[Q] Keyboard Dock Question - Galaxy Note 10.1 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi all. I have the Galaxy tab 10.1 and since it's getting a little dated was thinking about switching to the Galaxy Note 10.1. My question is simple. Will the Galaxy Tab keyboard dock work with the Galaxy Note? It uses the same 30pin connector so I'd assume it would but I'd just like confirmation before I switch over.

I know that some folks have done a slight modification to make it work.

Does it have to be modified then? It won't just work out the box?

As I mentioned, it needs a modification to make it work.

Thanks. I think I'll leave it then. As much as the Note is nice, it's not a huge upgrade from the original tab. Thanks for the help.

If you come from the p7500 it is in deed a huge upgrade imo

Would you mind elaborating on this slight modification?

All I know is that a piece somewhere needs to be removed. I saw a few posts about it on Amazon. Perhaps take your dock to a shop where they sell the note so you can try it and see the conversion issues yourself.

BT S Pen feedback

Does anybody have it yet? Could you please leave your comments and first impressions here if you do?...
The pen works very well on the note 10.1. It feels more natural than the s pen. I actually Bluetooth it to my galaxy note 5.3. Sound quality is excellent and the people I talk to can hear me very clearly. All in all a great device. Can you live without it? Absolutely, but it's fun to have.
Thanks for the feedback.
1. Does this pen allow pairing with more than one device at the same time?
2. Does it house the 10.1 stylus inside, like the holder for the original N7000 Note did?

No. As far as I can see it only pairs with 1 device. Can't read Chinese instructions though. It doesn't house the stylus. It's a separate stylus. Comes with its own bag of plastic nibs.
Anyone else got this? Could you please leave your feedback? Thanks.
I've ordered it off of ebay, but not received yet. am anxious to read others reviews as well.
The BT s-pen has the same function as the normal s-pen. And it is a bluetooth headset with vibrition for incomming calls. When you press the phone button S-voice opens. Say "call Annie" and Annie will be called. Great !
Where to order one

Got mine off Ebay from Korea directly... No english instructions but then its not too hard to work out...
Charge until led turns blue, start bluetooth on Phone/Tablet, search bluetooth.
On pen, hold dial button for 3 - 10 seconds, tablet will pick up, Can't remember if I needed to enter pair code but "0000" usually works....

I finally got my hands one one of these yesterday - awesome. I also got English instructions with mine
1. Yes it supports two devices at the same time (Multi-Point) I have mine paired with my Note 10.1 & my Note 2
2. Yes it holds an s-pen inside - there's some instructions for re-assembling it and a picture. I don't know if it's the full s-pen inside though and I'm not going to take it apart just to find out.
It's got the proper feel of a pen and is much nicer to write with than built in one. Works great with s-voice as well and sound quality is good.
My poor s-pen always stays in it's slot now.
Also one proud owner here Got mine for about 30 usd. Really like to use it over the standard Spen. And what is more cool than talk to your pen, haha.

And is not there any possibility of buying it from another country?? Maybe the shop have a web or something like that. Because the price is greatest.

From this shop I doubt... in fact they don't have fixed prices and you can bargain. I have years of experience on this in China so not easy to fool. But I didn't find this pen in China and there I think no chance to bargain for such original products, at least not much. So I was suprise to find it here and be able to set a good price. I also bought the original flip cover. Or it just could be that they try to ripoff all the white faces they see

I am wondering if this will work on a Samsung Tab 2?? I really like it and want it to compliment the Tab and the G2. Thanks for any feedback provided.

Right. Amazon and other usual suspects places have it, too. But the question is where to get a much better deal than $75-80?... without bargaining in Indonesia

Update, there's 2 on Ebay.com right now. I think only 1 is under $75 AND a US seller. When I search I only want US sellers. Hope this helps. You can set up 'saved searches' and even 'notifier' when the item matches your wish.

This or Nexus 7?

Hi. I'm in the market for a tablet. All the reviews i read say that the Nexus 7 is a better tablet though I'm still worried about not having expandable storage or HDMI out. I'm curious about what your thoughts are. It would be nice to hear opinions from people who have this tablet. In hindsight do any of you wish you had the Nexus 7?

This question again...:sly:
Buddy which tab to buy completely depends on your needs.
So first tell what will you do with your device.
And yes every one want a nexus device...
HDMI out also does not work on galaxy tab 2 7". So you can remove that from the list =p
The only thing that is better on the galaxy is the expandable storage, and that's it. Nexus has a better CPU and newer stock android without needing to mess around. The only kind of trouble I heard about was that in some models the screen was a bit washed out and had some build problems.
I own a 3113 model but I would rather had gotten a Nexus, I just did not because it was out of stock.. I regret this, even though the galaxy still is is a good tab, the Nexus simply is better.

And if you want tab for gaming, early updates get nexus.
And let me tell you galaxy do not perform bad in gaming.

Thanks. This answer pretty much sells me on the Nexus. I do plan on using it for a lot of gaming plus Netflix. Most multimedia I can stream from my PC.

[Q] best 10" android tablet?

like the title says, i am looking to buy an android tablet for myself for the holidays. what is the best performing one out there right now? money isn't an issue. i am comfortable with rooting, so please take that into consideration.
samsung galaxy note 10.1?
asus tf701t?
google nexus 10?
thanks in advance for the help! i did a search for this topic, but nothing recent came up.

Specs would tell you to buy the Note 10, more so if you have a couple of Samsung products at home AND intend to keep most of Samsung's functionality (ahem! bloatware). Even more so, If you intend to root the thing, you'll have a powerful machine without the crap Samsung puts on it, and built-in pencil... Samsung products are made to be rooted and delivered from bloatware... unless you need all of the features.
Versatility and inputs/wired connectivity (with the kb on) would probably go to the Asus transformer, but in some ways one could think that tablets are better off without keyboards, and that a number of inputs and wired connectivity are meaningless in most modern environments. Still it is an amazing product by itself, too.
If you're familiar with rooting the device, then I guess the biggest argument for the Nexus, a Pure Google experience out of the box and early upgrades on stock ROM, don't matter much. In this aspect, add in the lack of SD support, and the Nexus can suddenly appear like an aggravating choice.
But I think that in essence, all three are basically the "same product", in respect that each should be as fast and enjoyable as the others. I also think that this market is laid out in an obvious way : if you take the time to think about what you intend to do with it, what you need, and compare all three offers, one will rise above the others. And if it's concern of buying a lemon, or the "wrong" product, that's stopping you, then rest assured that you are looking at the top of the market, and all three products can satisfy just about any user.
Thanks, great response! Anyone else?
Well, it was of little help, but at least it is an answer...
But I just found this, and I think it could explain why nobody else cared to answer so far :

Back to the date released Note5/S6e+, HK Samsung said there will be one for S6/S6E later but no time schedule provided yet. Since Note5/S6e+ just out for like two weeks.......... it is too early to say we'll never have that keyboard.
Any news about this? There's a lot of hype for physical qwertys!
