There are variations of that device so we'll never know which one you have till you say so . Also, there will be many great ROMs and the choice will be user preference, so its best for you to choose one yourself .

Cant agree more....device is fine OS is also good and smooth only -ve is less no. of apps....
Can anyone suggest me good apps/games...

If anyone knows of or is in production of a custom ROM please let me know. I have mine rooted with CWM, so if you need any stock files let me know and Ivan send them over! I would love to have something for this make. I see there are plenty of option for the pxxxx or gtxxx models. But nothing for the SGHxxx variants.

I have one too and I can't believe there is no development for this thing. If there is no dev for it soon, the next new thing will bump it off the AT&T shelf and all we'll have is a rooted stock Tab 2 or the opportunity to buy something else.
Im sorry but there is seriously only one dev for any SGHXXX device. And he only supports the 7" one. Sorry guys. Besides, why not get a Nexus 7 or wait for the new Nexus 7.7?

How did you get yours rooted? I have tried a number of different ways and never could get it rooted. I have searched XDA for it as well but no luck.

i found a great ROM for this tablet its a 4.1.2 ROM but i can get a lot of the features from the newer Roms you just can install a rooted app and install them i can get the link to the ROM if anyone would like. its a stock ROM but its amazing

I'm also looking for any usable rom apart from stock. I have an sph-p500 which is technically the same as sgh-i497 but found no roms at all. any help appreciated. all rom links are broken. I know the device is pretty old but I don't want to shred it.

There is no such thing as 'best' in regards to ROM, Kernel or an app. The thing is you should have to try the ROMs available and decide the best that suits your needs. Cheers.

I would say, go to Galaxy Y Duos S6102 Android Development section, and see the ROM threads, look for screenshots(if available), read user reviews and if you are satisfied by it, install it. Its as simple as that.
The point is, if you ask this to five different persons who uses different ROMs, opinions vary. So its best to try for ourselves and see for ourselves. Cheers.

Why r the developers not looking at this phone
I also own an lg F160 I have installed custom ROM namely nvp .
There r 13 custom ROMs for this phone .

Hey, i recently got this device(SM-N9007) so im just introducing myself around this sub-forum
You may have seen me recently around the Amlogic based Android TV forums aswell as the Galaxy S3 forum where i almost completely ported the S5 UI to the Galaxy S3(Revolutionary S5 ROM).
I look forward to making ROMs and kernels for this device and speaking/working with some of you!
Step 1.. lets drop the old samsung UI and get with the times!
Step 2.. Probably a kernel.
Step 3.. An easier alternative to root.

Hi, welcome. Can you make SystemUI for stock based roms? I am using Audax rom. I dont like pull down menu, quick setting menu. A cumtom theme will be good.

From what i can tell i may be able to use one rom for both with installer script modifcation
