[Q] HELP! International Version Samsung S3 won't boot up - General Questions and Answers

Hello guys, my apology if I open this thread somewhere. I just couldn't find a perfect thread to post about these issues. My International Version Samsung Galaxy S3 won't boot up after I root it with ODIN. The rooting was fine as I was able to download some apps in google play for root users. Eventually, I restarted my phone & there you go! It didn't boot up, all I see was a samsung logo & then my phone dead again. I got into recovery mode(home + power + ctrl up), i tried 'wipe data/reset factory" but still to no avail after I reboot my device, it will take me to the start up set-up of samsung (just like when you unbox your phone, the set up message shown when you 1st turn on your phone) but I stucked on the language, after I select language, my phone hangs & dead again. I can get into download mode too (home+power+cntrl dwn) but it will just stuck me to "downloading... do not turn off target'. Can somebody help me with this? I read about flashing & stuff but I just dunno how to do it though I tried but using SGS3 toolkit but again I am stuch at waiting for debugging... ANy help is appreciated.. Thanks

[Q] Galaxy mini S5570-Can't boot to recovery after flashing ClockWorkMod recovery

Hi,
I've recently flashed ClockWorkMod Recovery using Odin to my Samsung Galaxy mini S5570 device,
the opertion was succesfull (Odin said PASS), but now when I try to boot into Recovery (pressing Middle button and power button) the device just get stuck in the Samsung screen (the first screen you see when you regulary power on your device).
Will be glad for some help!
*Any Ideas how to fix this problem? or why does it occur?
1) Will HardReset/FactoryReset the phone will uninstall ClockWorkMod Recovery?
2) Do I need to ROOT my device prior to the flashing of ClockWorkMod Recovery with ODIN?
3) Can I remove/uninstall the ClockWorkMod Recovery?
Thanks advanced for your help!
Same issue
Hello,
I've got exactly the same issue and do not find any answer
Thank you for your help!
Etienne
Same here..
Same problem here, It just shows the samsung logo and that's all, I can't finish installing firmware
Stuck with first screen
I am also stuck with the opening screen. Prior being bricked the phone went through the washing machine. Board was cleaned. It still has carrier SIM lock on it. I am digging the forum for imput, but no luck so far.
With USB clable plugged in it shows only a small phone and computer icon with yellow triangle+exclamation mark on the dotted line between them. Cannot load the hard reset menu. The Download menu with big triangle comes up, that showed at least the display is working.
Odin 4.38 was able to flash the Clockworkmod, but no Gingerbread or some other update. The time runs happily but MIBIB will not load, and i must turn everything off.
I have the same issue. Wondering if there is a fix for this. Can boot into download mode but not Clockworkmod Recovery. Stuck at Samsung screen.
Okay well I found a fix!
I was trying to update CWM Recovery via Odin when I still had Froyo installed on the device. Classic rookie error. You need gingerbread to use the latest CWM. All I had to do was install an official samsung gingerbread ROM via Odin and then I was able to re-install CWM sucessfully. Now running CM9 on my Galaxy Mini and everything is great, very snappy (few bugs though)

GT-P6210MA boot loop / hangs at splash screen

Hello,
I'm new to the community. I generally work on PC but a friend brought me this Samsung Galaxy tab 7.0 Plus that turns on but is stuck at the "Samsung Galaxy tab 7.0 Plus" splash screen when it first turns on. I have tried the" Power+Vol up" to reset to factory but it seems to go too-quickly and then I am back to square one because nothing changed. I dont know if my friend or his kids tried to do anything crazy with this so I don't have much more info.
What I am asking... I want to get this tab back to factory, or at least a working ROM. any advice is helpful but please keep in mind I have never really worked on these devices, the one thing I do know is if I jump to conclusions I can brick the device.
Thanks in advance. If more info is needed please ask.
did you try with a retore power + vol down with Odin
http://www.sammobile.com/firmware/?page=3&model=GT-P6210&pcode=XAR&os=1&type=3#firmware
choose between 3.2 honeycomb or 4.0.4 ICS
I got the same problem before !!!

There is my solution
I had a very similar problem to both of you and noticed that the /data (instead of /efs) directory/partition "didn't exist" according to the boot screen when i entered the default recovery mode. i partitioned it and ran a factory reset and it finally booted.
and all just in time to pull the factory US ICS update

[Completed] SGS4 i9505 / TWRP 2.8.1.0 / CM12.1-20150519 / Bricked

Hello guys.
I do have an SGS4 i9505 which runs on CM for more than two years now.
In February 2015, I've installed TWRP 2.8.1.0 then CM12 and the associated GAPPS.
Today, May 20th, I did the update to CM12.1-20150519 from the updater of my phone (Settings, About..., CyanogenMod).
Unfortunately, since then, my phone does not want to boot anymore. It keeps boot looping. I can see the (nice) "Samsung Galaxy S4 i9505" screen but nothing more.
I can access the Download Mode but only for a couple seconds, then the phone shuts down.
I can press the VolDown + Power button to try to access my recovery (TWRP 2.8.1.0 as I previous mentioned), I do thee the same "Samsung Galaxy S4 i9505" screen bith the "recovery access" in blue in the top left corner of the screen, but that's all.
Have you guys any idea how I could skip this loop and proper reinstall ? Is my phone hard bricked ?
Thanks in advance,
Daga.

Hello, and welcome to XDA! It is possible that you needed to update your bootloader as well as the rom, hence the bootloop. You can get help by asking your question in this help thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s4/help
If you can access your bootloader, your phone is not lost at all. You can flash factory firmware, or perhaps simply flash the latest bootloader, or the recovery back. There is plenty of information on how to do this here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2265477
Good luck!

[Q] Galaxy s4 SGH M919 Tmo weird boot loop

Hi, I am very new to this stuff so please excuse any dumb questions or improper terms.
I was attempting to install CM 12 on my GS4 running 4.4.4. Google search "install android 5.0.2 lollipop on tmobile galaxy s4" and click on the true android one. (XDA prevents me from posting outside links)
I tried to install TWRP recovery by downloading TWRP manager from the Play Store. I selected my phone and installed the package that ended in .zip. It alerted me that something was wrong so canceled it and installed the other package ending in .img. This one installed. Then it asked me if I wanted to reboot into recovery now. I did so and my phone turned off and turned back on.
It showed the normal Samsung logo with the blue "recovery booting" text. It never booted into recovery mode.
If I hold down the power button my phone turns off, and then a few seconds later it turns back on, right into the recover booting loop.
If I take out the battery and put it back in, it does not turn on automatically, but if I press the power button it goes into the loop.
I love my phone and I'm really nervous. Is my phone bricked? PLEASE HELP!!!

[Completed] [Q] Galaxy S4 - Initialisation finished... Activating root access... Beginning Androi

First off, I am only average at understanding a lot of the tech language that can come in some of these solutions, so english and explaining would be much appreciated. I have a Samsung Galaxy S4 that has hyperdrive rom and is rooted. I restarted phone yesterday and am now stuck in bootloop. When the phone is booting up, right before booting android, it says at the bottom,
Initialisation finished...
Activating root access...
Beginning Android Boot sequence.
Then it just gets stuck there. I left the phone on overnight to see if it would move past there on its own and in the morning it is still stuck on that screen. I can remove the battery to restart the process. It starts to boot and safestrap: enabled appears. At the bottom it has recovery on the left and continue on the right. If press continue, then the next screen is where it gets stuck - Initialisation finished... Activating root access... Beginning Android Boot sequence. The recovery area is TWRP and where I don't quite understand everything. I came across where I could load the stock rom and was able to get past the bootloop screen, but then when I try to enter my security pattern it doesn't accept it. Is there any way to get past the security pattern/pin?
I would like to get past this bootloop screen, but would settle if I am able to just get all the data off the phone - contacts, texts, voice recordings, pics.
Please let me know what you think and how to fix this. THANK YOU THANK YOU!
Hi, thank you for using XDA Assist. Could you let me know what variant of the S4 you have, i337, i9500, etc.? Try to recover your data by booting into your custom recovery. MTP file transfer should work from there.
