What version of JB do I need for my Nexus S? - Nexus S Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi guys,
I have a UK amoled nexus s.
Im running CM9 stable w/ clockworkmod.
My phone is labeled as 'GT-I9020'.
Can anyone confirm what version of the official/genuine Jellybean distro I need?
Also, I take it I need to restore to the official/genuine/signed version of ICS to do the upgrade?
Thanks

I upgraded to CM10-M1 and love it.

Nexus s - overcoming status 7 when running OTA update to Jelly Bean

Hi Folks!
I am retuning newbie to the XDA forum but, I cut my teeth on the original XDA... But, Android is a new arena...
I have Nexus S - i9020 - no suffix, GSM, purchased in the UK.
1. I am currently running a rooted installation of ICE 4.0.4. The recent OTA update to Jelly Bean failed with a status 7 - from my research, it's probably because I am running rooted - ?
2. I tried to return to stock state and that's where a bewildering array of stock images where suggested on other threads on this forum. The problem is; where can I find a stock ICE ROM for my i9020 device?
3. Incidentally, it would be good if somebody could provide a breakdown of model number and whether stock ROMs are interchangeable?
4. If I inadvertently try to flash an incorrect ROM, will the checks stop the process or do I run the risk of bricked device?
Thanks for your attention.

Thanks for the reply.
I fixed the problem using the "international" ROM version of stock ICS 4.0.4 ROM - I flash that to unroot the phone, then applied OTA update.
Thanks again.

Anyone know where I could get a stock 2.3.7 zip that is rooted?

I'd like to try something and I need 2.3.7...

Since you're with Sprint, I assume that you need the NS 4g version. Pete has them listed here ...

[Q] How to update Nexus S model i9023 to 4.2.1

Hello,
I have Samsung Google Nexus S currently with 4.1.2 android version. My phone model is i9023. I have found a post where for model number i9200, 4.2.1 is available. Is there any update available for i9023 as well? I am disparately looking forward for the update. Please help :crying:
Now Google don't do updates for Nexus S.
If you want 4.2.1 then you need unofficial ROMs

Installing custom ROM on Unlocked P925

Hi,
I have an old P925.
it was locked to AT&T,
I unlocked it from a shop (I don't know what he did to unlock)
Currently the phone is on GB with no root (so all AT&T bloatware is there)
I would like to flash a JB rom on it,
how should I proceed?
can anybody point me in the right direction?
thanks in advance.

Check this:

FYI You will lose 3D function with JB ROMs; devs have not ported 3D to JB yet. Most of the newer ICS ROMs for this device keep 3D function because they are based on ICS released by LG.
Ok, thanks, then I'll update to ics instead of JB,
well, a 3D phone without 3D is no use :sly:
