Btw, there are USB Wifi (which can act like software Access Point), so your USB wifi can turn into hotspot and share internet connection from PC to mobile devices.

It cost about $10 - $20 (depend on the brand)

I have Galaxy tab 2 10.1 wifi only, and I'm in dire need of 3g access. Is it possible somehow to plug and use an USB 3g modem? I've read about something called ppwidget that allows that but it was on 7.0.

Same here. My mom bought me for X-Mass Tab 2 10.1 Wifi (P5110) and she never thought I would need 3G. But I need 3G and I'm unhappy with tethering signal from my SII cause it needs a lot of juice so it's not worth it.
PPP Widget
You can try with this fantastic app from market "PPP WIDGET", search on play store coz i'm still not enabled to attach links... sorry!

Heard about the widget couple of times BUT what kind of USB modem would work with Tab 2 7 or 10.1?

HI,
I have a SGS3 phone. I can use my SGS3 3G connection on my laptop when there's no WIFI at my location.
Is it possible to do the same with the tablet? Cause the model I have is the WIFI only but would love to use my phone 3G connection.....
thnx
Why can't you do the same thing with the Note? It's called tethering. You enable wifi tethering on your phone first, then connect your Note to your phone. Easy peasy.

So "WIFI Tethering" will use 3G Data Connection of the phone?? Cause as I said, it's in the situation where there's no WIFI.

Yes
Beamed from my CM10.1 Galaxy Nexus
Just be aware that tethering to your phone will eat your phones battery power very quickly...
yeah I thought so ....... I have a 12000ma portable charger, that should circumvent that issue
Mate, from your post, it says you have the N8000 model. This is the 3g model. The wifi only are , worldwide, the N8010 and the , America, N8013.
There's also the Turkish N8005 but that has 3G internet.
There's the 4g LTE N8020 too..
If indeed you have an N8000 then you can slap a normal sized sim in it and use it for 3G and phone calls...
No it's my mistake, it's the N8010 that I have
Sv: [Q] Using phone 3G connection on Tablet
Actually, sharing the connection using bluetooth is much more energy efficient and in my opinion better and easier.
Or would it be possible to connect with the phone by USB using an OTG adapter?

How do you share internet access through BT?
I like your USB idea indeed, didn't think of it, yes I do have the adaptor.

Using another Android 4.. phone the procedure is as follows:
Open the settings and share internet (same place as share by wifi), click the share by bluetooth button.
Open the bluetooth settings on your tablet. The easiest way to do this is to hold the bluetooth symbol in the system bar a couple of seconds, the same button that can turn bluetooth on and off.
Pair your devices, the first time you might have to make sure that one are in pairing mode (or visible might be a better name). Click the setting button for your phone in the tablet bluetooth menu. There's a setting called something like "use this devices Internet connection", click that.
Done! There might be some quick fix app that gives you widgets to turn it on and off instantly.
It won't hurt to try, when you connect it to your computer as far as I remember you get the option of sharing the phones Internet connection. Maybe it's just as simple when connecting to the tablet. Else, there might be an app for that as the kids are saying nowdays

Greetings all,
Curious, has anyone come up with a way to use a USB Aircard (ATT Beam/Sierra-Netgear 340U) with the Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 10.1 wifi?? I'd like to get the SGT2 for my dad, who lives in a very rural part of Arizona. I tried hooking the aircard up to my Nexus 7 with the OTG cable. It powers it up, and card reads "ready to connect". Only problem, no app to start the connection process. At the Play Store I found Netgear Aircard Watcher but couldn't get to work with connected aircard. Suggestions? Any software wizards able to convert the windows install software to work with tablets??
I want to ask is it possible to use my samsung galaxy s4 or any other samsung as a wireless adaptor to connect to other wirelesses for my pc?
for example , i hav an old laptop without a wireless adaptor , is there a way to benefit from my phone if i connect to it and use the wifi in my phone to give wifi to the laptop and do some updating or give it internet?!!!
am sure tethering turns off Wifi and will make me use 3g but i dont want 3g!!
is it posible?
Usb tethering.

He works on my N7000, I haven't tested it on my N9005. Don't forget to connect you to a wifi before using this (you should not restart your phone). Hope it will work

You got one that connects directly to your phone, not via OTG or so?
HERE is some talk about USB/Ethernet cables for Note Pro 12.2 (which is like Note 3 but with bigger screen??) They have got it work on some adapters.
