You might want to post in the forum for your phone. Right now, the SGS4G doesn't support any JB ROMs.
Is this your Nexus ROM?

Yeah it is

It keeps saying error in e sdcard/whatever ROM.zip status 0 installation aborted
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using xda app-developers app

If you're trying to install that ROM from a Nexus on an SGS4G, you're unlikely to succeed in anything but soft-bricking your phone.
If you're trying to install on a Nexus, you'll find more people with a Nexus in the Nexus forums.

I have nexus s 4g is this not the forum for it?

This is the "Samsung Galaxy S 4G" section of XDA -- for a phone primarily distributed by T-Mobile. I believe you want the Nexus forums where you found that ROM.

Question about new update

Do you have to completely return to stock to update to the new 2.3.7, as in if you want to keep all your original apps, homescreens, and all that like it would if you would just do the OTA update? or can you just OEM lock your phone then do the update and then unlock and reinstall recovery?
i just cleared cache/davlik and installed the new stock rooted from pete.
Really depends what Rom he running. If he's running a rooted stock rom, then yeah cache and d.cache

Tried these links and they both ended up with boot loops on my NS running JB. Remember backup if you give them a try

That quote came from a thread I started I do believe. I still have the zip on my phone and have tried to flash it on stock JB for my NS. Installation runs without a hitch in CWM and phone boots up fine, there is just no extended power menu.

Hehe okay. That is strange..tried flashing it a few times and restoring to earlier backups too..still kept looping though. But no matter if it doesn't work in the end anyway as you say

I mean, it worked on Legolas' AOSP 4.1.1 rom, but for some reason it doesn't work on the official ota.

my only other thought is to check w/ one of the devs in the ns dev forum that have built stock jb roms w/ extended power menu. I saw some there that have it, but didn't see any flashable zips for just the power menu.

Did you try flashing the stock firmware image using fastboot (a guide for 4.1.1 is here, but applicable for any google image as such)
Once you flash the stock image, you can re-root and try flashing custom ROM's
I fixed it now all I did was unroot then root my phone again. Thanks for all the help and I will use these suggestions next time if this happens. Thank you all again thank you very very much.

Please help!!!

Man,
My questions must be so stupid that I can't even get someone to respond!
When trying to flash certain things using CWM, I am prompted to install an “untrusted zip"...
Has anyone experienced this and is it safe to install untrusted ???
Please help

Is whatever you're flashing stated as compatible with your device/made for your device? Have you tried flashing with a different recovery (If available)?
I have Verizon Samsung Galaxy S3 and was trying to flash the nexus 4 boot animation..
This happened a few days ago when I tried to flash some of the android 4.2 system dump.
Both times it says “ install untrusted zip". I just tried to toggle verification and that did not help.
Thanks for helping

You might as well just make a backup and then flash .
I'm such a noob I don't even know how to make a backup, I've been trying to figure this out for days!

This is due to you having stock recovery. It will not flash anything not signed by samsung

No. It's not safe to run untrusted.zip. It may be contained with viruses and may screw up your phone or PC. Only run files with actual names because you don't know if it's good or bad. It can crash your phone, not to mention your PC.

"Untrusted" is not the file name. The recovery is just stating that the file is "untrusted" since its not official from the manufacturer.
Hopefully your phone is rooted, if it's not I can't help ... make sure you have an unlocked bootloader and install Rom Toolkit from Google Play. Rom Toolkit has a bunch of boot animations for free, including the nexus 4 animation. Also, it will install these from the app itself - much easier than doing it in CWR.

Hey rookie, welcome to xda!
While I've got your attention..
Can you guys help me with something else??
I'm running jellywiz RLS12, yesterday I flashed a 4.2MOD pack over jellywiz. After flashing it, I realized I didn't want it. I tried to research how to “unflash" stuff but was unsuccessful, ended up having to do a factory reset and reinstall jellywiz.
Any pointers on how to do this more effectively??
Thank you!

Updating galaxy nexus

I brought a galaxy nexus off internet from Hong Kong a few months back now. All is working good and pleased with phone. I haven't got software update yet and currently running 4.1.1
Does anybody know why ? And how can I get the android update please.
Thanks.

Well, in this particular case, Google is your friend.

Thanks. I've tried this but still no joy. Maybe I should just sit tight and wait it out.

Ever think about rooting? Update whenever you want to
You can do like me when I first root my gnex download nexus root toolkit unlock boot loader and download factory image from Google "just google nexus factory image" download the one you want. Flash it using factory reset tool from tool kit and root if you want you can even relock bootloader

Thanks for the tips. Will try rooting option.
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using xda app-developers app
ppl always confuse updating the software with rooting. You DO NOT need to root your device to update it. Not at all! I also always advise not to except you really need to usr some specific app. To update your GN you just need unlocked bootloader and fastboot.exe.
I cannot post links yet but just google for android factory images and go the the google site and get the one for yakju or takju/for google wallet/.
