Hi, sorry for another question.
whenever I do backups it doesn't read my external SD card. (Under recovery mode). It goes to the internal memory. Isn't it suppose to go on external sd card?

3.1 rooted XOOM, Tianam 1.4.4. SD card working fine...all my pics on /external, etc.
Question: Is there a way to have CWM backup to the SD?
Thanks.
4.0.0.0 will only save to internal SD. Solarnz 3.2 will save nandroid backups to external SD.

The instructions for rooting Skyrocket say to put the Superuser.zip on the EXTERNAL SD, but when I looked at some tutorials on youtube to see how it is done in more detail people say to put it on the INTERNAL SD (though this is for T-Mobil version). Which should it be?
I have always put this on the internal

you can flash zip files in cwm on both the internal and external.
To be on the safe side I put a copy on both. I did not see Superuser on the internal and had to flash from external. Maybe I was looking in the wrong place. Either way it worked. Thanks.
my friend doesn't have a MicroSD. and the guide I read says a MicroSD is required, are there any other methods of rooting/flashing?
You don't have to have a microSD card to root. You can just put the files on the internal sdcard.
Yes put all the files you want to flash in internal sd card, i flashed alot using this methode

Like the title says, how do you relocate the backup folder of CWM? My internal sd card is getting full and I want all my back ups to go to my external sd card. I know there is an option on recovery to back up to external, but i want the regular backup to be saved automatically to the external sd card. help would be much appreciated
If you are trying to do that from within the app it will place backup on internal card. No option/setting for external card except in recovery.

Okay, so I am just tired of the confusion in my head here.
I'm not a noob with rooting or anything of the sort, but I am not used to a phone with an internal SD card and an external SD card.
I am downloading a ROM to flash to my Galaxy S3 and it saves to the SD card... does that mean that it is saving to the phones memory and not the actual SD card I put into it?
There is an SD Card and an external SD card.
Which one is which? Haha.
And if I am right, like I think I am... the external SD card is the actual SD card I put into it and the SD Card is the phones internal memory.
How can I download from the internet and have it save onto the external SD?
AND...
When backing up a ROM before flashing a new one, do you recommend that I back up to SD card or external SD card?
And do you recommend I flash a ROM from the SD card or from the external SD card?
It seems that IF my external SD card somehow decided to corrupt while I was running off of a ROM that was installed via external SD card, that it wouldn't be able to boot after it corrupted.
Am I correct on all of this?
Sorry. Your answers are more than appreciated.
Thanks in advance.
I have mine setup to download the roms, pictures, media or backups to the external sd card. In cwm I save a backup to both internal and external for the extra security. I just use external for everything because I have a 32gb sd card that has everything. The internal memory is just used for system stuff.

Perfect. That's absolutely everything I needed to know. I guess no matter what you download from the browser, it will download to the internal memory... but you can manually move it to the external SD with Root Browser.
Thank you man.

Go into the advanced settings option on your Browser and it gives you the option to have things downloaded to memory card or internal. Just change that to memory card and it will do it for you.
