[Q]What is the best rom for u8160 ? - General Questions and Answers

I am using cm7 as my custom rom but I want to know is there a good and stable rom for my phone ?

OP best way to find out what is good and stable for you, is to flash/install and run the ROMs. Just because users have the same device/same ROM doesn't mean the same stability or out come, it just doesn't happen that way, to many variables involved. With that said you maybe would want to read and read thru the threads of your device forums and see what issues there are and just test the waters out yourself.

Please can we have a thread for beginners (who are wanting to learn) to Install Roms

Hello everyone,
Sorry for not understanding but i am new to this and definitely willing to learn, Id like to know what is the best Hero Rom (smoothest with the most things working) and if once i have installed it, is it possible to go back to my normal rom if i dont like it.
Id like to know how to download apps such as Apps2SD and themes such as the good ones on here (is a special rom needed or a certain rom ?)
Sorry for all the questions but please help i am willing to make a dontation to somebody who can help me.
Thanks Everyone
This is a place for discussion for more people who are experienced, thats why its called "development" as for themes those are under the "themes" section.....
if your looking for n00b resources for full on n00bs please don't post annoying threads here. Learn to look **** up on google and in under 10 seconds you would have found
http://theunlockr.com/category/howto/android_how_tos/
for how to root, one click rom install, and how to restore back to factory. Or even above your own damn post there are n00b resrouces.
as for ROMs this is the DEVELOPMENT section. So people need to stop asking for a perfect rom. Use cyanogen stable roms if you want stablility. If not ROMs come out every 2-3 days for evil and every couple weeks for other ROMs. They are NOT stable
Qtek=fastest most stable does not work on most MT3G (this is believed to be kernel issues with 2.7xxxx)
Evil= 50/50 depending on his builds, he likes to f* stuff up alot and patch within a few hours
cyanogen 4.1.11.1=android 1.6 AOSP(android open source project)

I did do a search and i did find that site although since i am such a noob i dint even know what rooting my Magic was for :/.
Could you tell me what rooting is for ? eg if i root my device once does that mean i can use all the stuff you guys are uploading eg just put a theme on it straight away?
Cheers James
rooting your phone gives you controll of the / files of yoru phone. It lets you install roms and such. i suggest looking at the latest video of rooting your magic and the video of how to install a rom. it'll put you right at par with where alot of users on this forum are at. only like 15 mins of video too.

The best ROM discussions aren't allowed on xda. Just go through development section in ur forum and chose whichever suits u the best.
life!
agree completely with above
OP, best ROM threads are really pointless because each person is going to have a different lists of things they need the ROM to do and what they expect from a ROM. The best thing to do is read through the forum for your phone Nexus S and gather all the information you can from there. There are stickies and tons of threads in Development to help you and guide you. Just pick a few ROMs that look interesting to you and flash them and see which best fits your needs.
Good Luck. Closing this one.

What is stable for others may not be for you, best thing is to test/flash for yourself. Good to see you say you have been reading, outstanding!
Now Sir, take it to the next level run the ROMs for a few days to get the best test you can, Thanks

[Q] Feedback of [ROM][4.3][OFFICIAL & NIGHTLIES]MoKee OpenSource Project

Hi guys
My Atrix 2 is currently on jellybean leak. I want to upgrade to a newer version of android but stability is a big concern for me.
I was looking for best stable ROM for 4.3 or 4.4.2 and came across [ROM][4.3][OFFICIAL & NIGHTLIES]MoKee OpenSource Project
Because of my post count I can't post in this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2305303&highlight=bug
It would be great if you could give me heads up about bugs related to this rom or suggest any other more stable rom with virtually no bugs.

All bugs will be listed and/or discussed within the threads. It's best to go ahead and read through them so that you can make an informed decision as to which one will work best for you. There is no such thing as a "best ROM" as everyone's preferences and usage habits are different. Just do some reading and research then pick a few to try out. It's the best way to familiarize yourself with the flashing process anyway.

[Q] Custom ROM..which to go for?

I got my N5 yesterday, and I guess there is a lot more one can derive out of the phone once rooted (something I havent done yet, will probably do it today). I wanted to know which would be the best custom ROM to install on my N5, one that has the least (or no) bugs. It would be awesome if you guys could suggest the most stable custom ROM for N5. There are too many cus ROMs here, it proved to be a painstaking task to go through each and every one of them and going through the threads to find out what bugs it has..

Awesome and against the rules.
Best ROM/Stable ROM/Good to go threads are against the FORUM rules.
Take some time, read search and find yourself something suitable for you.
