[Q] JB Roboto font - Verizon Samsung Galaxy S III

Hello guys. New to the sgs3 forums, coming from the original incredible. I am using beans stock ICS room atm. Was wondering how I would go about pulling the font from an sgs3 JB Rom and flashing it onto current Rom?
Any help would be greatly appreciated

If the font is nor unique to aosp roms...
Unzip the rom file that has JB roboto font.
Go to system> apps and find the jb roboto font.apk
Copy the .apk file and reverse the above process with the new rom that you want to use. Re-zip all the files. Flash.
As always, nandroid backup bwfore this.

How would I find out if it is only supported buy AOSP roms?

Here , this worked for ics, and the majority of the fonts in JB, maybe you can expand on it and we can make a new thread for jb font changing .

I am using fonts from this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1717964
There are two Roboto fonts in the rar. I've no clue how they compare to Jelly Bean, as I've taken a liking to the bauhaus font myself.
You might find something that works for you in there.

pretty sure he is asking about roms that are pure jellybean and not loaded with a custom launcher (like the GS3 launcher or apex etc).

Think you're looking for a stock AOSP JB ROM but there has been official release for this as yet, so your answer is "no"

so the PA ROM does not use the default jelly bean launcher? Tricked again.... It is a pretty good launcher even if it is not.

Thanks for the clarification that was my understanding that the default is just what ever was included, it has been a while since I dug into it on a phone but last app launcher I used was go launcher and to be honest it kind of sucked compared to the default way back when the Samsung moment was the cool thing to have

Android 4.2 Alternate Wallpapers

Hey everyone,
forgive me if this does not belong here/has already been found,
but whilst rooting around in the apk of the android 4.2 launcher from the recent Nexus 4 system dump I found some alternate wallpapers hidden away that nobody seems to have found! They seem to have a strange aspect ratio so possibly they weren't actually meant for the Nexus 4 and that is why they can not be accessed directly once the launcher is installed.
A selection:
+
+
and the zip file:
http://www34.zippyshare.com/v/79077344/file.html
Enjoy!
They haven't been posted because they aren't new. Think they were included in then first jelly Bean roms, maybe ICS. Just FYI

Pretty sure they aren't mate, at least not all of them.
That is, they were never in any ICS rom I ever ran which was a hell of a lot!

He was right, they were included in CM9 stock version ( atleast I saw them on Opensensation CM9 by Tamcore). I had 2 of these my wallpapers. On Opensensation when selecting wallpaper, you can choose between CynogenMod Wallpapers or just Wallpaper (which I believe were ICS stock). I don't remember if these exact ones came from stock Wallpaper or CynogenMod Wallpapers.
Thanks for posting anyways, since they do not appear in CM10.:good:
Stock cm9. Pointless post.

[Q] What ROMs can I choose from?

Hi, just bought a GS3 Verizon. I want it rooted, and working without well known bugs.(GPS, calling, almost no bugs) I prefer 4.1 jelly bean. What ROM should I choose? The ROM based on the leaked VZW ROM?

Stock deodexed j1 touchwiz...if you look around you can manually add what mods you want. I prefer this over flashing the custom touchwiz rom variants....seems less buggy and smoother imo.

I've been having good luck with Synegy's latest. Smooth, good performance, good battery, and just enough added functionality over stock to make it work well.
I liked clean rom, jellywiz, and my current rom tasteofbeans 3.1. They all were :good:

What about using separate mods makes it less buggy?

Because you flash them 1 at a time and if you flash one and it made everything bug out you can just nandroid back. If your on a ROM with a crap load of tweaks and mods and something goes wrong you're just screwed until the dev can figure out which mod he added is causing the problems. A lot of the time the mod bugs are left alone until all the big bugs are worked out and then they track down what's causing the smaller bugs

[Q] Embyro Theme Chooser

Hello. Is there anyway to have a theme chooser for Embyro? I know that other aosp roms have it but i like embyro and don't want to switch to another rom. Thanks in advance.
Embryo is not an AOSP ROM, it's a Stock ROM.
Theme chooser is only for AOSP based ROMs (CM/AOKP/PA/etc) from my understanding.

Thanks for this. Just one more question. Is it possible to apply a theme from the play store?
Wouldn't flash it, it's for sgs3 don't know if it'd work, but would be nice .
Have to have theme chooser could try extracting the theme chooser and theme provider apk's pushing to system fix permissions and reboot. May work

Still don't think it would work since stock TW ROMs (and probably Sense as well as others) use their own versions of some framework apks rather than the AOSP versions, and even in the AOSP versions they use they call different image files. It's unlikely that a Theme Chooser theme would do anything positive on a TW ROM.
So far it didn't work. Thanks anyway.
Duh it wouldn't work. That's obvious...

[Q] Samsung Infuse 4G ROM ..

Hey guys !!
I am using Samsung infuse 4g I997 .. I'm using jellybean (4.2.2) custom ROM of Beanstalk in it .. but i am bored of the menu icon (the circle/nexus icon) and also of this ROM .. I want a ROM which is smooth and does not have this type of menu icon .. And I don't want to download a theme for other menu icons .. I was hopping if anyone can give me a link or something to a ROM which is smoother as well as of jelly bean (4.2.2) .. And also I've used the avatar ROM and the cyber style SGS-IV ROM so I want ROMs rather than these two ! I shall be very thankful to you guys ..

Best bet is to download a custom launcher. Most of the JB ROMs have the same style launcher.
My Infuse is Stalking Beans
Just try different ROMs.. Isn't hard or lengthy to do a backup and flash different ROMs til you find something you like. I personally like the avatar ROM. Runs pretty smooth and has improved battery life with a few kernel tweaks using the infuse toolkit. And you can just download different icon packs if you're tired of the looks.

And just from my personal experiences with the Infuse, launchers aren't advisable.. with only 512mb of RAM, we have to be very minimalistic about what programs are running. This phone runs out of memory and lags quite easily. 2 ROMs that I've used and seem to be fairly light and speedy are:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2232538 Cyber SGS-IV style (my curreny daily driver, uses touchwiz with usually around 100-200mb of RAM free)
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2174227 AvatarROM is also a nice, lightweight ROM to use, and has many downloadable themes that are very easily applied.
Hope this helps a little.
U can also customize the look of your rom like i always do i have the flashable touchwiz zip and the accuweather zip when i flash any rom i also flash this 2 zips
