What is the best way of flashing an custom Rom?
S-off your device and flash a recovery, then download a rom and install it wih recovery
Best recovey: 4ext beta 2.2.6
Sent from my HTC Desire S using XDA Premium App
Don't forget to root your phone after S-offing.
It's be important for flashing a custom rom
+1 for the recovery
If he install a custom rom.it ll be already rooted
Unless he install a ruu
Sent from my HTC Desire S using XDA Premium App
Exactly, that's what I'm writing.
he must be S-off with RUU rom, and root too, without problem. It's more practice to making all operations in the same time.
But he said that he want to flash a custom rom, so he must be:
1 - S-off
2 - Root
3- Nand backup (more important)
4 - Flash rom custom
Our posts are complementary
I directly flashed a rom after s-off

Revolutionnary patch, do a quick search and you'll find link easily.
Oh come on
Nandroid backup is useless
I bought my ds and s-offed it directly
No nandroid
No root zip
When you install a recovery, you don t need nandroid unless you want to install a ruu
He want to install a rom,so if the rom is breaked, there is no problem.downloading it again,he can reflash it.
The only thing that is necessary, it s the recovery.with this you can do anything

When I try to flash SENSE Bricked-Kernel-3.0 Sensation (Pyramid) (Bricked-3.0-v1.4-ics) pops up an error assert (write_raw_image ("/ tmp / newboot.img", "boot. I Tried to flash with ClockworkMod recovery and 4ext recover (even with enabled or disbled option smart flash ) and still the same error. I tried some other kernels too: Sultan-kernel-R17.5-Sense-NO-Aroma.zip and Sultan-kernel-R17.5-Sense-Aroma.zip, Sultan-kernel-r23-NO-AROMA-nO-BCM4329.zip, Sultan-kernel-r23-Aroma-NO-BCM4329.zip and the like to install but I do not see any change except that it will not turn on wifi ... did I do something wrong? thanks in advance for help.

Hi,
Use the link I gave you in my first post.
Try Installing the ARHD ROM
This has an aroma installation which you can choose the FAUX kernel.
This kernel is able to change clock speeds with an app like System Tuner,or kernel tuner.

If you followed my directions exactly, then your best bet is updating to 2.14 hboot by RUUing to 3.18. You would need to S-OFF first if you are not already.
I guaranty there is nothing wrong with the 4.2.2 ROMs.
