A complete noob Help me

Guys I am a complete noob
and i am bored by the orignal look of android
I need something new
My friend also has an android phone.So he rooted that deodexed, new rom
So i need to ask can i root this phone ?
Which rom is the best to install after rooting ?
i upgraded my phone to xxkpq with my friends help. Now i dont know what to do?
So please help me

hey dude u can try to install. a good kernel with cwm (clock work mod)....a very important tool to customize your phone....then download a custom rom of your choice from the development section (see that ur firmware matches that of the rom) ....follow the instructions there and you will have a full customized phone as most c-roms are pre rooted and deodexed .....when you learn more and get used to the phone you can try miui or cm (but that is for later ...) .......since ur on kpq u can try Poseidon or vurrut roms (Ive used them and they're nice)....

Its Simple
i am using Poseiden's ROM
How to Install it :-
Backup ur apps, Contacts, Messages.
a) U'll need CWM (i use [CF-Root] by Ganesh u get here for XXKPQ)
1) Flash this *.tar file as a PDA in Odin
b) Downlad Poseiden ROM from here or here
1) Copy this zip file to ur external SD Card
2) Goto Recovery Mode Install the zip file from ur external SD Card
3) after installation setup will reboot to recovery mode, wipe Cache & DALVIK CACHE
Done

Can i install miui or,cm7 ? My friend has miui and i like it very much

Read only file system :(:'(:'(

I was using link2sd since long and everything was working fine but I dont know something went wrong yesterday now whenever I try create any link to sd it says
Cant create coz system is read only. Can you guys plz help me to overcome this problem
Any help is appreciated

1st don't post thread like this in development section ...2nd regarding your problem I know what u have done wrong ....u tried to integrate update to system which changed ur file system or messed up ur file system ....now d things u have to do if u have taken any backup of ur rom previously then restore it ...ur problem will be solved .....and remember don't ever try to integrate update to system ....Google play got updat now and then ...don't try to integrate this update or any system app update ...best of luck

Dont post ques in dev section...
And you just need to do a clean install of the same rom...

And let me know if i can delete my post.
And does clean install mean i have to delete dalvik cache, format system and clean data from recovery mode then fresh install the rom ??
Or just install rom once again without wiping anything ?

[Recovery] [Unofficial] CWM RECOVERY 5.0.2.8 for KARBONN A9+

Good News for all KARBONN A9+ USERS.Finally I have compiled a FULLY WORKING CWM RECOVERY 5.0.2.8 for KARBONN A9+
I am the first one to do so . Its easy to flash too .
Make sure you have installed all drivers for your phone and USB DEBUGGING is enabled
Steps to flash the CWM Recovery :-
1. Download the zip from here
2. Extract the zip in a folder.
3. Run CWM Recovery.bat and follow the simple steps :good:
4. Use the key combination to enter recovery
Known Bugs :
EVERYTHING WORKING
Screen Flickers because of changing res files to reduce the recovery size. You have to tolerate that
KEY COMBINATION
Volume up is Back
Volume down is scroll down
Power Key is SELECT
Thanks to : 1. I, me and Myself for taking the initiative and trying and making it possible
2. chrgegdoc and beer brand for being their for testing
3. Cyanogen-mod for the sources

I'm new with android, what's this for? is it a custom rom? sorry for this stupid question

Bug report--- It appears that the CWM detects the EMMC internal storage and not the external SD card. also functions such as dalvik cache clear seems to make the cwm hang and reboot is not working after doing back up or installing zip files.

Please remove sd card while flasing
@Eklovya You should mention this in flashing steps i lost my 8 gb sd card while flashing it.
and recovery is not perfect to screen.
plz make it perfect.

@yashgohel: weird...i been monitoring cwm of eklovya since it was released today but i havent encountered that issue of yours. i personally tested cwm with my friends. we just experienced minor bug mentioned here in earlier post.i hope your phone be ok soon.

Hi , i have by mistake deleted vending.odex from system/apps . I'm using stock sense 3.5 Rom . Anybody pls using same Rom post Ur vending.odex file over here. I'm having fcs ever since I have deleted .odex file. Pls help

No. I dont have nandroid backup it was deleted while I was partitioning my card using com recovery , if i had nandroid backup , i wouldn't have posted my prob here . Btw , if Ur on stock Rom then pls post Ur vending.odex file here. I guess if Ur on Any gingerbread Rom , it would work , so pls if u have then post it here or pm me.

Hey bro if you have flashable zip file of stock Rom then you can simply find it in system/app folder....

Well most people here are for get new or better roms for his devices, so most people like me don't have stock rom to get the file you need.
But maybe you have luck :fingers-crossed:, if you can wait.

Can a ruu be opened as a zip?
I thought it's not possible...
And jaggy Rom will not help..coz it's deodexed to begin with..

Tell you what..
Step 0. Make a nandroid backup
Your market is probably updated..
Your updated market (may have a different name.. )will be in /data/app
While your original market (vending.apk will be in /system/app)
Make a copy of data /app market in /sdcard.
Now delete both vending.ask in system and in data/app.
1 Fix permissions, wipe cache and dalvik cache
Reboot
2.Now put the updated market (of which you have a backup in sdcard) in /data/app using fx file manager
Give it permissions rw r r
3.Using fx file manager create symlink of that updatedvending.apk in /system /app
If you have enough space in /system (skip step 2 and 3), you can just copy that updated apk to system/app itself..
Repeat step 1
Please do google and test every bit and no silly questions without research.

hey currently im using FXP216 CM10 for my JLO .
then i download latest ROM FXP219 from there.
so the question is , do i need to wipe data ?
i don't want to lose any game saved or text history.
and 1more , if i flash latest ROM , whole setting at my phone will be change to default setting?
please help .

just flash the new kernel because in new rom there is no new change
just go in fastboot and flash kernel

better flash the new rom without any wipe from cwm and reboot...easy

yes but if you swapped memories you must do it again after reboot, if you change fonts you must change them after reboot etc.... did you understand?
P.S. if you have apps/games and you want their saves etc you should take a backup first (download titanium backup)
