Dear members,

Thanks in advantage

Restore your nandroid or run a RUU

sorry, bad post .

Well that really depends on the carrier.
There is no RUU for the tmo version that is acutally shipping. Just R2 versions and won't get updates.
Need to revert from nandroid and then restore recovery.

seems to be conflicting information. some threads say that if you go back to ruu and stock recovery you can download OTAs. as long as you have the correct CID.

If you root, set your CID to HTC__001 and then install the Europe RUU, my understanding is that you would still get OTA updates on that stream. I read somewhere that setting the CID to 11111111 (SuperCID) it blocks OTA updates no matter what RUU you install.

Setting the CID to 11111111 blocks any chance of receiving OTA. But it also means you can run ANY RUU, whether it be unbranded, T-Mobile UK, O2, T-Mobile US etc. If you want HTC Unbranded CID (you can flash WWE RUUs, and receive updates over the air) you can change your CID to HTC__001 (two underscores).
As far as I know, if you set your CID to the T-Mobile US one, and run a previous RUU, you should receive the T-Mobile OTA. I think T-MOB010 is T-Mobile US, so you might have to set that CID (fastboot oem writecid T-MOB010) and then flash the stock recovery (fastboot flash recovery link_to_recovery.img , before running an old RUU (not older than your current version, though. It can be higher or equal to it). Then check for updates, you should receive it.

I am having at&t htc one x bootloader with :
**** tampered ****
**** unlocked ****
evita pvt shp s-on rl
hboot-1.09.0000
radio-0.19as.32.09.09_l

apr 2 2012,21:08:24
installed twrp 2.2.0 recovery and stock rooted rom 2.23707.2 asia generic.
Now the problem is, i am facing the mobile signal(not wifi) dropping issues and i have to revert back to at&t stock rom, i have downloaded the official at&t ruu 2.20.502.2.....exe,
but i am concerned with the doubt that will the ruu will work 100% on supercid 111111 without any problem after relocking the bootloder or do i have to revert back the stock at&t cid, and if yes then what is the procedure to revert back the stock at&t cid???????
If you ever want to unlock the bootloader again leave the cid alone. BTW you can just flash the radio from the new ota if you want. There's a thread in development section with radios

thanks for the help, appreciable. But i don't want to flash just the radio, coz i already did that, but it did not solve my problem. So the question still continues..Can i run Ruu with the current supercid 111111 or do i have to revert it back to stock???
SORRY FOR BAD ENGLISH. ITS NOT MY FAMILIAR LANGUAGE.
You don't have to change cid to flash the ruu just relock the bootloader

your question has been answered multiple times.
SuperCID will allow you to run the 2.20 RUU. The reason we're cautioning you is because once you do that, you will lose the ability to flash new radios at all and you'll have to flash a kernel in fast boot.
Also once you do this update to 2.20 you can't go backward to 1.85 even WITH SuperCID because the update includes a new HBOOT.

ok what will happen if i extract the rom.zip from the ruu and will extract and replace the hboot with earlier one and also the recovery with custom one and will rezip it and rename it as PJ83.img and will copy it to storage and run it in the current boot loader. will relock it before running the process.
Will this work and will i b able to flash the stock rom with same boot loader and custom recovery?
I AM AWARE INSTEAD OF DOING THIS I CAN JUST FLASH THE STOCK ROOTED 2.20 ROM FROM TWRP BUT I JUST WANT TO INCREASE MY TECHNICAL KNOWLEDGE AND WORK.

won't work because RUU's include a signature check and if you alter the files in any way, that signature check will fail.

CID

Quick questions!!
My CID is BM__001 (Bell Mobility Canada). It is rooted, unlocked bootloader and CWRM recovery
I want the latest update (4,1 sense and not the 4.0 I'm stuck with and down the line the latest jellybean) WITHOUT a custom rom!
If I change Cid to HTC__001 I have read I can apply the international unbranded RUU and I will get them.
1. Will I have to flash radios or anything of the sort in order to make it work with my network in Canada?
2. What are the advantages of keeping my Bell CID?
3. What are the advantages of CHANGING to the HTC__001 CID?
4. Is it possible without s-off?
Sorry for the noobish questions put couldnt find simple answers to these questions!

If your phone already has the bootloader unlocked and a custom recovery why not just flash a rom?
Thanks for the answer!
Because I want to be able to OTA update without loosing all my data and settings..
With a custom ROM it will be a bit more of a hassle.
1. If I change my CID will I have to flash the RUU or will it do it by itself?

You would have to run a RUU with the one you would like to receive future updates from. This will relock your bootloader so you would have to unlock it again through htcdev.

[Q] RUU for my One S S3

Where can I get a stock rom for my One S s3? its locked to Optus. I checked in the thread but all I can find was roms for euro.. I Can't change my CID either because my phone is villeC2.
Can anyone help me?
Sent from my HTC One S using xda app-developers app
It's bad news, but there is no Optus RUU for the S4 or S3 as far as I'm aware of.
You'll need to change the CID to HTC__001 or HTC__032 or something else unbranded for an unbranded RUU to work.

There has to be something I can do.

Im on Trickdroid 3 but i cant use 4 because I need to flash back to stock... and i just dont know how to do that without the RUU...
I mean after you unlocked your bootloader, but before you rooted, if that makes sense? If you have a nandroid of that state you can restore to that, and then relock your bootloader.
No i didnt unfortanatly is there anything i can do at all to get back to stock on the S3?

I think not. I have the same issue or even worse, for some reason TD3 stuck with bootscreen.
Well thats an easy fix do a full wipe/cache in twrp recovery.
-Install TD2 with the appropriate boot.img
-let it boot
-Install TD3 with the appropriate boot.img
-wait for it to boot and then you can install the tweak package
who can offer one s s3 OPTUS001 firmware or OTA,very thankyou!
My phone htc one s s3,now still 4.0.3,It haven't find official RUU and super cid method ,so, who can offer one s s3 OPTUS001 firmware or OTA
thankyou very much!

lol. There isn't one from TMOB_101 and I really doubt that there ever will be one...
If you want to stick to your CID you should flash this one above and check the OTA updates. Things can be soooo easy...
If you want to go for JB you'll have to change CID to HTC__001 and flash the appropriate RUU. 3.16 will come in by OTA update.
Isn't it will brick my device? (flashing a earlier version then I got)
Sent from my HTC One S using Tapatalk 2
No, it will simply not flash (= exit with an error).
Each RUU/OTA update comes with a certain new bootloader version. Dependant on this version you can upgrade to the next higher hboot but usually not downgrade to a lower hboot. E.g. if youre on 2.15 JB you can't downgrade to 1.14 ICS by RUU anymore. But you are still able to flash custom roms based on whatever android version. The only thing here is with bootloaders > 1.09 the kernel needs to be flashed separately in fastboot mode.
That's where s-off / downgrading bootloader comes into game. As downgrading bootloader is a pain, s-off would be the way to go. For warranty purposes you will be able to restore a stock phone (locked, tampered warning removed, s-on). And if your screen is blank, it will also be blank for TMOB, so there is no need to restore stock.
Look here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2200930
There is the "RUU_Ville_U_ICS_40_S_TMO_DE_2.38.111.10_Radio_1.09 es.50.02.07_2_10.09d.50.04L_ver2_release_287723_signed.exe"

I can sent you a twrp nandroid backup from my phone (s4-tmobile germany)
I have backups from the 3.16.111.5.and from the latest 3.16.111.7. They are the stock roms with the supersu added.
If you recover the 3.16.111.5 nandroid backup you will take a OTA update to clean 3.16.111.7 (without supersu).

Relock and RUU for o2 Germany One XL

I have a One XL with o2 Germany Branding (CID: O2___102)
HBOOT 2.14
S-ON
ROM installed: CM 10.1
I want to relock it and flash a Stock ROM. Reason is that I want to send it to warranty.
As far as I know the HBOOT of the ROM must not be older than 2.14 and I can't find an appropriate ROM.
1. fastboot oem lock
2. launch RUU (I tried some, but it did't work)
Do I have to flash a Stock Recovery after that?
Running an RUU returns the phone to being completely stock, including recovery. I hope your don't have SuperCID or you're gonna brick. Click the link in my signature, you'll find RUU threads there.

So you run an older RUU and then take OTAs, you can't just flash OTA files, it won't work. You need to return the phone to being completely stock first though, s-on, original CID, locked bootloader, original recovery.

The XL is S-ON (never was S-OFF), bootloader is relocked (fastboot oem lock), then I launched the RUU.exe.
What I read is, that I can't flash older ROMs (what ever that means). So, what can I do if the o2-RUUs are to old? Can I downgrade the HBOOT?
edit: Can I downgrade HBOOT with the JET (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1940512) and then ran a RUU?
