I haven't found a note about this in the forums so I thought I'd post it. I'm using my newly purchased Adonit Jot Pro stylus on my TF700 with a Zagg screen protector. The screen protector was like a layer of glue, causing the stylus to stick to the screen. The results were pretty ugly at first but I figured out I can put a piece of clear tape on the disc and now it works like a charm:
I did this by laying the tape adhesive-side up on my desk and pressing the stylus disc tip down to create a solid seal. Then I used an Exacto knife to very carefully trim the excess tape. It's pretty much imperceptible, cheap, and now the stylus works perfectly on both by TF700 with the Zagg and my Sammy GNex with a Skinomi. The tape eliminated the friction between the stylus disc and the screen protector while still allowing full functionality of the conductive tip.

I wonder if applying a little rain-x to the disk would work? Some say applying rain-x to the scree makes the pen slide better.
This is only really an issue with the screen protectors that are made with nano memory tech. If you buy the plastic sheet screen protectors it works fine.
Good find though with the tape :good:. Sounds like it will help a lot of people that like the zagg and want to stick with its protection. Wish I had read this before i got like 15 screen protectors for mine for $2. heh. Might end up getting the full body zagg later now.
Zagg with stylus problem solved
hi guys.
i have a android tablet with zagg pasted on its screen. i also have a adonit jot stylus. the two were giving me enough problems.
i read on some forums including this one about the possible fixes. i tried my car wax, (liquid glass) and now my stylus glides like butter.
try any car wax and your problem will be solved. keep in mind you must use the wax exactly like the car. you have to let it sit, for 10 mins or use a blow dryer and wait for 5. then buff it off. try multiple coats.
On a lighter note, how is the Adonit stylus working for you guys? Is it worth considering?

That got me thinking about the daily care for the screens in our phones. People say a microfiber cloth should suffice but some of us have oily skin and the touch screens end up really smudged, or maybe the plastic has tiny scratches that spoil its shinyness. In any case sometimes we'll want some extra help cleaning our phones.
I've heard that rubbing the inside of a banana peel works to hide scratches on plastic screens.
I used to polish my digital watch with toothpaste when it got scratched, but I don't feel comfortable using it with an expensive device even ones with glass screens.
My favourite product for screens and plastic (even reading glasses) is Pledge, it hides tiny scratches, really cleans the surfaces and even lubricates the screen so it is easier to drag my fingers, it also protects surfaces so they don't get dirty so easily. I have even tried it on my mousepad and mouse skids and the mouse glides effortlessly. It also smells nice.
Please contribute your thoughts, experiences and criticisms.
My shirt, seriously, whatever i'm wearing is normally what I clean my screen off with.
I always apply a protective screen to my phone to prevent scratches, the shirt only comes in handy for fingerprints.

I have used the brasso gadget juice and I quite liked it.
It leaves a really nice fresh smell and it made my iPhone gleam as well as preventing the build up of fingerprints (strange but true).
It does a good job on my laptop as well. I am a bit fussy about my gadgets being nice a new looking and I like it allot. I used to jump up and down about AM Gel screen cleaner but Brasso gets my vote now.
The cloth is too small in my opinion. And it is probably ok on an xda/iphone or other small gadget but for anything bigger you need a decent sized microfiber cloth to go with it.
I got mine from screen-wipes.com with an extra big cloth.

I am buying a sgn 10.1. But i was wondering if a screenprotector will decrease the accuracy and effectiveness of the spen.
Anyone some experience on this part ?
Cause i cant stand scratches on screens so was thinking of adding a protector but dont want the funcionality to decrease!

I don't think that it would, maybe at worst some loss in pressure sensitivity occurs (so you have less than 1024 levels), due to the 1mm or however thick the screen protector is.
l don't think you will lose any sensitivity because the pen uses magnetic inductance to operate which is why the pen does not need batteries.
l have a screen protector on my phone which is the small version of this tablet and there was no difference when the screen protector was applied. I am waiting for Samsung torelease their official screen protector in the UK for my 10.1 Note.

I won't slide on the screen, and it won't register correctly.
It has nothing to do with the "cure" time, left the protector in for 2 days, same results.
Zagg is flexible and rubber like, will render the pen useless.
Buy a "static" type of screen protector, they are almost not flexible at all.
It's working perfectly now that I have it.
Under the "accessories" part of the forum you should be able to find several on Amazon.
Avoid ZAGG!!!

i have an 8 year old writeshield AG protector on mine and it works totally fine. just that the AG makes the screen look fuzzier is all...

haha yeah, I pulled it off my tablet pc and cut it to size. it fits and works perfectly! i have one scratch on that thing after hard abuse and that was from dropping a knife on it
i regularly leave my keys sitting on top of the protected screen actually.
the back plate of the note 10.1 is terribly soft though, I have lots of micro scratches on it and I've been taking pretty good care of it.

I have the anti-glare screenprotector.
It vworks fine with the Spen, accept that the pen actually scratches the protector.... I think I need somthing stronger.
I tried to see if WhiteShield has one, but only for the Tab. I sent them a request message for the Note.....we'll see.
What is anyone else using, and does your Spen scratch the protector?

Try using the CLEAR spen nib you found in your Note 10.1 box on the screen protector. It should slide easier.
I only use screen protectors for wacom from strongengineering.com. Unless they have changed their formula the screen protectors always have a nice paper feel. I simply love it. You can feel and hear the resistance of the nib when the cover is brand new. After a time and a lot of cross hatching and drawing it smooths out a bit. This is my very personal preference. I can't stand smooth glass-like screen protectors for drawing.
My position on screen protectors is this:
With the quality and hardness of the plastic coatings on most decent Android devices in the last 3 years, a screen protector can only be a net *downgrade* in terms of scratch-resistance and screen quality.
Scratches (and often fingerprints) will show up more on a screen protector than on the bare screen because a screen protector is usually less hard than the screen itself. This will particularly be the case with a pen stylus (ie one with a fine tip, as opposed to a capacitive stylus) which won't scratch the bare screen (because it's hardened) but will over time create wear marks in a screen protector in "high traffic" parts of the screen.
Granted, having the screen protector means that once the scratches all over it get too much, you can just pull it off (and replace it). And that is indeed the point of a screen protector. But I'd rather not have dullness from scratch marks all over my screen protector to begin with. It's a bit like the people who have plastic covers on their couches so they don't get stained. It ruins the whole point of having a nice couch surface. Reminds me of the quote "life is not a dress rehearsal". You may as well benefit from your scratch-resistant hardened plastic screen now rather than cover it, saving it for a day in the future that never comes.
All that said, some screen protectors are better than others and there are probably decent ones around. And there's nothing wrong with having a protective cover on the *back* or edges of your device, since this isn't a crucial operative part of the device.
There's no possible way a screen protector can negatively affect the way the pen works, as it's based on an electromagnetic field. So maybe if it were a metallic screen protector it would be an issue. The "grippiness" of a screen protector could be a problem though. Some are grippy and some not. Grippy ones like Zagg will render the pen practically unusable.
What Plastic Screen Protectors are you using on the Note 4? I'm under the notion that typical PET film is compatible with most cases.
I got the Zagg HDX screen protector and I'm pretty happy with it. I was hoping for tempered glass, but I don't think that's going to happen any time soon. The HDX protector was easy to install and it feels great. No issues with s-pen making divots or marks so far (been about a week of use).
INITIALLY... like immediately after you put it on, it feels a bit "sticky" when you run a finger over it. Just clean it off though and it's fine. Must be some residual "sticktion" from the films that cover the film prior to install.
+1 for the Zagg HDX. It's more expensive, but well worth it. The glass protectors look funky on this phone, and you can barely tell the Zagg is on there except for the somewhat sharp edge. I usually go without a protector, but the Note 4 is VERY scratchable... I had several light scratches in the coating that could only be seen in the right light only after a few days of use, so I had to get the protector.
I can rest-assure you its very hard not to get even the tiniest scratch on the shiny metal portions of the Note 4 especially the first time you put the phone in a case. When buying new, the device jostles while in transit, and I've seen scratches in areas where no one will see; that's just me.
Is the HDX as thin as one of those cheap plastic screen protectors found on eBay?
The HDX is a little thicker than the cheap ones. It's a multi-layer construction and provides impact resistance. It's still thin and flexible enough that it handles the slight curve at the edge of the screen and doesn't halo or anything. AND... I'm using the Samsung case and it works with that perfectly.
I'm currently using the iCarez film protector and it does not fit with my Seidio Surface case because it's too thick. Has a bubble in the lower left corner I can't get rid of and when I put the phone in my Akron Mega Grip car mount the side arms cause a large bubble on the left side. Not sure how thick it is but hoping for better results with the Zagg HDX which is 1 mm thick. Also don't like S Pen feel with the iCarez film.
I've been using Spigen Steinheil screen protectors since I first got a Motorola OG Driod. The Steinheil have always been durable and protective of my screens. I have a Spigen Steinheil Crystal screen protector on my Note 4. It works well and doesn't interfere with the native screen. They come 3 in a pack.

I am not sure about the case, I use the Samsung snap on flip cover and love it but it wouldn't accommodate your keyboard. As far as screen protectors go I have a Zagg and I love it, they have always been my favorite and if the protector ever gets damaged they replace it for you.
I'm using a tempered glass from Japan + flip plastic casing.
Dropped my tablet from knee height few weeks back and my screen didn't crack.
Previously I had other tablets without a tempered glass and the screen broke easily.
So a tempered glass is def a must-have for glass protection.
Happy with my Beetle case and Tempered glass protector on my Tab S 10.5..All from Amazon...and less than 30 bucks combined....
With the beetle case I removed the built in screen proctector due to the ugly rainbow effect...

I bought the Beetle case myself yesterday, it has to ship all the way from the US to the UK, so it was not as cheap as yours, what tempered screen protector did you buy, though i am not the best as installing them.

I purchased the Anoke brand from amazon..cost me 11 bucks..
No problem installing a tempered glass, it's real easy compared to a regular wet install non tempered one..
You just peel away the adhesive side and line it up carefully and lay it on the tablet, then just touch the center of the screen, it will do the rest, you then remove any excess aIr bubbles with the included cloth, no mess , no fuss...
Can the built in screen protector be removed without damage so it can be used with the case in the future?
I have an tempered screen protector, but it came with some of the adhesive around the edge damaged and i got a refund, but it looks like this case the bezel is covered so it might not be seen, so i might be able to use it.

Yes, Just use a razor blade to loosen one end.
Its basically glued with a very light film, so it will peel off quite easily.....
But honestly when you see the ugly oily rainbow effect it has you will probably never want to put it back on...
I will see what it look like, and if it`s bad i will get an tempered glass screen protector, do you know what the weight of the beetle case, I cannot seem to find it, even on the supcase website or amazon, does it add a lot of weight? EDIT: Is is it 7oz approx 200g ???

It does add noticeable weight to the tabet but nothing that would cause any issues, for me I like the added weight, The Tablet s was so light I felt I was holding nothing and was afraid of dropping it everytime I picked it up.
Now I have something I feel comfortable caring around ..
I got my case yesterday, I cannot see any rainbow effect, did you remover the protective plastic from the inside of the screen before installing it.
Though the built in screen protector is an fingerprint magnet.

Only issue I have thus far with further use is there is no kickstand on the case, but I have a portable tablet stand arriving tomorrow which should fix that problem...

Hello everyone, just got myself a S7 Tab FE and was looking around for cases. Has anyone found a nice case as well as screen protection?
Something with a screen this size im guessing it's important to keep it in a very nice sturdy shock proof case.
The problem with device is the thinness and large size. Even with a good case a drop may break the display... try to avoid doing it. Perhaps tethering the case may help.
As for screen protectors I use these on my N10+'s. The are an easy wet apply and last an average of 6 months. Even the spen doesn't bugger them up; they are self healing to a certain extent. Exhibit almost no yellowing over their lifespan.

Yes it feels awkwardly large and thin. Might try the S7 keyboard. Not sure how well it would function as a case tho.
I might check this screen protector out however on my N20 I prefer the glass screen protector rather then the film ones

Another member had a case and tempered glass protector on their's and broke the display recently.
The IQ Sheild will protect it from marring and scratches. Temper glass protector or not I would assume any sizable impact is likely to break the display.
Think about where you are and what you're doing when handling it... you know how it goes.

I bought the Tab S7 plus book cover it fits well with magnets
with a tempered glass screen protector they are here since I bought the device 3 months ago and they are fine
I put my tablet in my backpack so it's not a big deal
original book cover or keyboard cover are nice. But expensive and do not offer any more protection then some generic 15$ ones. I have one of those generic ones for home use because I need kickstand feature. Also have a spigen rugged armor, which I use while working on the filed. That one also has a sand feature but the case as such is pretty stiff so it needs more attention to use it that way. Not really cheap but certainly gives more protection then the original ones for less money.
And for screen, I don''t use any screen protectors, glass is scratch resistant enough for a while now and with screens huge as this or devices thin like this nothing really helps against cracking it. Need to be careful, that is the only thing that will help.
I went with a Poetic rubber-ish case and SuperShieldz tempered glass screen protector. The case is nice. Fits well with the screen protector, and even redirects the speakers toward your face which is awesome for watching movies or gaming.
