I've been trying out the various nightly builds for XBMC on android that kemonine96 has been working on, and after doing a lot of searching trying to find a solution to something suggested, i figured I'd ask here. I own and use a Toshiba Thrive 10', and it was suggested to edit the build.prop files touch sensitivity because the thrive is apparently a bit underwhelming in this area when using the program. trouble is, i have been completely UNABLE to find what the listing is for said setting. If I've been missing something obvious, I'd be grateful for someone to point it out and hand me the dunce cap. but any help would be appreciated.

You can edit a build prop by searching build prop editor on the play store or you can download rom toolbox and edit the build prop...Must be rooted!!

Use root explorer. Long press the file. Select "open in text editor".

Does anyone know where i could possibly find the .apk for Splashtop Remote Desktop? I have searched Everywhere but still can't find it, and it doesn't show up in my market. I have already searched and found a thread "somewhat" similar, but it seemed old and didn't think people would want to read all the pages, so didn't bump it. If anyone could possibly point me in the right direction, or upload the .apk it would help me out a ton!!
Thanks!!

Hi people,
i'm having a problem with the latest grooveshark app which seems to have a problem with the non-standard screen size of the wildfire. (jokerdroid 4.2, rooted).
it crashes whenever i change the orientation to portrait in the now playing view. on landscape it works. as i cant seem to find an older version to reinstall and want to use the newest features, i'm searching a way to fix the app's overall screen orientation to landscape.
My first guess was to modify the AndroidManifest.xml. But i cant seem to open it in windows and i dont really know how to edit it anyway. Maybe someone can have a look at the file and tell me where to add what?
Help is really much appreciated.
greetings,
mo
While I can't help you with any actual coding or editing, the best I can suggest is to send a screenshot (or take a picture of it crashing/crashed) and if you know how, send a logcat of it crashing as well, to the developer of the app.
You may also want to try running it on your stock ROM if you are able.
Good luck, and sorry I couldn't really be of more help.

i tried it on the stock rom but still no luck. other users are having the same problem, see goo.gl/kd6bD .
i already sent that logfile to the devs. but it doesnt seem much like they would change something as i still dont have an answer after 1 week. Maybe they removed support for certain resolutions...?
i cant seem to find a way to manually locate the logfiles so i cant post them here...
thanx already for the tips.

Hey guys, I'm new to this forum but I've messed around with android for a little while. I'm trying to figure out how to change my carrier name. I've read countless posts on how to do it, and I'm so close.
The problem is, when I edit eri.xml in a hex editor (I've tried 3), I can't seem to find "Metro PCS" anywhere! Not even "Metro". It seems like it might be encrypted or something. I checked out my friend's tmobile mytouch 4g and the same issue. Have the carrier's decided to encrypt this information?
Can anyone help me with this? Has anyone successfully done this on an Lg Esteem? I appreciate any help, thanks!

Does anyone have an idea of how to go about this or what to try?
little late, but better then never
if you go to android forums and check out the esteem section, all things root, there is a guide on this.
I'm guessing you are familiar with decompiling and compiling your rom. so go to framework/framework-res.apk/res/values folder and edit the 'strings.xml' with notepad++ search for Metro PCS and simply delete that and replace with your custom text.
I've looked everywhere in the forum, Yes i have found very useful information but this is a question I must ask directly.
I bought a Nook-HD so I could root it. I dint have the time cause of college and lazyness and I went to a website that they sell a flashcard with the CM10 already inside of it and it allows you to take it of and have the nook as of stock.
I do not understand if this makes my device be rooted or not. I tried downloading a game "Order and Chaos" cause this is the only reason why I wanted to root my nook. The game downloaded but it does not open. It did open one time and updated something but does not open again.
In my device information it says that my Model Number is: Barnes & Noble NOOK HD.
I understand that i need to change the build.prop for my device to be "Nexus?" if I am not mistaken.
Now I have tried doing the build.prop steps I have found on the forum, Ive been looking for hours and for example it tells me I need to choose an option called "root explorer" but I cannot find that option anywhere.
Does someone have an Idea how can I change this build.prop or if I have a problem with my CM10.1?
I am confused on whether it is that my device is not rooted or it is.
Can someone move this to the nook HD forum please... Im sorry for the inconvenience.
I have an SGS3 4G (i9305) and want to hardcode date and time, or date+time+location into an image and apparently the native phone camera doesn't support this so I am looking for an app that can do it for me.
I have tried LGCamera and Vignette neither of which supports it or I can't find it one way or the other. So if someone knows where I can either find it in one or both of those apps and get it working....
OR can direct me to another app or solution to my problem I would very much appreciate it. I have tried googling for the answer but didn't find anything really conclusive and it seems a lot of people are actually requesting it....
And yes I know the EXIF info is saved in the file, but thats not what I want. I want it hardcoded into the actual image...
But thanks in advance for the help, and heres to me hoping someone might be able to help me
Cheers
Anyone that knows?
