Hi all,
I've looked up and down and even tried a few suggestions, but for the life of me I can't solve this.
I recently switched to an ICS ROM, Embryo 5.2. So far, it works great, but my one problem is it doesn't display Japanese characters. I use them in Go SMS (with the Emoji plugin) and I can recognize a lot of the common ones I use.
When I was running Gingerbread, stock install from Rogers, and a couple of ROMs, they displayed just fine. Since moving to Embryo, they no longer display.
I've tried replacing /system/fonts/DroidSansFallback.ttf which is supposed to fix this, but it doesn't.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hi there, recently purchased an HTC Blackstone and apart from one glaring issue I hope can be solved I'm finding it a brilliant phone.
My issue is thus. All of the messages I receive seem to be on a massive delay or are only being received when I unlock the phone and scroll to my text messages. I've googled for this issue so far and to no avail. I'm wondering if anyone has experienced anything similar?
Does the problem occurs with different rom?
So far I've tried it on stock WM 6.1 and the current ROM I'm running (Which for the life of me I cannot remember) and both times this issue has occured.
Ok, so i just rooted my MyTouch3G (original) yesterday, and the rom is excellent. There has only been 1 major problem that i have encountered. Whenever someone sends me an MMS (picture message) the picture is really small and blurry when it gets to me. I've even tried sending myself a picture, to make sure that the problem isn't on the other person's phone, but it still comes small and blurry. Is there any way to fix this?
Help will be greatly appreciated! =)
any help from anyone?
I have the mytouch 1.2 running CM6. I'm having the same issue. i tried what you did with sending it to myself but i got the same results. i also tried a different messenger (Handcent) but it didn't change anything. Might not be a bad idea to head over to cyanogens forum and let them know. cm 6 is a release candidate so expect a few bugs / glitches.
Hello there,
I just flashed my first ROM to my captivate and its working great, I'm really happy I did it..
However one of the annoying things is that it doesn't appear that the spell check/auto complete works on text messaging or any of the typing.
Is there a way to re-enable it so that it works? I am using Serendipity (the newest version I think, I just did it last night)
Thanks for your help
So I was trying to get some help in the Sensation forums, but after doing quite a bit of research, it seems this error is not limited to just the HTC Sensation.
I updated to the newest CM10/Jellybean ROM, everything seems to be working FLAWLESSLY, except one thing: Google Now
The app opens up fine, but when I click the microphone to do a voice search, it says "Speak now" and acts like it's listening, but it never shows any soundwaves on the screen, and eventually changes to say "Tap mic to start speaking". I have flashed multiple gapps, multiple builds of the ROM, changed a file(called audio.msm6680.so or something), still no luck. I can live without the camera for now, but I NEED Gnow. It's the main reason I updated to JB in the first place.
Any help I could get would be greatly appreciated.
thanks
I'm running into a similar problem too. the difference is that when I click on the mic it shows sound waves and such and even shows what I said, but the problem is that mine doesn't do anything, just kind of stays in the same page and nothing happens. Google now works fine, when i type in the searches it works flawlessly, only the mic part of the app seems to have some issues.
I'm currently running stock ICS 4.0.3 on my rooted GT-N7000.
Any suggestions of what to do?
I don't know if this helps but i have HTC Evo 3D running STOCK ICS 3.6 and i installed MikeyXda's M6 zip of Google Now and it works flawlessly.
Try getting back on ICS and try installing.
Good Luck.

First, I don't know much about custom ROMs or root processes in general. I rooted the phone myself, and installed the recovery/flashed the ROMs, but my knowledge is one step above basic, if that.
A couple of weeks ago I stopped being able to send MMS. I simply dealt with it. I don't send a whole lot of pictures. I finally called Sprint yesterday to address the issue, and the wizard on the other side of the line did some sort of magical spell which caused (I think, could've been coincidence) my 3G connection to stop functioning as well after a few reboots.
This is a Samsung Galaxy S3 for the Sprint network. I am currently running CyanogenMod 11 (AV 4.4.4) and have ClockWorkMod installed as my recovery. Fixes I have tried so far include:
- Reflashing all my ROMs
- Updating CM11
- Flashing CM12.1 instead of CM11
- Multiple hard/soft reboots
- TouchWiz MMS Fix
- FreedomPop APN adjustment
Nothing has worked so far. I am at the point where I am about to just purchase a new phone. If it matters, the verdict on the phone with Sprint was to take it to a store, which I did, but when they crack open an AOSP it seems they have no idea what they're doing.
Please help.

This issue has been resolved. I flashed over a rooted stock MK3 ROM with a custom modem which allowed me to update profile and PRL. Thank you.
Great that you solved the problem.
