[Q] Your best screen on time? - HTC Sensation

Hello I am looking for what people have gotten for their best screen on time (from 100%).
Which rom/version were you using? Which battery were you using? What was your screen on time?
-Thanks
Latley I have been using cm9 and cm10 and batter life has sucked. CM10 gets me 1 hr 30 min max (with anker and evo3d battery). Was much better on sense gb and virtuous inquisition roms
Looking for actually numbers here not just which rom is best

Hi there, I just bought a mugen 3500mah battery , had it about 5 days now . With heavy use I'm still getting about 3 hours at 100% and the battery lasts all day, into late night and the lowest I've ever drained it was 42% into late night.that's about17 hours heavy use leaving 42% ! It's been amazing!! If you're looking for a better battery life, get a mugen 3500mah. I've tried Anker, chichitec, even the mugen 1900 but I've never had such great battery life as I get with the mugen 3500mah. There is one catch though, you have to change the back cover to fit the battery. It comes with the battery. It's not so bad, but it does make the phone thicker . For me it's totally worth it for the battery life I get! The cover fits perfectly without any trouble.this battery has made a world of difference for me ! I no longer worry about draining the battery!it's well worth the cost! So if battery life is important to you I highly recommend getting this battery! I'm also running viper Rom with PYDX-stable2 kernel. This kernel has been amazing! It's so fast and smooth! Viper has a lots of available customization in it. This is my choice. But when it comes to roms, I HIGHLY suggest you try out SEVERAL for yourself and form your own opinion on what's best for YOU. With roms it's a personal opinion and what suits me might not suit you. So don't just take opinions and try out SEVERAL for yourself and see what suits YOU best!! That's the fun part the experimenting and then form your OWN opinion. I hope this helps you out. Best wishes to you!

I usually get 5 hours of screen on time and about 24 hours of use. Using Viper S 1.3.0 and Anker. I think it's pretty good

i think your battery is dying.did you try to use another battery to see if it happens the same?
about battery life it depends from the usage that you are doing,UV mods, how mauch cpu oc.
me personally i'm using sebastianFM's kernel and i have a nice battery life
with normal usage it holds 3-4 days
Hi there I agree you need a new battery. I just received my new battery about a week ago. It's been Amazing! With heavy use I stay on 100% for two hours! I can use it all day into late night, approximately 19 hours of HEAVY use and still be on 42% and the battery is not fully conditioned yet! I've tried many batteries, Anker chichitec, etc.. but none of them can compare to this one. It's the mugen 3500mah battery. If you're serious about battery life, this is the battery to get. I wish I'd got mine sooner but I was trying to save a few bucks. I realized in the long run its worth it to buy the better battery. Yes it's expensive but it's honestly worth every penny to have long lasting battery and not worry about charging through out the day any more! It comes with a replacement back cover to fit the battery. Not to worry the case fits precisely and I still get a strong H signal and navigation without a single problem. The phone will be thicker but it feels good in my hands and I don't mind it being thicker. I'll take a thicker phone with this battery life any day! I ordered straight from mugen site because there are counterfeit ones and I wanted to be sure what I was getting. It talks about two weeks and it arrives registered mail. I can't tell you enough what a HUGE difference this battery has made! I highly recommend this battery! I did save up for it because 100 dollars is a lot of money for me but I can honestly say this battery is worth every penny and more! My biggest complaint was battery life and I'd tried everything to make it last longer but it never really made a significant difference. I'm so glad I have this battery! If you're looking for an answer to the short battery life, this 3500mah battery is the answer!! I'm a customer for life now! I highly recommend you getting this battery! Especially since you are needing a new battery.you won't regret it for a second! I know I don't! ! Best wishes

Strange because when I used ARHD I still had the battery issue on my device...it still was draining faster than it should. Now I'm running viper with pydx stable2 kernel. I have a extended battery so battery life is awesome. I've discovered a better battery really makes the difference! Finally with the mugen 3500 mah battery my battery life is great! Before I got it I tried EVERYTHING to achieve better battery life. Nothing was significantly helping. Finally I learned its in the battery its self.once I changed that I no longer had the battery drain problem. Hope this helps.

[Q] Opinion about baterry problem

Hi guys,
recently i used elegancia rom with bricked kernel and when i play game like Backstab HD my baterry getting drain like a crazy, for 30 minutes baterry went - 35 % is this normal?.
I switched ARHD rom ,Vipers same thing , changed bricked, faux, ccc, sebastianfm kernel but again same problem.

Have you tried using a extended battery?I was suffering with the same issue.I purchased a mugen 3600mah
and now with heavy use I can get two days out of my battery. I'd tried everything before to stop the drain but nothing was working. I tried settings, kernels, different roms. Still had the drain. This was really the solution for me! I'd tried other batteries but still was not satisfied until I got the big one. I can't stress enough what a difference it made!it did make my phone thicker but for' the battery life it is totally worth it! If the big battery is too much for you then try Anker it's a good extended battery. And it is not thick. A good battery makes all the difference ! Be careful when you buy because so many counterfeit ones are being sold. If you get a good battery, your not going to have to worry about drain .it solved my battery drain problem. You might want to try getting a Anker or mugen. Both Are excellent batteries.

Yep, totally agree with this, I can personally recommend the Anker battery. I now get 1/1 and a half days battery life with heavy use. The anker battery really isn't that much from amazon and is coming from a reputable source. I was also experiencing the same battery drains as you were before changing batteries.

i've got an anker battery, too, but my battery life is still not good.
i'm on fw 3.33 and i'm using arhd 6.7.2 with faux kernel underclocked to 918 mhz and undervolted -125.
what rom and kernel are you usin, to get good battery life?
Anker wasn't enough juice for me because I am a HEAVY user. This is why I went to mugen. I can confirm two days of use with heavy use out of the mugen 3800mah battery . I was more concerned about battery life than about my phone being a bit thicker so it did not bother me at all to go to the bigger battery. It solved my problems with battery drain and had proven to be a awesome solution ! I did have to save up for the battery because it is not cheap at 95 dollars. However honestly, for me, it's worth every penny. They have new backs now with better antenna and you don't have to worry about signal issues either. If your a HEAVY user I highly recommend this battery! If your a moderate user I recommend Anker. It's such a great feeling to finally not have to worry about battery life. Just beware of counterfeit and if you decide to order one get it directly from company because they're so many scam batteries going Around! They place a sticker over the fake battery making it look like its the real thing! With batteries you have to be really careful now. Order from the company when ever you order.

[Q] Battery Problem

Hello guys,
I am currently using CM10 RC with default kernel.
The problem i have is my battery doesn't charge properly. I'm using the default battery that came with the phone.
I plug in my phone to the USB cable(usually HTC default but i sometimes use blackberry's one).
My battery never reaches 100%. Everytime i plug it in for 3-4 hrs for charging, after that it just reads somewhere 60-90% but not more than that. If i reboot, it shows 100%. It takes from 20-30 mins for increasing 1% after reaching those levels, and gets stuck somewhere in between.
The problem is, sometimes my battery drains extremely fast, and sometimes drains normally but in both case using phone for same tasks.
Not sure if its battery problem or phone itself or ROM issues.
I am actually having the same problem in all the roms i try (sense, nonsense, sense4, aosp, miui sense or miui aosp.)
Any suggestions?
Hi there, yes it sounds like its time for a new battery. I was having terrible draining issues and I got a new battery it fixed my issues .I got a mugen 3800mah and now I get two days with heavy use out of my device! Most don't want that large of a battery but i'm a heavy user and its what I needed. If you don't need that much battery try Anker. It's a great extended life battery that also works very well ! Most people prefer the Anker. You can find both batteries online. The mugen is about 95 dollars where as the Anker is about 15 dollars. I do think you will see a significant difference with either battery. Both Are extended batteries. I personally wanted the big battery because I'm a heavy user but I had used Anker before I got the big battery and both are very good! I think this will help your situation. I wish you the best! Hope this helps. I know it helped me with my battery drain problem. Best of luck!

thanks buddy! I'm in india, and to be true, i dont trust the quality of goods u get here. thinking of buying Anker 1900 mah battery from their store.
BTW just asking, does that battery cover u got with mugen battery solve that infamous Wifi signal loss on holding senny on middle right side on the back?
Hi their, I do know that the back I got for my battery is the new back mugenbattery came out with for better signal. This contains antennas to help. I personally haven't experienced the death grip your speaking of but believe or not even with sensation stock back I never experiencedd the death grip.. .I've heard others speak of it but I must not be holding my device in a way to replacate the death grip. So I can not answer that question because I've never experienced the death grip with either cover. I can say the new covers provide a great signal for the device. Never had a signal problem with it. Everything works as it should. Navagation, wet Wi-Fi, 4g, it all works perfectly. If your interested in buying a mugenbattery, make sure that you get the new cover with the antennas and Not the old cover! Best wishes to

Battery too weak?

Hello XDA Community, i'm a HTC Sensation owner and i got it from service 3 days ago (the phone had really frequent shutdowns and the battery only lasted like 2 hours even without using it). Altough it doesn't have those problems i experience a really weak battery... As you can see from the photos i only had a 9h and 20 minutes lifetime from 100%, with only 2 hours and 7 minutes Screen On... Today i played games around 1 hour, used the internet 5-10 minutes , talked for like 1 minute and sent 5 messages. Is it normal that a 1520 mAh battery drains so fast?
I had the same problem when I first got my Sensation. Mine was used, so the battery was already a year old, but the phone was mint. I had the same terrible drain as you have, and I hardly used mine during the day. I rooted it and tried a few ROM's, and found that so far, anything based on Bruce's CM10 gives the best battery life. Will defiantly be try the Viper ROM today though.
If you don't want to root, I would pick up one of these:
http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0053EZJMC/
I'm going to be trying one out myself.

Hi I had same issue, tried Anker it was a good battery but I still needed more juice . I went to Mugen 3800mah battery. Now with HEAVY use I get more than 24 hours use out of one charge! I can't stress enough what a difference this battery has made for me! Yes it is expensive but for me it was worth every cent! I am a heavy user of my device and rely on it for everything from navigation to internet to gaming. This is a serious battery , it solved all my battery drain issues ! One thing through, it does make you're device a bit thicker but it still fits in pocket and feels good in my hand. For me, battery life is what I'm after so I don't at all mind the thicker phone I'm not in a beauty contest, I wanted results! This battery delivers. If your a moderate user you might not need so much juice but if you're a heavy user like I am this battery is the answer! It will not disappoint! If you find Anker is not providing enough juice and want more time on battery, do consider Mugen 3800mah. You won't worry about running out of battery Again! This battery with HEAVY use will still be on 100% two hours later!! My biggest issue was battery drain and this battery solved that problem for me. Like I mentioned its not for everyone because it will make device thicker but if you're serious about battery life it's the way to go! So depending on your use this might be an other option for you. If you use your device heavily, I highly recommend this battery. Best wishes to you!

Thanks for the tip... I'm not such a heavy user of my phone but atm its still unbealiveable short on it's life. If i would take it out of the charger at 100% and play 1 and a half hour it will get to 1%...
Have you gave Anker a try? Most people here really like Anker and its given great extended battery. It's very affordable and I think it would be a wonderful solution to your issue.battery will make a big difference. You will see. My stock battery was absolutely pathetic. After I switched it was like night And day a huge difference! I believe Anker is only about 10 to 15 dollars and you won't regret switching. This is one solution to your issue. Best wishes. You can also try changing kernels and see if that helps but I think a Anker battery will really help in your situation.

Just thought I'd put my two cents in...
Whilst a higher capacity battery will help to some extent, IMHO it's like buying a bigger hose instead of fixing the hole in the bucket.
To clarify, I do actually own an Anker 1900mAh battery as well as the stock battery, but only because it was cheap and I was interested to see how much difference it made. I switch between the two on a regular basis. I can't deny the Anker certainly has a better cycle length than stock, but as I was already achieving well in excess of a full day's use on stock battery the benefit to me was negligible.
Another clarification, I'm not one of those people who will refuse to use their phone all day and then crow about their "amazing" battery life. You buy a smartphone because you want to use it. Mine is a work phone and as such is well used every day, making/receiving calls and texts, camera shots, VPN access etc. Then there's my personal use, web browsing, eBay, bluetooth audio every time I get in the car or work truck, e-books, games and so on. Not to labour the point but the phone comes off the charger at 6 am every work day and always has some life left when it goes back on the charger at 10 or 11 pm.
I guess, partly because of what I do for a job, I'm not a fan of "bigger hammer" solutions. There is a wealth of information here on XDA and you can greatly increase your battery life and cost you nothing but a bit of time spent reading. For a start I'd suggest looking into Battery Monitor Widget and/or Better Battery Stats (this thread).
I don't know if you're rooted or not, there are huge gains to be made with rooting and the possibilities that come with that. However, my wife's completely stock One S had absolutely atrocious battery life out of the box, and of course no possibility of increasing battery capacity, but with a few tweaks and better understanding she can still get a day's use out of her phone.
Sorry for the lengthy reply, but I see a lot of "get a bigger battery" responses to these questions when there are other options you can explore

Which ROM seems to get the best battery life?

I was really pleased with Hyper NonSense but there were a couple bugs I couldn't tolerate anymore. I'm on XenonHD now and the battery life is horrendous. What ROM seems to work best for everyone?
For starters, get an anker. After a few cycles you will notice a huge difference in battery life.
All ROMs are going to be very similar in battery life. There's not a "super" ROM that can last all day and one that can last 3 hours.
My point is, all ROMs are about the same in battery life. An anker will greatly increase the battery life, no matter what ROM.

I actually do have an anker already. The hyper nonsense would last me more than a day sometimes and easily about 16 hours with moderate use but this rom so far cant last 8 hours with use.
Well, 16 hours of use is not bad. What about your on screen time?
I would also try albino's ROM. it doesn't get extreme battery life, but it is decent.
Inspiration ROM also is battery friendly.
Sent from my Ouya
For me, the best battery life came from Cyanogenmod 10.1 with stock clock speeds.
ARHD on stock kernel is good for buttery.
INSPIRATION not looks good, but now I am testing it with Badass governor. will report back if good.
Don't forget that you need a few full charge cycles to be accurate. What first can look like a crappy battery life, after a day or two can last a LOT longer.
Usually kernels based of the official htc tend to last longer, like SebastianFM kernel, Bricked kernel, and BanB has also a stock one with overclock.
Sent from mt Gameboy Advance using xda poor edition
Teambridge rom is the best. Fast smooth and best batterylife i had*(have?) ever seen
I think Android Revolution HD is one of the best ROM. With stock kernel you have a good battery-saving. By the way I think that stock kernel is a little laggy for my taste, so I use custom kernels (like Sultan or Faux) that drain more battery but sure speed my phone!
I have used VIPERS 1.6.3 for a while now but with Sultans 17.5 kernel. With the help of greenify I have managed to get the battery to last for 1d16h with around 2-3hrs of screen-on.
I also use an ANKER battery and not the stock as the stock one died on me!
I have been told that NON-SENSE ROMs have better battery life, but this VIPERS 1.6.3 and SULTAN kernel seems to be a homerun for me!
OK first it's impossible for all rooms to take the same battery life they all use different default kernels and tweaks which are aimed at performance vs battery vs looks. I found inspiration to be the best so far darksense is great too
