I use mi7ROM on my Omnia 7... just love it. However I´n not using any of the Nokia Apps at all any longer. The main reason I use this ROM is because I get my native language with it. I can´t get that with the stock ROM. Also... it´s fully unlocked and I really want that!
I know that I can change the marketplace to Samsung... but is there any reg-tweak to change my phone back to Samsung Omnia 7? I want the Samsung Branding back... as close to original as possible. As of now it´s a Nokia 800...
Thanx!

Windows Phone doesn't support Flash. It supports H.264 like iOS (iPhone).

It doesn't have as many apps as the App Store, but the essentials are there.

The browser doesn't experience any lag at all. Scrolling and pinch-to-zoom is butter smooth.

I have to say I like my Windows Phone (Focus) more than any iOS (iPhone 3GS) and Android (Atrix 4G) devices I've ever used.

I don't have answers for all but I do for some.
#2 Yes, market place is preloaded. However unlocking the phone and sideloading is a nice feature to learn.
#3 Yes, explorer is fairly good. I have had some occasional lagg but on a scale of 1-10 I give a 8/10. I'm a firefox fan myself.
#4 I'm on the fence, granted I have had it only a week. I have the HTC-HD7, some things I don't like are that A. my carrier, Microsoft and HTC have worked very hard to keep me from tethering B. (and this is exclusively my fault) my phone is not 4G capable despite being "the lastest and greatest" C. WP7 is nothing like WM6.5, you can't natively browse your phone OS and system files. I don't like this because I frequently put valuable data on my previous phone (HTC Harold) for safe keeping.
Honestly? The OS is very nice, I am a windows phone fan. However because of the tethering issues I have (finally figured out how to do it just recently) I am considering invoking my buyers remorse and trading in for a HTC Sensation4G, because the phone is specifically designed for tethering. But like I said I have some specific issues and some of them are my fault for not doing my homework before buying.
i'm waiting for nokia with wp7
Hello
Iwould like to know if its possible to jailbreak my Dell ? Or to install a new Rom (as developer)
System nummer: 7.0.7392.0
Firmware:2250,1800.7392.212
Is that possible to to somethink?
A downgrade?
I wish I had an answer, Bump!!!
Bump ?
Can somebody explain the method?
There is no chance to jailbrake this phone now, because after update Chevron doesn't save, there is now flash mode like HTC, so u won't be able upload any custom rom, there is no registry editor and other critical features... Dell needs strong community like HTC to done it... You'll be able only to upgrade your phone to mango RTM 7720 as other devices... Good Luck!
To me when I hear jailbreak I think of the iOS where you get all apps for free from the marketplace. I don't like doing that. If you're wanting your phone unlocked to do sideloading then all that info is right here in this forum. I've side-loaded plenty so it should be pretty easy to find. I just don't like the term jailbreaking even if that's not what you meant.
You can but you will need a student developers acc but that's it you can't do it any other way and max apps you can have are 3
i can't find any jailbreak steps for my phone, can any one help here, in the model says Samsung SGH-i667, but it looks like the Omnia W, same specs, and so on
i try to jailbreak with all the tools that i used for the focus, but no luck, i try usb mass storage steps like the omnia 7 , but didnt go, i wonder if i can downgrade safe, since it comes with mango 7.5, plus has other options like call block, internet sharing, plus other.
if any one would like to provide any help. if i am one with this model we will see more people to get this device soon
By "jailbreak" I assume you mean dev-unlock. I'd suggest either getting a developer account from MS ($100, unless you're a student in which case it's free through DreamSpark) or waiting for ChevronWP7 Labs, which will be cheap but nobody knows when it will be available. For that matter, just find somebody who has official unlock, and ask them to unlock your phone for long enough to install the tools required to prevent the phone from re-locking (which are also required to run homebrew on Mango).
I doubt you're going to find a pre-NoDo ROM that can be flashed to your device, but if you do you could use ChevronWP7 Unlock. It's possible to carry unlocks through the official updates if you do that. No idea what ROMs are available for Samsung devices, sorry.
We have no idea what a Samsung SGH-i667 is. The Omnia W is Samsung GT-8350
Would you post an image?
but in the about, says Samsung i677 ..?

Guys, we found a way how to flash a ROM with an open one.
But we need these files, that are NOT free:
http://translate.google.com/translate?u=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.ligtelgsm.com.br%2Fdownloads%2Fclass%2Findex.php%3Fcat%3D63%26sub%3D76%26prog%3D4646%26action%3Dview&hl=pt-PT&langpair=auto%7Cen&tbb=1&ie=ISO-8859-1
I can buy it for 21 USD, but will anybody participate?
3 or 5 USD? Do you agree?
The procedure is this: http://dl.dropbox.com/u/2524490/ScreenShots/I677.pdf
Hi all.
I've had an Omnia 7 for a few months now, having upgraded from an HTC HD2, and to be honest, i just dont like it. not that there'sanything wrong with wp7, i just prefer having good old windows mobile 6.5. and i may as well be honest, i only got wp7 for the zune. and now that i have a regular zune, i was wondering if there was any way at all to flash a custom rom of wm 6.5 to my omnia 7?
thanks in advance for any information you care to share. oh and by the way im stil fairly new here (in the sense i havet used my account) so if ive posted in the wrong area please let me know and ill delete the thread accordingly.
Hi all
I recently switch from HTC wildfire S to Lumia 710.
I hated the battery life in android and I missed ... I don't know what I have missed
anyways, I got lumia 710 and Im dissapointed?
is there any way I can change Menu to TOTALLY customized? The choices that nokia is giving me on the phone aren't satysfying, are rather upsetting.
I miss the android customization. is there any similiar application/system I can put on the Lumia and enjoy it more?
I'm new to this forum so would be grateful for pointers and simpliest instructions where to go and what to do..
thanks alot.
ani_mal
No, you can not change very windows phone 7, since it is a closed operating system. Android is more customizable due to its open source nature
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using xda premium
U should flash ur phone. It gives u many options to modify start screen for example.
And with 710 flashing is pretty simple to do.
Newest 7.8 works like a charm including all features what original rom has and more (zune, navigator, maps, internet sharing and so on)
