Dropbox Question - Android Apps and Games

I am unable to figure out how to get Dropbox for Android to automatically upload files from a directory that I specify...
The only thing that it auto uploads is pictures...
Does that capability exist?
I am running DB v2.1.10 on Android v4.1.1
Thanks...

The DropSync app from the Play Store is the only reliable app I've found with full 2-way sync capability. I don't know why Dropbox didn't include that feature in the official app, but whatever. Anyway, DropSync has a free version of the app, but imho, it's worth getting the pro version.

Sync pictures from phone to transformer

Looking for an app to sync pictures from phone automatically to transformer....tried sugarsync but I can only sync to the cloud automatically...can't seem to sync between the two...any ideas ?

Maybe some kind of WiFi sync. It usually involved a PC so not sure how it would work for you. Also look into Picassa sync
Dropbox app? I will try this and report back. If Wifi Media Sync by the makers of TitaniumBackup works on Transformer, that would do it. Will try that too...

Try out syncness on each device, syncing to dropbox (or network share)
Works well for me
Ok, tried a few things...first i tried sugarsync, and it seems to work, but you can't use the auto photo backup. You have to choose your pictures folder and it will automatically sync that folder to the cloud drive. It will be under mobile briefcase..so if you do that on each device the pictures will all sync into mobile briefcase from each device.
The second one, and the one i want to work, is via webstorage, since we have unlimited access. However, it doesn't seem like you can autosync any folder from android into this...all the folders or files have to be manually uploaded. Its kind of a sucky app at the moment...on both my phone and my transformer, but it is helpful to transfer movies or music manually.
...and syncness is good, but it seems like the same thing as sugarsync..sugarsync offers 5gb of free space though
Try something that syncs to your picasa automatically like picpush. I use that on my phone which happens to be my primary camera (they always say the best camera is the one you have on you) and my pics show up in the gallery on all of my devices and on any web browser.
If you are using an Android phone the Picasa app works fantastically for keeping things connected between devices. I can access my Picasa albums from a PC with internet or the Picasa photo editing program as well as on my Android smartphone via the Picasa app and here on the Transformer via the picasa app. Cool thing about the Transformer is the Picasa app works directly with the stock gallery app on the Transformer so your picasa albums show up with all your locally stored albums. Works very well and is all part of having a Google account.
Try it out.
Awesome!! I found an app that is completely free called photocloud that does the same thing...and its great that the pictures show up automatically in the gallery...I see u can choose to save them for offline viewing also but I haven't figured out how to do it for the individual pictures that I want..either way thanks for the help and try photocloud ...free!

Gallery App

Hi guys
Does anyone know of a gallery app, like the stock app but with the ability to display photos stored on box.com or dropbox.com?
I have been searching but not found one!
Any advice would be appreciated!

i don't know about box.com, but you can set up dropbox to download all the files automaticly, so you could browse your dropbox photos with the stock app...

How do you set Dropbox up to download automatically? I've never seen that option but have always wanted it.
Hi
But if you set drop box to download all the files then there is no point them being stored there as they are still on you sd card.
I was looking for an app that will access the online storage and display the images without downloading them?

My Google+ albums are available in my gallery. Have a look at Google+ and see if it will help.

Check out DropSync. Lets you specify folders to auto-sync on your phone at specified intervals or immediately. IOW lets Dropbox work on your phone like it does on a desktop. Very nice!

Thanks. I'd rather it was in the official DropBox app, but I can live with that.
I don't have a google plus account!

It is not quite what I was looking for....
Just wondered if there was a gallery app where you could specify your box.com or drop box account details and then it would just display the photos you want???

The latest dropbox beta not only automatically syncs the photos and videos, it gives you extra space when you do it!

Can dropsync sync game saves between two android devices?

Hi
I'm trying to set dropsync up so that it can synchronise game saves between my two phones. However I'm having trouble getting dead space to sync. Where does it store it's game saves? Have synced the app's whole data folder and still the game saves don't sync.
Thanks
Steve
Maybe you should try the app called data sync ?

Never heard of data sync. I'll give it a try tonight. Would I be able to set it up to automatically sync the saves between the two devices?
Thanks
Steve
Try app sync it does what you want but for now you have to open the app on both devices. The creater said that the need up day will have for automation in it. You can search for the app on here or look in the market

I've just tried both app sync and data sync. Both seem good. I think I prefer data sync because it lets me use dropbox so I don't need to have both my phone and my tablet on me to sync. I just wish it would automatically sync every time the game save file was changed. Lazy I know but it would mean that I could just pick up either device then start playing.
Thanks
Steve
Datasync does this. Syncs to Box.net or dropbox.

Does datasync require root? I have a galaxy s3 rooted, but I'd rather not root my infinity...

Best Office Suite App?

Im looking for an office suite app. I'll mostly use it for editing word docs, but also for editing PowerPoints. I want dropbox syncing capabilities also. I'm currently trying to decide between Quickoffice pro and Officsuite 6 Pro. Any insight is appreciated. Thanks

QuickOffice came preloaded, but it wasn't the pro version. I found OfficeSuite Pro 6 on sale one day (I think it was $4.99) and have loved it ever since. I can't offer much in the way of comparison with QuickOffice or DTG - I refuse to pay $15 so I have no way of knowing how they perform. OfficeSuite gives me all I want and it does sync with DropBox.

Documents to Go is what I have been using and it works great. If you want Dropbox sync all you need to do is store your chosen files in your Dropbox folder and the Dropbox app will take care of the syncing. It doesn't have to be a feature of the Office app.

Alternate SMS application

I'm looking for an alternate SMS app that is almost the same as the stock app but allows me to attach an APK file.
A lot of apps I get my fiance wants and it would make it easier to be able to grab the file from a file manager inline rather than having to open ROM toolbox and send it from there.

You can share any app you want from play store directly from the share button in play store and text it to her
Sendt fra min HTC One med Tapatalk2
Umm you can't attach files to text messages I'm prey sure, so no app will be able to do this (if im right). UNLESS the app also has its own messaging service on the side that can attach files, but then that would defeat the purpose because whoever you trying to text will have to have a smart phone, (they might even have to have android if the developer doesn't support other mobile smart systems like iOS or Windows Phone), because having a smartphone is the only way to get this made up app that doesn't even exist.

But since you said she wants the same apps, I'm assuming your both using android. So in that case I recommend an app called App Info XT because it has Holo Design, and can send apk directly from the app without the need of another file manager. But you will have to email it to her, since she has android she probably has gmail account. App Info XT can attach the apk to an email client directly, also, so thus is probably your best bet.
