Your not renaming them with a file manager are you?
I renamed some, adding clearer identification for reference etc, then forgot to remove the additions before restoring, and 4ext touch would get half way through a restore and then fail.
Obviously, all good once original file names were back.

Na I'm s-off and I did it on 4ext touch didn't change nothing just backed up, tried in cwm but nothing
Sent from my HTC Sensation XE with Beats Audio Z715e using xda app-developers app
ohh that might be the problem ..the backups of CWM will work on 4EXT ..but the vice-versa might not work as 4EXT supports EXT4 file system and its default and afaik CWM only supports until EXT3 ..(any one can correct me if im wrong coz im not sure about this )
Yeah but both don't work

Try to flash super wipe install Rom then flash a custom kernel for 3.33 Roms before you boot the Rom up FYI its best to use 4ext recovery if you don't have this I had the same problem and doing this seemed to fix it I flashed sense o maniac by the way

Viper has a kernel that if another one is flashed can break WiFi. Definitely will not be able to use hot spot.developer put a warning of this on page one. If you want hotspot is best to use kernel that came with Rom. Some reported WiFi not working after switching kernels . If your having WiFi issues, this is why. Hope this helps.

Hi,
You have not given very much information there.
Perhaps you have a flat battery.
Remove your sim card and sd card, then, leave to charge for 6 hours.

I'm sure we can help you as Malybru is among the best there are at diagnosing oddball problems like this. But you've got to be very specific about the issue as this is not a common problem with a known sure fire cure.
Walk us through exactly what happens and where it goes wrong. Don't think any detail is too small.
Does it start to load 4EXT then reboot? (You know, the screen that shows all the elementa of it loading) or doe snothing happen at all after selecting recovery?
What happened when you tried to reflash recovery? Other than "It didn't work"...
Is this only when booting into recovery from a powered off state? Does it happen when you reboot into recovery from the 4EXT app menu in the phone?
S-on? s-off?

Hi,
When you are having a problem with such a basic function,it is probably a good idea to start everything again from scratch.
Make backups of everything ,and run a RUU to wipe your phone and start afresh.
Look HERE
The RUU will put you back to stock radio, firmware, recovery and ROM.
From that point build it up again to what you want to have on your phone.

You can do it either way.
Sometimes it's just quicker to do it from the ROM menu.
