always have at least two launchers installed to avoid not having a launcher....I have 6 installed.....I usually use Apex and yes it is jacked up on this update, I simply switched to Nova and reported the bug to Apex. It will be fixed soon enough.

Yeaa I realized it was a good idea after booting to no launcher so many times lol use nova but always have either sense or trebuchet for backup.

Dev fixed the issue same day and the 1.3.1 update works seamlessly for me. You should remove your post as the dev was just about as responsive as I've seen any dev to get the issue resolved.

CM6 Extender - gapps, Snap Kernel, Keyboards, and more. In one flash! CM6 Add-on

CM6 Extender was put together to enhance CM6 with a few small tweaks, but not make any major changes to the UI. Everything included can be found around the xda-developers forums, or directly from the developer, for free. I just combined them into a single zip that can be flashed in place of the GAPPS zip when installing CM6. Changes to stock CM6 below.
Includes all latest Google Apps (GAPPS)
Removed Facebook/Twitter (because they are easily found/updated in the market, makes sure you always have latest version)
Removed ADW Launcher, Replaced with LauncherPro 0.7.6.0
Replaced kernel with CM6-Snap-v7.4-havs875/OC/UV http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=733099
Added SNAP-widget by spiicytuna to manage/monitor it
Replaced Default Keyboard with Droid-X Multitouch: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=754948 (White with green highlights)
Creates a folder in your SD card with installers for Swype 1.61 and HTC Sense KB with 2.2
Added ES File explorer (To install those keyboards)
Added MSL Reader (Donate to the dev link within app)
Added Flashlight Alerts by apristel (not enabled by default, Donate to dev by purchasing from market) http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=699978
Added Sprint TV
I will update Snap kernel once the 8.0 battery issue is solved.
Please donate to the CyanogenMod team at http://www.cyanogenmod.com/
Recommended Instructions:
1. Back that NAND up!
2. Do a full data wipe from recovery.
3. Flash CM6 (update-cm-6.0.0-Supersonic-signed.zip)
4. Flash CM6_Extender.zip
5. Reboot, enjoy
Updated: Moved LauncherPro to Data folder due to stability problems having it in the RO System folder. Also moved ES File explorer and Sprint TV to data folder so you can uninstall them if you want. (You can also download ADW launcher from the market and uninstall LauncherPro).
Also added a bunch of wallpapers to the SD card folder. A bunch of CM wallpapers plus the Galaxy S Wallpapers (all static)
New download link below.
Download Link: http://www.megaupload.com/?d=FHWJYYWV
If you use Firefox like me and want some sweet Chrome to phone action, go here: https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/161941/
You should also grab SetCPU to take advantage of the new kernel here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/atta...6&d=1278385677
Should work with both RA and ClockworkMod Recoveries!
If you find any bugs or know of something cool I need to add, post it below! Thanks!! Also, if someone could provide a better mirror, that would be awesome!

I just finished 20 minutes ago! lol, so far so good for me and my gf.. Let me know how it goes for you
Well I have no feedback because I'm all configured. It may be useful when I start messing around again.
Also, I just like my open source ADW. But this is a great idea. Thanks for the contribution. I will give this a try later.

Was it a syntax error by chance? I've gotten that a few times. Been trying to figure out a permanent fix.. will re-upload when fixed..
EDIT: I think I've got it. Updating with Snap 8.1, then a new upload coming.
EDIT again: Snap 8.1 is causing a ton of boot loops for me. I'll try and fix this tomorrow night :/
After reboot, I get the HTC screen and then nothing. Have to remove battery to get anything to work again (at which point, the same scenario occurs unless I boot into recovery mode).
Never mind - I just realized this was for EVO's only. I'm using the Hero.
sucks i cant run 875 but i can run 8.1 900 for some odd reason when i try to flash the other kernel over the extender its gets a error after the intial setup page and screen goes black then i restart it and get bootloop... o well i really just want the keyboard i found it though thanks is there a way to remove adw launcher and use launcher pro?
nevermind...
When are you putting the updated version, with the 8.1 kernel. I'm waiting.

You're REALLY making me want to switch from Valpack to CM6. Gonna have to do that this weekend and let you all know how it goes.
Has any thought been put into sticking Hulu in?

The new Snap 8.1 kernel was EXTREMELY unstable for both me and my gf, so I'm skipping this version. I'm going to try the one he posted earlier today without HAVS and see if it works any better. It would boot loop every 30 seconds...
I'll also put in the new google voice with widgets while I'm at it.

I actually put in hulu in the beginning and it didn't work.. I couldn't figure out why after a good amount of tinkering, so I took it out.. Perhaps I'll give it another try soon.
I am having an issue. I am trying to install MyBackup Pro to restore my settings and apps from my CM6 nightly ROM and every time it starts to install the app, the phone locks up and shows the cyanogenmod loading screen and then launcherpro restarts. Any ideas?
Changing the wallpaper also locks it up. It was stuck in a loop where the launcher was crashing out to the cyanogenmod screen and then wouldn't start and then back to the cyanogenmod screen. This lasted for about 3 minutes.
Well, I tried reflashing it and now I'm worse off than I was. Can't get past the setup step. Keeps boot looping then crashing. I have been using this thing for 20 min and have already had more force closes than I have the last week and a half on my previous nightly. I give up.
Benjio12 it looks like you are attempting to simplify my life. Thank you for the tweeks I'll make sure to ck it out and follow this thread.
8.2 kernel and battery life?
Do you know if the new 8.2 kernel has resolved the battery issues and if so would you be willing to make an updated zip?
Thanks!!

I'm also running into similar issues except launcherpro doesn't restart and cyanogenmod load screen loops
Ok I installed this patch and after placing the widget my phone became laggy and the HTC dialer will not install.
I'm running a clean slate of cm6.0 but it doesn't install. I even dropped it in system/apps/. The droidx installs, its the default when you first boot.
What do I do?

ADW Launcher - Keeps Crashing

I keep getting:
The application ADW.Launcher (process android.process.acore) has stopped unexpectedly. Please try again.
It keeps looping this over and over when I force close.... please help
First go to settings, then applications then manage applications find adw clear cache or data, then if that doesn't work uninstall then reinstall, and if that doesn't work I'd say do a clean install of rom, by the way which rom are u running?

I can't even get into settings at all....this happens when it unlocks and keeps looping so I can't even get to my homepage.
I tried to get into the market via voice search for android market, but when I try and launch the market, the market app crashes too!.
The phone is currently stock 100%, just carrier code unlocked..
Yup, mine started doing this when I change themes. How does one get in touch with developers?

You could have deleted adw via adb while in cwm or even while booted into the os.

If you were 100% stock then that means you had installed adw launcher from the market. Correct? If that's the case then you could also have just done a factory reset from within cwm and it should've cleared up any issues as it would've deleted any user-installed apps, including adw launcher.
Either way glad you found a solution.

Problem already solved but just for others visiting this thread, there is a way to get rid of the issue (which worked for me). when there was crash in ADW Launcher, statusbar still works. This is to key to get back to original theme (as you can't access settings directly to set default theme)
Opened status bar, start internet.
From another device (or desktop machine), send a mail to yourself with google play link for the new theme you just installed
Your status bar will now have new mail notification (assume its activated)
Now access your mail app and open the link from the mail
Now you have browser app opened with google play page
You will have uninsatll option for that theme. Just do it.
Now as new theme is uninstalled, your default theme will come in picture and everything will be normal.
I hope this will help others fall in similar situation after installing new theme.

[Q] CM11 : each update removes Trebutchet

Hey,
Couldn't find any info regarding this issue.
I have CM11 installed on my nexus 5, and each time I update the version (nightly) it removes the Trebutchet launcher.
This is pretty frustrating seeing as each time I need to re-install the launcher and re-organize all my desktop setup.
CM11 with PA full G-apps - did full wipe before rom and g-apps installation.
*I would ask on the official CM11 nightly thread, though it seems i have insufficient permissions.

stop wiping.
all you are doing is updating, theres no need to wipe. every time you wipe data, you lose your setup. just flash the new rom over the older rom(and gapps) and your launcher will stay.

I guess my explanation wasn't good enough, i'll explain again.
I don't re-wipe every time, I only wiped the first time before installing CM11 for the first time.
Since then I updated (nightly versions) twice by simply flashing and both times they removed my Trebutchet launcher.

Thanks but I like the "close to vanilla" launcher with little customization options it offers.
And regardless of backup or not, I still don't understand why anything should be removed when I update - same rom both kitkat, only new nightly - boom stuff removed.

Isn't Trebuchet just branched from Google Now Launcher? It doesn't have it either unless you use the Xposed module.

If the launcher is in the zip file, then it will be in system. So the permissions may be incorrect.

[Q] apps, launcher always restarting, slow. any fix?

running 5.0.1. Google Now launcher seems to restart all the time, as well as many other apps, and it is running very slowly. I've heard maybe there is a memory leak? Any fix for this?
You have three choices:
1. Reboot
2. Back to KitKat
3. Wait for 5.1

Are you sure it's GNL?
It's a really random lollipop memory leak, some people get it really bad (like you seem to) some seem to have no issues (like me) your best option is to just reboot at least once a day but obviously you may need more than one depending on how bad it is

What do you think?
Ofc I'm not sure. To me it's some app he's got installed. I run LRX22C (5.0.1) and I don't need to reboot my device everyday. I mentioned disabling GNL cos wth not, worth a shot. I'd be way more agressive about it. I'd already flashed factory img for sure, as soon as i'd notice something wrong.
4 clean master. As well as speeding the phone by cleaning junk left it has a block list you can add to. I've only 3 apps that have permission to run on their own. The others are not frozen. They just stop when not used
Thanks all, what is 4 clean master, and how do I get back to stock launcher?

If you've changed launcher, find your new launcher in settings/apps and clear it's defaults. Then press the home button

I managed to replace the launcher on the Kindle Fire HD 8 (2017) model

I used this guide to root the device
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wnzRn1yiICA
Then, I used RootJunky's app to install the google play store, and block ota updates.
https://www.rootjunky.com/amazon-fire-5th-gen-supertool/
Afterwards, I installed titanium backup, Evie Launcher or any launcher, it doesn't matter I don't think, and Link2SD.
Using Link2SD, I made my launcher of choice a system app, then going to titanium backup, searched launcher, and find "Homepages," uninstalled that, and the tablet will glitch a bit, I just restarted the device, and when it's booted, it should ask which launcher you want to use, and pick the one you chose.
Just to make sure it worked, I restarted the tablet a few times, and it stayed on the launcher I chose.
I just thought I'd say what worked for me, do this at your own risk though, I'm not responsible for anything that goes wrong.
I'm also not sure how this affects alexa as I do not use her.
based on ur message, i did the same but in the step:
"then going to titanium backup, searched launcher, and find "Homepages," uninstalled that,"
just freeze homepage and get novalauncher automatically opened as default launcher

Yep - no reason to remove Homepages; just disable with the method/tool of choice once an alternative launcher is available. Keeping Homepages around will help with recovery (via adb) should some go wonky with the alternative launcher.

If you have achieved root on such a device, do not remount the system partition as read/write.
Can i use adaway. And push or delete app from /system partition. Even if i get brick is there anyway to restore stock rom?

Wrong thread to be asking such questions. Also should consider if rooting is the best choice if unfamiliar with the terminology. Best to read through the linked thread to get a better understanding of what you're headed into. Note the thread title: experimental
