Youtube crashing - Asus Transformer TF700

Is anyone else having a problem with Youtube crashing numerous time while watching videos? Is there any fix?
Sent from my ASUS Transformer Pad TF700T using xda app-developers app

Haven't had that problem. Have you tried watching multiple different videos, or are you trying a specific video?

Did you today's update or have it set to automatically install? I've yet to have any problems with youtube. Haven't installed this new update yet either

It does it with many different videos and yes ive updated my tf700
Sent from my ASUS Transformer Pad TF700T using xda app-developers app

I've installed the newest update and youtube app doesn't even start... When I try to start it I always receive a error message and asks if I want to send a report.
If I uninstall the updates it works perfectly.
Anyone had the same problem? How did you resolve it?
Thanks for the help.

same problem. Crashing

Same here.
I think that is a incompatibility between youtube and some transformer devices 'cause in google play i dont see bad feedbacks about this new update.
My trasnformer is in Portuguese and yours?

tried a cold boot?

I haven't had any issues on ICS .26, ICS .30 and now JB. Did you apply any customization to your ROM (disable/freeze/remove)?

I usually use English (US), but I just tested in Dutch and it has no issues.

Yes, I have tried a cold boot and did not do any customization to the stock rom.
My transformer is also in Portuguese.
Does anyone have more ideas?

Try this:
- go to Settings/Apps
- select YouTube (I have version 4.1.23 which is the latest version according to Play Store)
- select Uninstall updates
- select Clear data
- select Clear cache
- start YouTube

I've tried that and it works, the problem is when I install the update even if I clear the cache and data it crashes on launch.

I've finally discovered the problem in our case.
To do this I installed the latest update available and confirmed that youtube would crash on application launch, then tried to follow a link directly to a video which worked perfectly after that I pressed the shortcut to go to the main screen on youtube and the application crashed immediately.
Just to be sure the problem was the main screen on youtube with the portuguese language, I changed android language to english and after launching to the youtube main screen the problem didn't appear and everything worked perfectly.
It's very strange that the problem is on the main screen of one language and works well with others.

Scumbag google!!

For sure, one bad news never comes alone.
Regardless, I already opened a discussion on youtube development forum:
https://productforums.google.com/forum/#!category-topic/youtube/android/lTH5Ku9ifRY

Hi Portuguese brothers,
anybody found a solution for this issue?

Nope, I still am on the old version waiting for an update....

I have a solution!
After seeing that it was possible to open the app from a link I tried and it worked, however the mais page was still broken. I then went to the settings and modified the preference to prefer videos from a specific location. On the list isn't listed Portugal so I choose USA and now it works fine.

I have the same problem with my TF700, if i just start the youtube app, it crashes, but if i start youtube from a mail for example (link to a youtube video) it works fine. If i go back to the front page after watching the video, it crashes.
I will try one of the solutions posted here (change language etc)
My language is Norwegian!

Youtube app was updated yesterday, no more crashes!

Market 3.3.11

Here it is...
New setting: Auto-update apps (presumably, sets all apps to auto-update mode, woohoo!)
New setting: Update over Wi-Fi only
New setting: Auto-add shortcuts (automatically adds homescreen shortcuts for new apps, a la Honeycomb)
Smaller font
New app drawer icon
Microphone (voice command) button in search menu
Star rating chart on app pages
Minor UI tweaks
alls good and working, cheers
"staff choices for tablets"
cool

The main improvement in this one, IMO, is that you can see the app ratings (stars) while you are browsing through the apps, instead of having to open each app description up to see it. I like this a lot better.
Can someone please post the screenshots of this new market on tablets?
Still Stuck on the old Market !!
Everytime they release a new Market... It ruins most of the apps and gives them Force Closes :'( !!

Use a root file manager:
Rename the old vending.apk to vending.apk.bak *back it up*
Copy the new apk in /system/app as vending.apk
Go into your applications under settings and find market and wipe data.
reboot
You should be fine

Working fine for me... in fact, seems a lot better than the 3.15 I was using previously.

(Q)[Solved]Two problems with ICS

Well the title says it all, dolphin for pad nor the stock browser cant play any flash videos such as YouTube it just shows a small Lego box with an exclamation mark.
Also the market doesn't show any ICS apps such as chrome.
Any guidance or help would be much appreciated. Thanks
Edit: Problem solved, thanks all of you guys for all your help. Basically I did a backup using titanium on the revolver rom and then I flashed the ics rom but when I restored apps + system data using titanium it changed my market or it was telling the market that my device was still 3.2. So I wiped, then reflashed the ics rom but when it came to titanium I only restored my apps and now everything is working a treat and because the market now shows pics apps chrome is showing and also the latest flash which stopped me from playing videos on YouTube. Thanks

Thanks for your suggestions but I found the problem regarding the market not showing ics apps. I went onto the nova launcher website to download the app and it took me to the market but for some reason it said my device isn't compatible. Any help would be much appreciated again.
Thanks

Hi guys, apparently this error is present on many android tablets and it seems related to language issues. I have my tablet in Portuguese, I installed Youtube 4.1.23 and it FC'd when I tried to open it. I changed the language to English (US) and it started working, but when I switched back to Portuguese e it Force Closed again.
My solution:
- Uninstall Youtube
- Change Android language to English (US) prior to installation.
- Install Youtube
- Open Youtube once (it should be working)
- Change back to original language
- Open Youtube it should be working now.
Youtube is now working perfectly for me ever since.
Wierd bug though.

Did you uninstall youtube completely or just the updates, replacing it for the youtube app that come from factory installed with tablet?
Because in my case, I only can uninstall the updates.
Otherwise I will try to delete from the system, but for that I think I must root the device.
Thanks.
danyputo
Worked for me, thx
Add.: this worked on the note 10.1, but not on the tab 10.1, there everything is fine as long you are on englisch(USA), but one you change the language it keeps crashing after all.

Android Jelly Bean Flash Problem

i currently own a rooted tf300 with an installed flash player via apk. i know there are many tutorials on how to make flash work on a jelly bean, however the problem i'm having is making flash work on an app (ex: sports streaming app). i made a video below to outline the problems i'm having, if anyone knows this issue and knows how to fix this problem, i'd surely appreciate it.
thanks for your time.
