Hey guys, I'm using the CM10 Rom right now and I was wondering if there was any ways to improve the performance of the Infuse. I checked geekbench and got a score of around the 330s. I tried the supercharger and things still seem quite slow, and often games lag and kill my battery.. Any help?

Install Scotts custom kernel and clock it to 1600mhz. Also, clean out all the unnecessary crap to make the ROM lighter. I typically look at what's loaded in memory to see what would be good to un-install with Titanium that is not needed.

I'm sorry, but I'm rather new. Where would I find this? I tried looking for it and I see no one labeled as Scott
Scott is the man who brought us cm10.
Look in the cm10 OP for the OC kernel and flash it on cwm.

The guy who makes CM10 available for the Infuse is named Scott. He means the OC kernel 3_1. It's in the OP. To overclock, (once you have flashed the ROM), go to Settings --> System --> Performance.
Use these settings under Processor:
1. CPU Govorner: SmartassV2
2. CPU Maximum: 1600 Mhz
3 CPU Minimum: 100 Mhz
4. Checkmark "Set On Boot"
Use these settings under I/O Scheduler:
1. IO Scheduler: NOOP
2. Checkmark "Set On Boot"
Use these settings under Memory Management:
1. Checkmark "Allow Purging of Assets"
2. Checkmark "Kernel Samepage Merging"
Use these settings under Surface Improvement:
1. Select radio button labled "Fix Color Banding and Blur Effect"
Exit settings by pressing "Back" until you get to homescreen.
Reset your device.
Enjoy a fast phone.
Don't ***** about battery life if you use these settings.

Does it do the same thing as Zeppenlinrox's Supercharged scripts?
No, it seems to work better - I had with zeppelin's script about 50MB free ram, now I have 80MB...awesome - my phone works so much better without any performance decrease...
Trying it now. Do you recommend using it with hard to kill launcher setting? Or just return that to normal?
This script changes memfree and VM values although I do not fully understand what the script is doing.
I've been using it for a few days and I see no changes what-so-ever, good nor bad.

Well,i used the script with zeppelinrox' script and it seems they work brilliantly together:20-30mb more ram
I don't see how it clears up RAM without removing applications from it =/ .
Here works pretty well (and it's not a placebo effect)! The phone rurs better... everywhere! )
definately works. just test loading apps and switch between to see which stay open. you'll notice too there should be smoother overall performance, for example when resuming from sleep. ive also asked the guy directly and the lower frequency of android os ram cleanouts mean battery improvements. i find it for some reason better than zepplins.
i use 6.1 and have home and mms locked in mem and this script running. with no script/zepplins id be unable to watch a flash stream, answer a text and keep the flash vid running, with this i can, its great!

it removes certain apps after sleeping when in background i think. things like maps/nav/streams stay open though
Gaming wise this script fails, cut the rope hangs and is so laggy but on normal cronos gingerbrad its good.
Apart from that this script is amazing! Get 80mb free with 2 apps running (and keyboard and services!)

In overall it gives snappier performance on my stone with CGMM ROM.
I would like to try this script with MIUI 1.7.1. I flashed MIUI 1.7.1 before and got 4 reboots within an hour with all the apps sit inside the ext2 partition that cost 60Mb+ RAM. I'm not hoping multi-tasking on MIUI with this script. It will be already good enough if this script can help to run those 60Mb+ RAM background services without reboot on MIUI.
applied the script on FroyoMOD.No changes.

Apart from the aggressive minfree/lowmemory killer setting, they are all sysctl tweaks.
You can get those plus more in AOR's kernel tuning menu item.
In V8 SuperCharger, I will be using the best sysctl tweaks, 3g tweaks, io scheduler tweaks (noop) and tell android that the phone doesn't have a hard drive lol
I'll probably put in the SD card tweak with a user selectable value (pick from 1 to 3 or whatever)
That way, I don't have to assume what works best for the user and the user can screw with it lol
There's more, but I forget right now...

Well, I had stopped working on it because I kept on perfecting V6.
But it's functional with the user selectable colours and what I have added so far... the 3G TurboCharger (usually build.prop tweaks but I'm screwing with local.prop) and that Overclocker that we had discussed previously.
The Overclocker won't make the final though because it's not universally applicable but I will probably make a Milestone version that includes it or make a "Zeppelinrox's Milestone Toolbox" script lol
Oh yeah, I want to add something called "Lock 'n Load Apps"

Hello,
Does anyone with a Nexus S have experience with running the Supercharger script here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=991276
I was hoping to share experiences here and try to find the best settings that work for everyone. I just tried it for the first time today and am currently using the "512hp Unledded" settings, will report back with results after I've had a chance to use the phone for a while.
In the meantime, if anyone is using this script, please do share your experience here.
Thanks!
I've used settings 6 and 9. Tbh I don't noticeuch of a difference with or without it. A solid kernel does alot of what the script does. And I can lock the launcher through cm7. Did however make a substantial difference on my epics available ram.
Sent from my Nexus S 4G using Tapatalk
I've been running ZuluZulu 1.3.1 (it's pretty old but still works great typically) with Trinity's TEUV kernel at 800MHz and I CONSTANTLY get launcher redraws. I'm hoping this script can fix the problem. Maybe it's just a placebo effect, but I feel like my phone is a tiny bit snappier.
I have noticed that free RAM went from typically 70-75MB free at all times before the script to now about 80-85MB free at all times. I've switched to 512hp balanced settings since 1000hp aggressive was killing all my apps too quickly - messaging and exchange email, both of which i use constantly, were always getting killed so I dialed it back to 512hp balanced for now.
Thanks.
My available ram without it currently is usually 120 to 150, I'm on newest cm7 nightly. Perhaps you have alot more going on on your phone then I do, but you may want to try out a different rom perhaps, and see if you benefit. I'm using tuv10, and my redraws are minimal, don't have launcher locked atm.

Been running 512hp unledded (balanced) setting for close to a day now, I'm happy to report that my launcher redraws are 100% gone! Not a single one yet!
EDIT: Btw I'm running GO launcher and i have unchecked the "keep home in memory" options as the script suggested. It's working great so far.

Yeah I have too many apps that are running services all the time, it's kind of annoying.. I may give TUV10 a try too, although i'm digging the battery savings from teuv and ezekeel's deep sleep.
It may be time to go back to CM as well.

On the GO launcher home screen, go to Menu - Preferences - Advanced Settings and then uncheck "System Persistent" and "Prevent Force Close".
Then run this script and pick the 512hp balanced setting, save and exit.
Boom, launcher redraws gone

Is that really NO redraw? I'm close to no redraw, but let's say I play a game for a while and exit i'll get a 5ish seconds redraw. Same if I surf the web using Dolphin for a while and I play a flash game in it. :/
Edit: The script changed and I don't have the same options as before. What are the values next to the option you're using? :/

I have been TRYING to get it redraw to see where it breaks, but it just won't do it I open up a few apps and hit home quickly, this usually used to make the launcher redraw, but it won't do it anymore.
On the script - just pick the 512hp balanced - i don't remember the settings exactly, but amongst the ones I've tested, this one is working pretty good for stability and multitasking.

That's the thing, the one I got from the thread, update 8, doesn't have those same options anymore.
I'm using #6 512 HP ledded and #12 hard to kill. Working great so far only redraw I had is when I was moving an app from SD to phone and backed out of the menu quickly while it was in the middle of moving. Very impressed so far.
Now trying #5,#13

Hi what is the best app for overclocking the Xperia Play i have only rooted and have a locked bootloader if that helps
I personally like SetCPU. It lets you create profiles for apps, so you can have your cpu run at a higher speed when playing games etc.
SetCPU.
It's very flexible, intuitive and it let to create custom profiles (when is connected to USB, screen off, call or using a specified app)
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.mhuang.overclocking
Will Setcpu work on the stock kernel (2.3.4)?
Must boot loader unlocked for over clock.then install setcpu.

I think it will, but u can only set frequency between the factory values (~250-1000mhz). To go below or above you must install a custom kernel. I prefer Doomkernel, because you can set speed up to 2 ghz.
I would suggest loading DoomKernel, but first you need to have your bootloader unlocked.
hey guy,
have you tried "system tuner pro" yet ?
by that apk you can change CPU , tweaks , task manager , start up setting , SD booster ,....
please check that, that's realy useful
I use no-frills CPU
no problems here, and I think profiles are pointless since that's what governors are for.
Although I love Instigator's Kernel, I believe that it is time to move on from the aging kernel code.
I have started to use the stock kernel with the Paranoid Android by gs2usr, but I wanted more options to my cpu usage so I got set cpu.
Now my question is, will set cpu interfere with the performance settings originally in CM10? I have set the setcpu governor to the same gorvernor in the performance settings. The addition I have is the profile at certain battery points. Did anyone experience anything that caused the app and the CM10 settings to interfere each other causing even more waste in battery?? (like putting teo anivirus software on one computer? )

Best option is to stick to the performance setting built into Cm10 because it's had all the correct paths on how to adjust the kernel properly .
I don't use set CPU anymore I now use system.tuner pro as an alternate that's it

From what I've been reading the performance module in cm10/aokp is still a bit iffy, but I do agree with the system tuner pro recommendations
So I tried looking for a general discussion thread about phone configs, but couldn't find anything... so I went ahead and made one myself.
Kernel and ROM:
I'm currently using @android1234567's CM10.2 build with the hacky 624MB kernel....
who cares if he's taken a few shortcuts.... I can multitask a lot better on this kernel than on his 598MB one or on any other 4.3 build.
Software and Mods:
1. Xposed. The newest Xposed is awesome.... older versions of the framework gave me significant lag.... don't seem to have any with this version.
2. Greenify with the donation features.
3. BootManager and RecieverStop xposed modules. They seem to make a huge difference in how well the phone performs by changing the apps that get triggered at startup and by certain intents.
4. Seeder. I actually feel that it might not be that useful, but activating it made me feel that things were a tiny bit faster, so I run it anyway regardless of the CPU load.
5. TricksterMod. Set CPU frequency to 192-1512 MHz and GPU at 266 MHz with Intellidemand CPU governor and Ondemand GPU governor.
This is perhaps the best setup I've had with my Sensation, with things at their snappiest.
Please feel free to discuss about your phone's setup, be it Sense or NonSense.
I was hoping to see a thread like this so we could get the most out of our phones!
ROM & Kernel in signature.
MOD; The Sense 5 MOD.. Don't really like it tbh. Too lazy to re-flash ROM currently to remove it.
Some apps that I use;
Link2SD. Just good overall app for managing other applications and such!
Greenify.
SD Maid. Easy SD-card cleaning tool.
That's it for now.. I could use some more apps
Anyways, I am really interested in this ''Seeder''..
Does it really work?
I guess I gotta give it a try.
1. Note: Not all of us can see your signature (XDA or Tapatalk app users)
2. Does anyone still use the Boot Manager app to run multiple ROMs? I purchased the Pro version years ago when I had my Evo. https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.drx2.bootmanager&hl=en
3. Currently using ViperS 3.1.2 but switch between MIUI and CM10.2 when I get the itch...

It does work, but the general consensus is that it's CPU use and battery drain outweigh the minor performance gains.
Try it out, but I'd rather recommend the Xposed modules I listed...

My current setup:
- Revelation 1.0.2 with KSM disabled
- SuperSU, just because it handles SU requests a lot better than anything else
- ViperFX, best audio effects mod in my opinion

- AdAway 2.7 just because
- Clean Master. Ridiculously well done for a free app; automated app2sd functionality, backup and restore apps, clean junk files, etc.
- Xposed with Icon Themer, Boot Manager, XVolume30 and Xprivacy
