Hey there,
so far , I've been trying every player I could find , the one which play the AC3 sound got bad video or can't play .srt subtitles.
the ones that support .srt dont play sound.
basicly I live in Israel , I'd like to watch movie with Hebrew subtitles.
I'd love to be able to download movie and play it as-is without re-encoding it which is time consuming.
is there any solution ? or any working player ?
Have you tried MX Player yet? After playing with this player for a while, I decided to remove all other players.
MX Player is all I need. It play 720p mkv, sub (.srt and in .mkv). It has S/W decoding and H/W decoding...

Try diceplayer.
diceplayer can play 720p High + DTS + MKV + SRT/SMI subs
If sub charset encoding is problem.
convert your subtitle file to UTF-8

In MX Player I know that S/W is the only option to play MKV properly. I don't use Dice Player =/

Did you download the ARM7 codecs? I can play MKV with HW decoding on MX player. Maybe it's to do with your rom.

MKV is a container - the contents maybe different.
Dice Player - Start Dice Player - Go to settings > scroll down > untick Show subtitles.
Is there any possible can MX player play 10-bit vedio use HW?
When I play 10-bit mp4 it shows the phone is use SW and my battery very quick to die.
My devices is htc one m9.any possible way to solve it? Or just can use HW+
