[Q] CRT Animation gone after nightly update (CM10) - AT&T, Rogers HTC One X, Telstra One XL

I know this may sound picky, but do any of you still have the CRT animation when you turn the screen off after flashing the past few CM10 nightlies?
I lost mine and I really like it.

I never had it with jelly bean roms and have been looking for a way to enable it.

i would LOVE to get rid of the CRT Animation. i've turned off my phone before and didn't see the animation, i almost cried a tear of joy that it was finally gone, unfortunately the next time i turned off the screen the animation was back. i think there are some instances that the animation is on or off.

Animation when turning display off

I'm running ARHD 6.6.3. Today I installed AOKP but didn't like it very much so I turned back to ARHD.
There is one thing that I liked very much from AOKP and that is the way the screen turns off when you press the power button to put your phone in sleep mode.
It looks like an old TV when you turn it off making that fine bright line in the middle and contracting very fast.
If anyone knows what I'm talking about and knows if there is a way to have it in ARHD 6.6.3 too, please tell me.
It's been ported to Sense roms but it cause graphic problems. I wouldn't recommend flashing it.
Also, it's called CRT-off and was introduced in Gingerbread AOSP.
Edit: Here it is:

CM10 Lock Animation - TV Out

Please don't hate if I placed this wrong, but I can't post in the dev section yet. Maybe someone here has a quick fix?
Upon clicking the lock button on this ROM the screen either shuts off, or does the "tv out" animation. The tv out seems to be a hit or miss
though. About 20 percent of the time it works, the rest of the attempts the screen just turns off without animation. Anyone else see the same
issue? Is there any quick edits to fix this?
i get that also. i assume it does that because of how it was locked or what was being done before hand. honestly i hate that animation with a passion.

It seems so inconsistent though. Perhaps an option to enable/disable it would be better suited. It annoys me seeing this animation, then wondering why I didn't see it the next time. I personally enjoy it though.

App for locking the screen brightness?

Hashcode and twa_priv both have great ROM's out now, that work wonders with the battery drain in standby. One of my kids gets -15 or less drain when in deep sleep now. Amazing.
But my other daughter, hers keeps spiking up over -120 and higher while using the same rom. I saw that the screen brightness cant be set to 100 or the screen doesn't fully shut off, and that is exactly what is happening. I can still see a dim backlight sometimes when turned off.
I keep changing it to a lower setting, and then she gets great battery life for a while, then something is changing the screen brightness back to 100. She isnt doing it, because I grounded her from it for a couple days, and it still did it when she wasn't even playing. So I wiped everything, clean installed the 01/08 rom fresh today, and it still does it.
Is there an app that will lock the brightness for me? I cant seem to find one.
Thanks!
I had that same issue on my KF repeatedly and found that it was from build.prop changes. Switched to Paranoid Android and the in notification brightness slider has been perfect and the screen off/on issue never came back.

Cool, thanks for the tip!
Once I studied this Kindle closer, you could see the screen backlight come on for a few seconds, then back to sleep, then back on, and back to sleep. A clean install of the latest rom from twa_priv seems to have fixed the problem, he reverted some kernal changes that were causing problems for some users.
Funny that you are in Eustis, I live there and in Mt. Dora for a while, back around 1988 to maybe 1993. I am in Ocala now.

[ROM][JB][4.2.2][N8000][N801X][20130622] CyanogenMod 10.1 - Charging animation

When powered off and charging, there is a crazy streak of a charging battery across the screen. The status of the battery isn't quite intelligible, though there is a lot of green in the streak so it may be charging. Does anybody else have this issue?
For a better mental image, imagine a battery icon in the middle of the screen, then imagine it being smeared horizontally across the screen.
Is there an solution available?

this has been going on since the early release of CM 10.1
Same here, it's irritating (ok it's not the end of the world )! There's no legibility and one has to make sure it's been there for a few hours, so it's indeed 100% fully charged.
Isn't there any custom animation?
Try this
Hi guys
If you are still trying to get your animation working?
I managed to resurect the battery animation on my note 10.1 by replacing the .qmg files in /system/media with the ones from my original firmware. It is necessary to replace the files each time you load a new nightly so I haven't tested this on the latest (November 6) CM10.2 but it worked about two nightly's ago.
I got the same issue on cm11. Now I'm gonna try your solution.
Much thanks!

Moto G Bootscreens

Who'd want to see more of the boot animations they have when you turn it on? in a way id like to see them offer out to the Motorola community to come up with some designs and maybe have 9-16 year olds try draw their own logo of the M and then they create one out of it.

Strangely enough I don't spend that much time powering my phone off and on just to watch a boot animation. Personally I don't see the point of the animation at all

i understand that like if the phone did turn off though it would be amusing to see different things at times, heck if they made it a live wallpaper of sorts that would be amusing a bit
I love the Moto G's stock boot animation. Also, I don't turn my phone off much either (unless I'm using xposed) and the phone only turns off by itself if the battery dies, which is very rare. In fact, the batter only died once and that was when I had gravity screen running the whole night.
The animation is okay but white background is strange to me..

It fits the Google look.............
Just looked inside the apk at the files for the new animation and it seems that after this april fools it will revert to the original with the powered with android logo
The files use 2 videos for the boot animation
One of them is the animation for turning it on and the second is the looping video until the phone is fully set up
Each animation is 8 seconds long and are organised by 01_intro and 02_loop. This current animation will finish on the 4th of april.
