Hi all i tried to use Rom manager to flash my Spice mi 410 for the first time. I wanted to install ice cream sandwhich, jelly bean etc on my phhone by using various custom roms available here. I was very excited and watched youtube videos about how to do it and followed each step like clearing cache, dalvik etc. When i started Rom manager it said i needed clockwork mod , i then saw its list but my phone wasn't listed , then i searched google endlessly and found a version 4 for the phone , i copied it and made backup and then flashed my phone, the update ended with success message but when i restarted it it got stuck in boot loop, then again i searched internet ; someone said it could be because of wrong version of clckwork mod so then i fond a version 5 for my phone when i copied it , it still showd a version 4 in rom manager but whwn i go to recovery mode there a version 5 is written. So now also whichever rom i install it installs perfectly but gets stuck in a boot loop. i have no idea where i might be wrong!
Sorry for being verbose but i am frustrated here as its my first time flashing but even after following all iinstructions i get no result. (And why the hell Rom manager couldn't automatically found a clockworkmod for a phone or use a single file for every model!! ) Please if you can five link to a valid clockworkmod recovery file for spice mi410 then i would really appreciate it or if you have any advice or suggestion please do tell thanks a lot.
I don't know when i will be able to taste ice cream sandwhich

cwm
I don't know how to install CWM too
Maybe it is an error or something.
I didnt install it so I dont know anything about it.
Anyway you can try to install ICS
Hope it works.
Oh and btw you should flash it via fastboot. With fastboot you are sure that it installed ok because you flash it manually.
Hope this helps .

Sorry for a noob question...but what happens if something wrong happens with fastboot? will i still be able to restore it with CWM?
Well if the fastboot flash doesnt work your phone will boot into fast boot mode so that means you can flash your old version of cwm back .

If it is a stock based rom, you need to re-flash clockwork (through ADB works best...), boot into Android and use "Root Explorer" to navigate here:
root->etc and find the file "install-recovery.sh"
rename it anything you want, i just add a "2" to the end. Exit and reboot into recovery and you should be set to go.
Stock Android will reflash stock recovery if you dont do this...good to know the Nexus is hard to brick in this way.

Same problem here, any solution?
There are tons of tutorials explaining how to tweak your Nexus, but none explaining how to fix it when everything blows up.

Just do what I said...Reflash clockwork and follow my instructions listed above and it will prevent Android from reverting to stock recovery. You arent bootlooping, the phone is just repairing itself back to stock recovery when you get the triangle.
All you need to do is rename that one file and your problem is solved.

Do you get to the fastboot? You may want to flash to stock and give it another go, or restore your previous backup...backup and backup some more. I have had this happen and a revert to stock, reroot works wonders to clean out the crap that builds up if you flash a ton of roms.
The worst that can happen is you get clean fresh Android and a clean slate to work off of.
I have a problem when ever i log into recovery it always says cannot mount? i have root access with the recovery properly installed (so i believe). The recovery allowed me to install superuser but it will not allow me to do a backup? iam running stock 2.3.4 rooted
any ideas?
Thanks
Hello...this is my first post!!! I would like to start off by saying this forum rules and I have learned so much from you guys here. I have rooted, installed custom roms, bricked, and restored my sgs4g, galaxy exhibit, and huawei prism. The issue is with the huawei. Its not a bad phone, I was able to root it, install cwm, and flash cm7 to it (with the help of your wonderful forum :good The issue is with charging the phone. When you try to charge it while its shutoff it boots into recovery mode. I saw somewhere that it was the version of cwm I was using and updated to version 5. The same thing still happens with this version and its my teenager's phone so this is kind of a pain. Its backed up, and I realize it can be restored but I saw somewhere in your forum someone suggested to flash the stock recovery image. That would be great but I have had no luck finding this image. I tried flashing the only stock recovery image for huawei I could find, but it would not let me (install aborted). I'm running U8650 cm7, but I believe the phones a U8651 (its a prism). Any help in this matter would be greatly appreciated

ive been reading for weeks and am ready to start flashing roms and recoverys but i come to find out that i cant get into stock recovery. the phone looks like its going into recovery mode then it shows an android guy with a "!" then reboots normally... can i flash a new recovery without using the stock one. or how can i restore the stock recovery? ive been reading for hours and hours and cant find anything helpfull on the web... im using lg ally with 2.2.2 rooted with gingerbreak. i posted at an lg ally forum but no one answers since the phones so old i guess.. please help cuz im about to smash this thing against my head
i managed to get it working or i thought i did.. it let me download it in rom manager after i clicked "fix permissions" it booted into recovery but when i booted out and tried it again it wont boot into recovery again, yet rom manager thinks that CWM is installed... i dont get it
clear data of rom manager and try flashing recovery again...
SENT FROM MONSTER ! ! !
HIT THANX OR I WILL JUST
CRY...
will try next time i get wifi... i read something about having to install it twice? the first is only temporary or something is this true? or when CMW flashes it should it stay there the first time?
No no no,the rom manager flashes the rom only once & that is permanent...

it did the same thing again. would doing a factory reset restore the stock recovery? rom manager thinks CWM is installed. was i supposed to wipe cache and dalvik cache or does that not matter. im kind of scared to mess with too much since i cant get into recovery to make a back up.... is there a way to side load it using terminal emulator or do i need to use the SDK because i dont have a pc
i ended up getting it working after i did it one more time. thanks
Okey, first of all Im pretty noob in this topics, second of all my english is not that good. Third, my mobile is a GT-S7500L
By some reason I uninstalled the play store, so I wanted it back, I downloaded Rom manager or CWM I think so I could install Gapps in recovery like I read, the thing is I installed the wrong one, because I had GB and the Gapps were for ICS. After that I rebooted and the GB didnt run, after rebooting just the CWM window started. So I decided to install the stock rom. I searched it in SAMmobile I think, I dowloaded it and the screen send me a message that says (bad) cant install. So I downloaded other two custom roms from here, Jellybread and elruki-rom, these roms install normal, but after pressing reboot, the phone still send me to the screen of CWM, I mean its says installation complete but after y reboot, it still send me to the CWM screen!
Please someone help me, I really need my phone for work. I need to know how to fix it, or at least know that I can fix it and its not completely wasted. Helppp pleasee!!!

The stock firmware cant be flashed via cwm,you have to extract the zip file and flash it via odin
Hello, everyone. I have a small problem and I hope anyone will help very soon.
I unlocked my HTC One Max (Vodafone) and when I installed Superuser via recovery (TWRP), it wasnt yet rooted, so I guess I was mixin between tutorials. Then I saw the step for the unsecure kernel, downloaded it and flashed it. Now the problem is that my phone won't boot anymore and only takes me to recovery every time I choose reboot or restart system.
Can someone please help or link me to the solution if there was any.
Thanks a lot in advance

Flashing SuperSU.zip via twrp is pretty much rooting so we can leave that bit out:silly:
As for the trouble it could be either
1)you installed a wrong kernel not made for your phone
2)the installed twrp and kernel are not compatible together
I think its no.2 mostly and you'll need to make a choice between the two.
Solutions other than doing a hard reset as it will not fix your phone
1)restore a backup if you've made one beforehand
2)flash any ohrt ROM/kernel
3)flashing stock firmware
choose another recovery if you want To install and try your mentioned kernel/ROM
Note : flashing is a risky process so from now on make a backup before doing something and when following a tutorial try not to mix it up.
Try to get a good grip of what you're doing before doing anything good luck
