Thats what i was thinking buddy. U dont have enough space in ur system partition rom. Check it 0. Just uninstall unwanted app using titanium backup and then install super user again. Bt beware dont wipe anything. After installation of super user just download and install below mention kernel using cmw.

+ Custom GB dialers pads update with better pics +

Here are some dialerstabactivity.apk I tweaked a little bit for gb roms. Got tired of the stock GB dialer pad.
I remember Lenny hodapp introduced us to his dialers he made for froyo, so I figured let me give it a shot for gb.
Extract the apk file and drop it in system/app using root explorer or equivalent. Make sure you back up the old one as you may not like them.
Is not much, but I figure I can contribute in some way.

Are you renaming the stock dialer or moving it to sd card? If your renaming it you have to put something after the .apk like dialertabactivity.apk1

[Q] Samsung infuse help. boot animation.

Ok. Guys, Ive rooted my samsung infuse along time ago with one of your guy's package deals via odin
Firmware 2.3.6
baseband of course i997 uclb3
kernel 2.6.35.7- i997ruxkg3- cl366622
Build Gingerbread.uclb3
is this a kit i can change my boot animation with or not ? ive tried everything i could possibly think of, and i know this is probably covered in here lol. its getting hard to find what your looking for here :cyclops: ive used bac lite and rom manager to no avail.... hell i cant even tell what rom manager is doing ( if anything) im not the most tech savey person but im no dummy dum dum either..<
not open for jokes lol. can someone point me in the right direction or should i change my rom n kernel package. this one is awful stable id hate to change it.. but for the greater good im willing please help!!
sanim.zip or bootanim.zip on the sdcard somewhere... replace it manually i think... I'm sure this has been discussed before just run a search here on xda
I have searched.. not extremely hard tho. I have the bootanimation.zip file on the sd card I have one on the root of the sd card and I have a copy of it in system media I even renamed it to bootanimation. Qmg like my factory one but nothing. I somehow deleted my factory boot loop. Which doesn't bother me at all. I just wanna run BIOS or anything really... this is all Greek to me.
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I997 using xda app-developers app
Ok. I've placed boot animation on the root of after card renamed sanim. Zip and nothing I've tried recovery install zip from sd. I've tried both the bootanimation.zip and sanim.zip. fail.... I'm probably about to give up on it...

Since your phone is rooted, if you have Root Explorer apps, open it the go to directory where your bootanmination.zip copy and paste into this directory " /system/media/ " make sure r/o is enabled and not r/w on your Root Explorer, if you want to backup your old boot animation rename to ex. bootanimation.zip.bak, Hope this one helps..

OK so I renamed like yours. Did all that n. Nothing.....
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I997 using xda app-developers app
Try sanim.zip ...are you using stock kernel? Maybe try flashing a kernel like zens or entropys...I know with Zen you have to name it bootanimation.zip...not sure if entropys are bootanimation or sanim
Also when you reboot are you still getting the stock boot animation or a blank screen? If your getting stock bootanimation then your zip is named wrong, or the kernel doesn't support it. If your boot anamation is black or blank then its named right but there is something wrong with boot animation itself...
Sent from my HTC PH39100 using xda app-developers app
No I get blank screen have since I deleted the stock one...
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I997 using xda app-developers app
OK I renamed ur way still nothing... it just go to the blank screen. Same shyt it's done since I deleted the bootloop thing about a month ago.. I deleted thinking it was a for sure thing and bam nothing. Okay well wats the best way to flash a kernel? I haven't tried just changing kernels.. supposedly this rom n kernel is good to go...
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I997 using xda app-developers app
I officially give up. I'll probably just change my entire setup...
I don't want to but none of these are working and I just want this phone setup my way.... so in not so many words lameage!!!!!
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I997 using xda app-developers app
Thunk maybe the boot animation might be the issue? Have you had it working before? What device is it from? What animation is it?
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I747 using Tapatalk 2
Looking at the OP's first post, looks like they are using the stock kernel.
What was the stock one that you deleted named? It has to be the same name...maybe it was ATT_bootanimation.zip -that's what it is on my vivid...
Also flashing a kernel is easy...if you have cwm just download the zip and flash like you woul flash a Rom but only wipe cache and dalvic cache
If you don't have cwm then download sgs kernel flasher from playstore, extract the zimage from the zip and flash the zimage using the app
And make sure that it is a working bootanimation...when you unzip it it should have 1 txt file called desc (I think) and folders named part00-part0"x" "x" representing a diffrent number. The zip can not be compressed...it has to be in a store setting
Sent from my HTC PH39100 using xda app-developers app
No I remember deleting bootloop.zip I believe or stockbootloop... maybe I should revert to stock and start over?...

Q&A Thread for Unofficial ParanoidAndroid

Just as the title states, this is the Q&A thread for the Unofficial ParanoidAndroid Jellybean ROM. Please post all of your questions and non-dev related comments here... Thanks!
Running real smooth for me, no random reboots or anything. I have LZ set to on demand and this sucker is fast lol. I was surprised the battery life was as good as it was being so snappy like that. I even have auto brightness, auto sync'ing, weather apps, and more and still got well over a day with over 2 hours with the screen on.

I would strongly suggest it. Just make a good backup first. You know you can use cwm to make a full backup, then use advance restore to restore apps (data)... or you can also use a 3rd party app like titanium...

you have to be rooted for deleting system apps.
deleting the mentioned app will disable the energysaver function which you can open in your drag down bar.
its not bad for the phone. you only have to know which apps are necessary for the phone and which not.
I'm rootet and deleted lots of bloatware I didn't need and my phone is running smoooooth like hell (and stable) now.
And it will be good for battey life too, because there will be less apps which consume battery in the background.
the most important thing is that you delete the right apps.
I deleted apps like friendstream, twitter, some livewallpapers and skins, skydrive, htc media link, google+, google messenger, google tasks, ringtone cutter .. and much more.
I just go to Settings-Apps-All, find 'Power' and untick 'Show Notifications' at the top. That way it doesn't show up in status bar or notifications even when enabled.

If you delete them you cant use the energysaving Option anymore.

Ah ok, the option is available to me for some reason. Running Viper2.1, but it also works on ASBS. Sorry, don't know why.
I have S4 but it seems to be down to the Rom itself. Must be the stock Rom that you are on.

Hello,
I was wondering if you have rebooted your phone since you deleted the apk and odex file? Since you are running stock 4.1.1 It has write protection on the system partition and the changes might get reverted back.

[Q] Help a n00b with flashing. :(

First of all, hello! And yes, I'm a n00blet.
I have an AT&T Samsung Infuse 4G that I unlocked and rooted a couple years ago. I have never flashed a ROM to it. My sister borrowed it for about a year and used it. She has returned it to me, and I'm going to put it on Straight Talk (since it is already unlocked, and ICBF to flash my Sprint phone to Straight Talk).
With some tooling around, I decided to try and flash the Avatar ROM (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2174227&page=46). Of course, like an imbecile, I decided to try and do this at 1am last night.
I've installed the ClockworkMod app, and everything is fine on the surface. When I try to flash the ZIP of the Avatar ROM, it goes to Recovery like it should, but nothing happens. I feel like I am missing something stupid and will have a huge "DUH" moment when I figure it out.
I am trying to do this off of the internal SD (since the Infuse has the phone memory, internal SD, then optional external SD). From all I have read, this should be possible?
My tech level with computers is through the roof, but my Android tech level is still very elementary.
Here is a picture of my recovery after I have asked Clockwork to flash Avatar.

Someone help a dumb n00b out?
ETA: I always use USB Debug, and with the install of Clockwork used the i9000 option for installation, thanks to the internet. Which I'm sure is wrong.
if you are on froyo stock first you have to update your phone to gingerbread 2.3.6 here u will find all you need to do that read the thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1613523 the option C is rooted with CWM recovery and get the gingerbread bootloaders
After that you need to flash the entropy cm9 (ics) located in this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1601844 this requires a doubleflash.
And finally you can flash the jellybean rom you want (avatar) this also require a doubleflash and don't forget to flash the gapps.

You have to flash the entropy cm9 twice the first time the phone will get stuck in the Samsung logo you have to pull out the battery and boot into recovery and flash the rom again.

Awesome. I would have been pissed and thrown it at that point if you hadn't explained it.

No problem, but remember if your phone is on froyo 2.2.1 first update to gingerbread 2.3.6 and then to the entropy cm9 and finally to jellybean 4.2.2 (avatar).

Since I will be going from ICS to JB, do I need to do the gapps for ICS?

Nice, did you flash the gingerbread bootloaders?

If you don't flash the gingerbread bootloaders when you boot into recovery this will happen
Sent from my SGH-I997 using XDA Premium 4 mobile app
Yeah............
Oh well.
I thought I was being smart by not doing it because the gingerbread thread said not to.

Yep, went to Odin once I started using my brain again.
It has a Galaxy S/cyan screen. Do I still need to finish the double flash?
