phone was rooted. As far as the errors you were getting, it may have been due to the previous user moving some apps to the micro sd card or they may have been using something like GOD mode. I would download a custom ROM designed for the phone, boot into recovery and install it.
Hope this helps.

Are you coming from another phone, say, a 3G phone that the retailer may have taken the SIM card from and put into your A2?
The ATRIX 2 is a 4G phone, and if the SIM card from a 3G phone is used it will cause connectivity issues.

Not familiar with those phones. Try going to your provider's retail store and have them swap the SIM, that's where I'd start. I always request a new SIM card with each new phone, as they do have a shelf life -especially when swapping between two or more devices.

Are you in the US? Which atrix2 are you using?
What I noticed is that the at&t version is so tuned to at&t that it might have issues when you run it over other network because of some small frequency differences.
Previously I was using captivate which was also an at&t phone and I had similar problem but over time, there were several radio firmware that you could flash over and improve (or worsened ) the signal quality.
The atrix2 is not there yet..

Nop, you can proceed with the bootstrap but the thing of having CWM on boot it's that it something goes wrong when you install another rom (boot loop or something similar) is that you can reverse the damage by restoring a backup or flashing a another rom you have.
If you install the bullet rom keep in mind that it comes already with the CWM on boot feature so you don't need bootstrap anymore

Rooting methods are different for each device, but you should probably try using superoneclick or unlock root.

GOogle them, superoneclick is a .zip file you must unzip it and open the application, unlock root is an .exe just execute it. They both are one click root programs. Very simple.
And China phone companies don't have many root prevention security (they don't care) so either one of those should work

That's the stock system recovery. Just used for wiping the phone and applying updates (if they ever release any lol). After rooting, its usually changed to a custom recovery for phones that have enough development, which allows way more options. But that's another matter.
If you REALLY cannot find the drivers (I couldn't either, could barely even find the model.) then your only chances are to root with gingerbreak or z4root, but both were meant for Android 2.3 and below. They're applications, so couldn't hurt to try them, but by now there is a very low chance.
SoC and UR both work amazingly well, maybe you could try contacting not the sellers for the drivers but the manufacturer (chinavision?)

Officially Frustrated

Hey guys, sorry to have to post such a pissy post, but I'm hoping something good will come out of this post. Basically I've been trying to Root my Xoom for months now but unfortunately everything I've tried seems not to work. I've even used LAIOT and it still isn't working. The program says that my tablet is rooted, however any Root Checker program I use says it's not Rooted. And also when I try and use Rom Toolbox, or Rom Manager, both of them say that my device is not rooted. And when I type in command prompt the text to check Root statis manually, it says it IS Rooted? Please help!

where are you at? Did you get it rooted? You might be better off starting from scratch and fastboot the original honeycomb wiping data and then rooting from there.
Additionally, the new twrp recovery 2.4.2.0 can root for you.
