I have removed the SD card.
Android recovery mode gives me the error android with the "!"
It does this plugged in or on battery.

Hadn't really done anything. Just normal use. No out of the ordinary installs. Turned it off. Next day I tried turning it on and it won't boot.
Did you ever resolve this ?? I was give one to repair for a child and it too is stuck on the red boot screen. The good thing is the person who sold it to them was a hacker and put TWRP on it of all things. I was floored when I tried to enter recovery and found teamwin.
but the problem is its still stuck on the boot screen, i did flash it 3-4 times with M604 M602 flashes and some other customs but nothing works, it completes flashing and wiping caches but always goes back to stuck on boot screen..
perhaps I have to unclock the bootloader or something for the flash to be succesfull ?
Just wanted to say I fixed it with these commands and firmware if anyone is interested. I tried everything else including flashing with twrp and wiping all caches and it didn't work, getting the stock firmware and doing it like this worked to clear boot screen endless stuck
download fastboot and adb and xoom drivers 6.4 (about 5mb) and the appropriate stock firmware. for me it was ZM604
at the command type
adb reboot bootloader
you may need to unplug and replug cable after it goes in fastboot mode.
fastboot devices
.. should return something "02a439cj0skjdke fastboot" to proceed.
fastboot oem unlock
.. look at your tablet and follow the instructions, for me it was down twice and up once to accept unlock conditions, then it reboots
on reboot press vol down 2 seconds after you see moto logo, it will enter fastboot
fastboot flash boot boot.img
fastboot flash system system.img
fastboot flash recovery recovery.img
fastboot flash userdata userdata.img
fastboot erase cache
fastboot erase userdata
fastboot reboot
no need to relock after, you will see android logo and first boot pop up after 2-3 mins

Stuck in boot

Hi! My Oneplus One is stuck in boot (the oneplus logo).
I can get into fastboot but not recovery. I have followed some softbrick guides and the problem that I have is that even after flashing twrp as recovery I cant get into recovery. when I try to start it to recovery (volume up + power) I only get to the oneplus logo again. and when I use "fastboot boot twrp.img" the backlight comes on but the fastboot image stays, fastboot doesnt recognize it from this point so i have to restart it into fastboot mode again.
i have tried to flash the factory images, but nothing seems to change.
I dont know what to do, pls help..
After flashing recovery from fastboot, do NOT issue the reboot command. Press and hold the power button till phone powers off. If you issue the reboot command from fastboot, custom recovery will be lost. Also, don't know which twrp version you are trying to flash, but I would suggest flashing 2.8.6.0 first, then after you know you can get into recovery, you can flash another version.
Additionally, to boot to recovery you have to hold
volume down + power
volume up + power brings you to fastboot
Last but not least,
fastboot boot twrp.img
does not boot the recovery which is on your device, but the recovery image which is located inside your fastboot folder on your pc.

Ok, I did not know that the reboot command removes the custom recovery. Im almost certain that i've tried just powering down and trying recovery before too tho.
I was trying to flash twrp 3.0.0.0 so i'll try 2.8.6.0 asap

I don't really get what you say. Perhaps i don't experiences before. @kenboyles72 is correct, official ROM may delete custom recovery (you can change the setting). Then @AcmE85 gives you an option, but it does not work.
Here is my option:
1. download any custom rom. The best idea is as minimum MB as possible. (Flash ROM directly from your PC)
2. flash your recovery, do NOT reboot. (fastboot flash recovery rec.img)
3. flash your ROM. (fastboot flash zip rom.zip)
Let's see if this would help you.
I had some issues a while back, where I was caught in a bootloop and flashing another rom. So I followed this guide, https://www.reddit.com/r/oneplus/comments/31sf0x/guide_how_to_return_from_oxygenos_to_stock_cm11s . You can skip flashing the userdata.img to keep all data on sdcard. Also you can substitute flashing twrp recovery img for stock recovery. I myself went ahead and flashed all stock just to make sure everything booted correctly, then went into dev options and disabled update cm recovery, booted back to fastboot and flashed twrp 2.8.6.0. Evey thing worked like a charm.
Flasing stock rom did not affect anything noticeably.. phone is still stuck in boot/fastboot
Just to confirm, have you tried either/both of these:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/oneplus-one/general/guide-return-opo-to-100-stock-t2826541
http://forum.xda-developers.com/oneplus-one/general/guide-unbrick-oneplus-one-t3013732
I have followed the return to stock guide, but not the unbrick, since my phone is softbricked, not hardbricked.
I have followed this guide tho, to no avail https://m.reddit.com/r/oneplus/wiki/devices/one/brickguide
the strange thing is that i didnt cause this. The phone started randomly overheating and one time it just never booted up.

OPO won't boot past boot logo, can't reach recovery

Hey guys.
Some issues right now....
I can't get the phone to boot. It gets stuck on boot logo. I can get it into fastboot, but not recovery.
If I try to enter recovery, it shows boot logo, then change brightness level a little bit for some reason, then nothing. Back to boot logo after screen goes black.
So it appears that the TWRP isn't installed correctly, but I've reinstalled it several times, but it never actually seems to work.
I can see the device in fastboot. Bootloader is also unlocked.
So, does anyone have a solution for this issue?
I can get it into fastboot

This is good news as it means you should be able to just flash the recovery from fastboot.
1. Download the latest TWRP Recovery: http://twrp.me/devices/bacon (I believe this is the link, it's blocked at school )
2. type the command
fastboot flash recovery /location/of/twrp/img
Click to collapse
3. Wait for it to complete and then reboot the device by holding down power and volume down.
4. Then if it boots into TWRP you should be able to mount it on the computer you plug it into and then carry over a ROM and/or GApps files.
I'm in the exact same boat, happened after I tried an OTA update. I can't flash anything into the phone via ADB because my phone isn't recognised. isn't recognised in ADB. This is while I am in Fastboot. I'm on OSX.
Rorys-MBP:~ Rory$ adb devices

(Closed)<Fixed> Honor 8 emui 8 android oreo brick ( software i guess )

Hello everyone, i have an honor 8 frd-l09c432(europe)
so i flashed a wrong kernel in twrp and fastboot
and now the phone can't boot
i can get into fastboot and flash stuff
erecovery works in factory resetting and cache partition cleaning
my bootloader is unlocked
my phone is frp unlocked
when i flash twrp in fastboot and reboot to recovery, it doesn't boot twrp but the stock recovery ( idk why )
so anyone can help ?
and when i put my phone in charge when its off
a message appears to update again
no : 10 ( boot image
no : 2 ( load failed )
which im guessing its because of the wrong kernel flash
so what should i flash in fastboot to unbrick my phone ?
i have update.app extracted and etc ... ( please please if anyone can help )
OPTION 1: MAYBE MIGHT BE WHY FLASHING MIGHT NOT BE WORKING
Make sure that you are not trying to flash the recovery.img on the error fastboot look alike screen, because I dont think you can flash files when on that screen error screen. Try to boot into fastboot without the errors on the screen.
OPTION 2: FLASH STOCK KERNEL IMAGE
You can flash kernel images using adb:
"fastboot flash kernel [KERNEL.IMG]"
Make sure that you are not trying to flash the recovery.img on the error fastboot look alike screen, because I dont think you can flash files when on that screen error screen.
OPTION 3: IF YOU WANT TO BOOT INTO TWRP WITHOUT FLASHING
1. Connect device to computer and boot into fastboot, make sure that you are not on the error fastboot look alike screen because I dont think you can flash files when on that screen error screen.
2. On adb, do "fastboot boot [Recovery File]"
3. It should boot into the recovery file you put in there
OPTION 4:: RESET DEVICE FROM ERECOVERY FROM "recovery2"
If those did not work, restart you device and when it says "Your device has been unlocked and can't be trusted", quickly hold volume up until you have booted into a stock recovery look alike "recovery2", which has an extra button. If you do not have the button, you need to hold the volume up button faster on the "Your device has been unlocked and can't be trusted" screen. When on the stock recovery look alike screen,, click the option that says something about download latest firmware. Select your wifi and it should download stock oreo and fix device, but though, it will factory reset device.
The Honor 8 has 2 recoveries called maybe "recovery" where you usually flash twrp and "recovery2" when you hold the volume button up on "Your device has been unlocked and can't be trusted"
The bootloader should relock after this
if you manage to boot into twrp and reflash back to the kernel then you dont have to do this.

I've tried that already I even upgraded it to Android 11
Sometimes it might on boot up completely then few seconds after it reboots
Your phone's bootloader is misconfigured: it's the bootloader which tells the Android kernel what to boot into ( e.g. Fastboot, Recovery; Sideload, EDL, Normal ).
Try
Code:
fastboot devices
fastboot reboot
to have phone booting into Normal mode ( read: Android OS ).
Download Vivo y12s
