Flashing a ROM?? - Samsung Galaxy S Blaze 4G

So I just rooted my android and downloaded some apps now I am wondering how to flash a ROM on my Blaze 4G. As I understand ROM Manager wouldn't work since it doesn't have ClockWorkRecovery for the Blaze. So can anyone explain to me how to flash a ROM in details and please don't use a lot of technical terms as I am new to the Android operating system. Thanks!

[Q] Q: How do I install a kernel?

I am trying to install 2.5.4test4 kernel. Is there anything special I need to do like I did for the root and rom installation??
Nothing special, just boot into ClockworkMod Recovery, flash from zip and select the kernel zip on your SD card!
thankkk youuuu
I usually wipe just the dalvik cache under the advanced setting in cmw too. Seems to cut down on the bugs I run into.

It's common sense, but make sure you do a nandroid backup before you flash anything.
+1 on the backup and wipe. You dont have to clear data.

[Q] Full wipe with dalvik cache etc. on Stock Rom

Hi,
if the upgrade to ICS is available i want to do a full wipe with factory reset before.
How is the best way and in which order is best to do a full system cleansing with stock rom 2.3.6 installed.
First deletion of SD Card an than over the recovery menu resetting the rest?

I'm no expert but why would you delete the sdcard?
Root, install CWM recovery via rom manager. Select if you have 4g or not.
load rom onto root of the sdcard
Wipe data/factory reset
Wipe cache
Wipe dalvik cache
Flash rom
If you want to install a custom kernel instead of the one that comes with your rom of choice
After you flash the rom
Go back and rewipe dalvik
Then flash kernel
Reboot and enjoy

There's no point in wiping the dalvik twice, and instead of wiping the dalvik in CWM I'd use dalvik-wiper.zip by Morfic. Flashable zip, and it actually wipes the dalvik.
The rest is all good to the best of my knowledge.
Full wipe with GB stock rom before upgrade to ICS
Hi,
@polobunny
on the SD memory are two folders named .android_secure and Android where Android specific things are stored in. I have read that for a new and clean system build up would be good to delete this folders before.
@sookieball
I have only the normal stock rom 2.3.6 with stock recovery (no CWM) and want to stay there.
So then I think the best way is to go over the menu and do a reset to the factory settings. Delete the to folders on the SD memory manually and afterwards I will go into the recovery menu and delete the dalvik cache and then apply the ICS update.
Why i want to to this? I have at the moment a lot of useless Apps installed and i want to refresh all and start with a clean system with upgrading to ICS. Thats all.
Wherever you read that you should stop reading there.

[Q] Can i flash this rom over my previous?

http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1678485
sorry guys, i am using cm7.1.0 kernel version [email protected]#1
can i put this in my folder and just flash it and gapps using cwm? or do i need to flash a different kernel?
sorry this is my 2nd time switching through between rom, just experimented switching to miui using cwm and now wanna try those in xda.
Thanks for commenting.
Go to Recovery.
Perform a nandroid backup of your current ROM.
Wipe All partitions - system, boot, data ,cache, dalvik cache {except your SD card}.
Install Zip from SD card & navigate to your ROM from your SD card.
Flash G Apps attached in the OP of the ROM.
Reboot

The thread for cm10 http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1780329
you have to flash kernel first which is in the cm10 folder (boot.img) and after that go to cwm and do factory reset and clear cache and then install or flash the zip of cm10 from sd card
