I just turned my tablet on to read a book while on lunch and I got the prompt to update. I normally check 2x a day for system update so I was shocked to see it.
Hope it starts rolling out en mass soon!

Leaving out build number or you know, an actual full-size screenshot showing the about tablet screen. No, blurrycam is the way to go!
it should be on here too then

There's the build number. I want an apology when all is said and done.
Actually, the OTA usually is out before it's available for download, or atleast it's been like that for the last two updates.

The build magically matches the one for TF300 AND it's dated 09-AUG-2012? Cool!

could be my mistake, ive always been able to pull updates from the website when they were released in ota. from what i imagine, it would save bandwidth, but thats a whole nothing thing and i know nothing about that sort of stuff..... regardless, im still calling bull****.

There's an easier way to take a screenshot, go to Settings /Personalized Asus Settings and enable the screenshot option in there.

Thanks, I knew I turned this off and couldn't remember how to turn back on.
What changes do you notice with this build of Jelly Bean? Does the browser work as well as chrome on PC now? Can the infinity now run Crysis at high settings? Does Google Maps now display the location of the All Spark?

Given your number of posts you can expect a few more of these critical replies. I'll just pass on mine, but I have to concede I*am* a bit curious why you did not use the standard screenshot facility. Even if you have 'shopped the shot, it would have made it a lot easier to start with.
I had been waiting for this tf700t for 4 months and it's finally arrived but not the 3G version. I am out of patience now and thinking about buying a tf300tg unless tf700t supports 3g USB modem. Does it support? What would I miss if bought tf300 instead? Help please. I am about to get crazy!!! :banghead:
Or a way of using 3G on this tablet anyway?

I use my cell phone's 3G connection in tether mode - as a modem for my TF700T.
That's what I thought to do but unfortunatly my phone doesn't support 3G, only edge. So I startded searching for other ways.
You could always get a MiFi device. In case you don't know its a very small modem which takes a 3G SIM and then acts like a wifi hostspot. You can connect up to 5 devices to the 3G network with it. So if your phone has wifi you can connect that as well as your tablet and laptop etc.

Now, that is the best solution for such a condition. Thanks for the hint and enjoy your TF700T :good:
i'm using this device, it works great, even supports HSPA+ and is quite affordable in comparison to other similar devices:

if you have the asus USB adapter you can even charge the mifi device through the tablet

I'm using a Huawei E586 wireless 3G modem as well. Best thing I ever bought. Turn it on leave in pocket or bag and you have 3G wireless connectivity everywhere you go.

Pretty good mate. I think it's rated for 6 to 7 hours of continuous use. It's not run down on me during a day of use. It shows you the usage on the screen so I can track how much I am using a month as well.
I'd like to know how I can change the keyboard dock's browser button to launch Chrome instead of the stock browser, even though I have Chrome set as default.
It can be done if you are rooted. However, I don't have a link to the specifics - I would try a Google search. Like I said, it can be done though.

Yes, I did it at one point... But I switched back to the stock browser long ago (it's much faster than Chrome and it still supports Flash, which Chrome does not). Not sure if it works in the latest version of JB or not, although I would assume that it will work fine.

Hello everybody,
On my previous tablet a TF101 (which belong now to my wife) with Megatron ROM
I used a 3G dongle on some places without wifi. Works very well, the tablet act as a phone.
Any chance to have the same possibility with the TF700T on some ROM?
Cheers

It seems that some dongles work on the Infinity. I am not sure where, maybe on the Asus forum I read about it. Will do some research as soon as I reach my PC.

Use a 3G or 4G mifi device instead. You put your simple in it and it connects wirelessly over wifi. Works beautifully. You can connect up to 5 devices at on time too. I use a Huawei e583
Tethering from your phone or using one of those 4G hotspots would be a lot easier.

Of this current infinity, no. Of the next, who knows, maybe, maybe not.
Have you tried and asked any Windows tablet owners if they can dual boot android? (I have no idea)
Worst case scenario, buy these 3 things: Windows tablet, infinity tablet, superglue
I'm just kidding of course. I'm sure there is something out there that can give you dual boot, I remember seeing a video of a large tablet (more than 10") that could do this, maybe it was even Asus, can't fully remember.

And maybe cannot!!
Really i dont know about that ..
One anther question..
Can i run USB modems on TF700 ?
Just for using the sim card for whatsapp, tango, and viber..
Or should say in the question: how can i run or use simcard on the infinity?
Or also this is impossible and there's no way to use whatsapp, tango, and viber on infinity!

I will be honest, I don't fully understand your question, and could be others aren't either.

I'd say most of us on here have the wifi version, meaning we don't have a sim card.

Maybe if you buy the original USB adapter from Asus and then hook the 3G dongle, otherwise i can't see how you could use it, the tablet alone doesn't have an USB/Micro USB port.

I cannot promise you that this is 100% correct, but I believe it is said in another thread that Windows 8 requires a different type of software at the boot loader / startup level. Boot loaders cant be flashed anymore after the patch from .26 to .30 when ICS was the stock ROM and you cannot downgrade from .30 to .26. That is why it is said to get NVFLASH which could be done on the earlier versions so if a corruption happened it could be restored. Once you are on 4.1.1 or 4.2.1 you are out of luck, like I was.

yeah haha, I'm sure it will have a hefty price tag too!
not to forget mentioning:
what's going to go on with updates to each OS, - how will that be administered?
How slow will it be when asus needs to pair those updates (if it does), i.e. android goes to 4.3, but windows not ready and stays same version.
how much space is left in the device after have Android in there as well as hefty windows OS?
how much support/attention will this get from developers - I don't see many. "bootloader? which one? how?"
Can one run a custom android rom while the other stays stock wondows?
many unknowns here (for us, not general user of course)
still a neat device = yes
do i really also need windows on my tablet, and do I need one larger than 10.1" = no
and asus can remove the 4k hdmi out of the new infinity and focus on I/O, I hope new owners dont get stuck like we did (and tf200 users).
first thing i'll be interested to see are the benchmarks. Thank goodness for sdbags and everyone who make the tablet (tf700) what it should have been, and probably better!
