Did you read the Mod installation guide ? I did what the guy said, but anyway thx for the reply, I solved the problem by wiping everything (including SD-EXT) and installed rom without Mod. I think that Mod is not compatible with this ROM

I'm using this combination now. Make sure that you flash the rom first. Then, before you boot, install the mod. Boot phone and then reboot to recovery. Flash the other script. It should work, then. Read DavisNT's instructions carefully and follow exactly. Watch the output of the flashing and make sure it says success. If it doesn't, it won't work.
Good luck.

DavisNT is the guy who made that mod. Read the first post very carefully again -- he gives very detailed instructions on how to install this mod. Anyway, now that you have the ROM installed, do the following instructions (to quote from his thread):
1. Flash sd-ext_patch-signed-vXX.zip via Recovery.
2. Flash to_sd-ext_patch-signed-vXX.zip via Recovery.
Do it in exactly the order listed above, and nothing else. DavisNT's mod works perfectly fine with Ginger Snap -- I've used it before.

Is that all ?? Ok, thx dude, I will flash now and i will come with a reply

Oh, and I guess I forgot to mention (though I suppose it should be obvious) that you need to have 2nd partition on your SD card that's formatted to EXT3/EXT4.

I flash the mod and it's working great. I have 2nd partition on sd card, but is EXT2

Ext2 is fine. Most people use ext3/4 since those are the newer filesystems (and have better protection against data corruption), but ext2 works just as well.

Need tool to access my phone via PC
I have accidentally installed a theme that is probably of higher resolution than my phone screen. Now in locked mode the unlocking option/pattern/graphics is not visible as it is 'spilling out of screen'. Android debugging is on in my device (thankfully). Please suggest me a tool/method using which i can control the phone using PC(or atleast unlock the phone). I (obviously) cannot install anything on my phone, i found some such apps that need installation on phone.
Last option is to flash my phone in recovery with a ROM, but i dont want to do that if other ways possible. my phone is on MIUI ROM developed on 26/9/12

[ROM][CWM] Stock Deodexed KD1

Please Read Full OP before Continuing
This is a 100% stock ROM, Only its deodexed by Me. All bloat is Still Included i The only thing i changed is included the Modded Recovery (so its CWM ready) .
I've Flashed and Tested this Multiple times, you should have no problems as long as your Read this post and follow instructions.
Always, Keep a Backup.. Via CWM
Disclaimer: I am not Responsible If something goes wrong and your phone blows up, (not likely)
Flash though CWM
*The CWM that comes from ROM manager seems to have a problem. When Wiping/Factory Resetting CWM freezes at sdcard/.android_secure, then you'd have to pull battery. it may also have a problem Restoring backups, stopping at sdcard/.android_secure. If you used CWM from ROM manager and had No problems then congrats, But i recommend you download the update.zip (i renamed to CWM3XX.zip so it doesnt replace the CWM you already have) i attached to this post incase you run into these problems, then from CWM you can flash the CWM3XX.zip and it will Flash a CWM that has No problems at all, this CWM i got from Krylon360 before it was Added to ROM Manager. it would be smart to keep that on your SD Until this issue is addressed.
Instructions -
- Put zip file in your /sdcard
- Reboot into cwm recovery
- Wipe Data/Factory Reset
- Wipe Cache Partition
*Now before you Flash*
MAKE SURE YOUR MOUNTS LOOK LIKE THIS: (Go to mounts and storage from CWM recovery)
UNMOUNT CACHE
MOUNT DATA
MOUNT SDCARD
UNMOUNT SYSTEM
- Now its safe to Flash the .zip
after you flash, go back to mounts and storage (before rebooting) and make sure your mounts look like this
UNMOUNT CACHE
MOUNT DATA
UNMOUNT SDCARD
UNMOUNT SYSTEM
System Needs to be set to Unmount, though it would really be mounted. If you do Not do this you will have a softbrick and will have to ODIN to stock and start all over ....
Download ROM here >>>> Download
This ROM is NOT rooted.. you can use OneClickRoot to root your phone after installing this ROM.. See the Guide that i Posted Here to Root ; it takes less than 5 mins.

I had asked this before sorry, but it seems that it's not the best route to go with now so I just wana make sure. Rooting via the one click then getting clockwork through rom manager is giving people trouble it seems. So what would be the most noob friendly way to go about flashing your rom.
quick question , is this a full custom rom w/ a custom theme ?
cause you said heavily custom .

Root from one click root.
Then go to the thread krylon made for CWM.. and do as the OP says. Push modded recovery file to system/bin and put the update.zip on the root of your SD. Download the one in krylons post and not from ROM manager. Then from stoc recovery reinstall packages and CWM will come up.
Then you can proceed to installing this ROM, make sure you read all of the instructions carefully.

[Q] flashed wrong kernal on my xoom 3.1

I am new to this posting and asking questions. I have a xoom and rooted it and updated it with 3.1 and then I went and updated it with the new rom which came out the other day. I did something studpid and didn't wait for the resolution to the sdcard not being seen after flashing the new deodex rom. I looked on the kernal manager and when I what I thought was the latest kernal I decided to flash it. I now can only get to recovery mode and I don't want to make another mistake. Can someone tell me if I can safely do a wipe data/factory reset? Will that get me back so I can flash the deodex rom back? You dev guys are really awesome and I really appreciate all of your work. Thank you for your support.

If you can get to recovery, just re-flash the rom, it includes its own kernel.
Ok I will and let you know if I am successful. Thank you
I tried to use recovery but my xoom won't see the sd card. I have adb running but really am afraid to use it without some help. Don't want to brick my xoom. I have the kernal zip but don't 1.4.4 and thought if I could flash the kernal to my xoom that would maybe fix it. I read somewhere that you shouldn't flash a zip file, so I don't know what to do. any help would be appreciated. Thank you

Please don't flash any xip file through adb! Why not go into RomManager app and look for an earlier version of recovery, maybe 3.0.2.5, and flash that. A good recovery should allow you to flash from your sdcard through clockwork mod recovery.
I can't get to the rom manager app. Am I missing something? The OS won't boot up and I only have version 4 of the clockwork recovery. What should I do?

There is your problem, you did not read the warnings...DO NOT USE CWM 4.

OK, Thank you very much,,, I will be more careful in the future. I am back up and running the new rom with an older recovery. That taught me a good lesson never to install an earlier version of a kernal and never to try and flash a .zip file from adb. Thank you for the instructions. Is there a book for "adb for dummies"? [Q] recovery v5.0.0.8 for the Sensation link not working

Hi there,
I am working through the Guide to Unlocking your Sensation and the link to recovery v5.0.0.8 for the Sensation is not working.
Is there another place I can download the file?
Any help is greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Lizzie.
Edit:
Looks like someone updated the MultiUpload Link. Thanks guys!
You may download it from here: http://download.clockworkmod.com/recoveries/ Just search for ....pyramid.img and flash from fastboot.
But I suggest you to get the latest v 5.0.2.0. Works fine in every aspect.

Edit : WrongForum ....
may i ask how to flash the .img file?
I'm using the guide to S-OFF etc...
It states to use recovery v5.0.0.8.
A file called PG58IMG, I cant find this, I've S-OFF'd and I'm looking to update and then use recovery.
What's the best file? Does it need to be the Zip file?

I have uploaded CWM 5.0.2.0 here: http://www.axifile.com/en/EC384AC809
MD5: 85b5f10c9afe33fb50396bd5f54bc7de
I just flashed it on my phone and it seemed to work fine, I was on 5.0.2.0 and still am ;-)
I uploaded and downloaded it and it's the same MD5 as the one on my phone that worked.
Just rename to PG58IMG.zip boot up from scratch (Power and Vol -), vol + to flash. When it wants to reboot after flashing pop the SD-card out and rename it after booting.
I came across this, it might be abit outdated but I'm guessing it'll work fine.

If you Superwipe all data/apps on the phone will be zapped, the SD card should remain intact.

Yes, that was my exact feeling. I mean if you get a brand new £250 phone, then your not going to mess around with it, are you? No. You are going to try and get the prefect amount of information and clarity so you know you won't mess up.

In the ARHD (mike's) thread there is a SuperWipe script in the downloads. Use that when changing between ROM flavours, or if recommended by the dev when changing versions. E.g., VI from 2.0.0 -> 3.0.0 required a SuperWipe.
MAKE sure you take regular Nandroid backups before/after you changing anything.

That's precisely it, I've had my Sensation for a while now and want to get the full user-experience from it. I know it is irritating for you guys to have to answer the same Q&A's over and over again, I did try reading everything but with so many answers and so many flavours it's a bit overwhelming.
I might write a guide from a noobs perspective (for noobs) on what to do...

Oh right ok, well I've been advised to change my recovery to EXT4, which I'll do tomorrow. Nandroid backups, is that when I go into HBOOT and choose Recovery? That's a good idea. So when I do go to update my ROM to ARHD 6.xxx for ICS I'll use Superwipe to clear out my app etc... So by using recovery I'll keep my app data/saves etc?

[Q] Help, boot loop here?

I wanted to flash to ARHD 6.3
This is my first time.. I managed to S off.. But then the bootloop began after I flashed PG58IMG.zip via fastboot.
Step 1. To S-OFF your Sensation - (You do not need to do this if you have S-off already or done this before) - WORKING NOW for TMOUS users
Visit
download the application for your operating System. AND EXTRACT IT TO A FOLDER
YOU MAY NEED TO DISABLE YOUR ANTIVIRUS PROGRAM- Norton is flagging up Revolutionary as a Virus when it isn't
IMPORTANT
Fill out the form under the download links with your OS, Device, Hboot Version and Serial number. This will give your beta key to enable you to S - OFF. Make a note of this.
How To get your Hboot Version - 3 methods below
1. [/url] and if it has found your device it should read
"Found your Device: HTC Sensation Z710* Applications -> Development)
4. With the phone switched on (not in HBOOT, just the regular home screen), plug in your USB cable and select HTC sync mode.(IGNORE any warning messages on your phone telling you it cannot find HTC Sync )
5. Launch revolutionary.exe. It should detect the phone and ask for your beta key. Type it (BE CAREFUL, as its case sensitive) or copy and paste it in.
If Revolutionary fails to find your phone verify you have all the drivers installed, try disk drive mode or charging mode (Linux users can use disk drive mode. Confirmed to be working by others)
6. Once you have entered your beta key correctly, follow any on screen prompts or actions from revolutionary and wait for it to S-Off,
7. You're done. Your Device will Successfully have S-OFF....if it hangs on method 3 and doesn't S-Off. See post 2 below for solutions.
IF REVOLUTIONARY SAYS FAILED YOUR PHONE IS NOT SUPPORTED. Go back and check hboot using the methods above. some users are told its failed and they still have S off now. If you have S-off your hboot will now be 1.17.1011 and revolutionary will tell you now your device is not supported
8. Revolutionary will now ask you to Install clockwork recovery mod after S OFF. Type N and install it manually below (the recovery provided is v4.0.1.4 doesn't charge when device is switched off, the one below v5.0.0.1 does charge)
9. Your Device now is S-off.
To install clockwork recovery for the sensation. Follow step 2!
STEP 2. To INSTALL Recovery - v5.0.0.8
1. Download recovery v5.0.0.8 for the Sensation HERE: or Multiupload
2. Copy the PG58IMG file into the Root folder of your SD card (The main Folder of your Memory Card)
3. Turn off your phone FUlly and reboot into the Bootloader/HBOOT screen (see post above on how to get to hboot screen)
4. Press Volume up to Accept when it asks" Do you want to start the update"
5. Press Power Off to Reboot back to android after installation is successful (normal screen with homescreen)

Hi,
Just as a matter of interest.
Do you still have a PG58IMG.zip on your sd card?
If so ,delete it.
Then it may boot into your ROM...

oh i've read that as well so i have deleted it manually by using sd adapter.. then reinserted it back n tried to boot normally.. but to no avail.. what's the root cause of this eh?
when i gained s off, i still can boot into my ROM.. however disaster happens when i flashed the .zip files obtained as per instructions..
oh but directly after i've flashed it, i didn't remove the .zip files n tried to immediately reboot into ROM.. does this make a difference?

Hi,
Did you complete the s-off thread by rooting and getting SuperCID?

good question..
immediately after s off, i boot into my ROM and tried to install busybox and other apps that requires superuser or root but failed and stating that my device was still not rooted..
so i proceed to install a recovery (in this case its ext4 recovery) but failed to find a .zip installer (but managed to find the .apk and .img version but afraid to proceed considering the extension wasn't the same as per guide's PG5...ZIP). so i tried to simply install cwm as per stated in the guide. coz i know after recovery is installed, only then i would be able to install the su zip files.
then it boot looped.. n here we are trying to shoot all of these troubles.. XD
and if my understanding was wrong, pls correct me. thanks!
only after you sent me the links i managed to install ext4 recovery via a much easier method using cmd.exe..
n that also means that i wasn't even able to follow through the supercid part of the guide..

wait a moment, i dont know if things are making more sense to me but, is it possible that this was caused by a wrong firmware? i just figured out my cid and its htc_044 and there are 4 different version of firmware for this cid, so should i try each of it until my phone boots to my original ROM?
Update: Oh God, I'm in such a relief! Thank God it works now. I flashed the firmware 1.17 n now am able to boot back into my ROM. Now i'm gonna get things backed up n will proceed. phew thanks so much for helping me out. The cause was maybe the zip files werent compatible with mine. So i check my cid n mid, n downloaded what might be the original one. so now its fixed..

Non rooted, CWM installed, Cyanogen hangs.

This is killing me!
I used HTCDev on my Sensation and unlocked it. Then I used fastboot to install CWM. It worked fine. I went to recovery, wiped the data/factory reset and also wiped the cache. (Note: when wiping the data, an error did occur that said make_extf4fs failed), somehow I didn't notice that and so I flashed a CyanogenMod 9 on to it. Now Cyanogen just hangs at boot.
What can I do now? Is this because I didn't root it? (I thought being able to install CWM would suffice!)
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
You need to flash the boot.img using fast boot or install 4 EXT Recovery and enable smatflash. Go have a read here and you should be able to solve you issue.
after flashing cwm did you flash superuser to give you root?

I just did everything in that post and I was able to flash two ROMs (Cyanogen and Android Revolution HD). But both of them had the same problem that made me want to flash the whole thing in the first place!!: The network and the Wifi don't work!
I tried this: http://forum.cyanogenmod.com/topic/22773-wireless-and-radio-issues-with-70x/ but that didn't help either.

Sorry, my bad. the network works (I hadn't put back the cover then), but the wifi doesn't work!! It just can't detect any access point.
Thank you all. It worked. It turns out that Wifix wasn't able to fix the issue automatically and I had to manually set my country code.
