Does unroot needed before flashing new firmware? - Galaxy Note 10.1 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Guys...
I have read several post. Some said needed to unroot before flashing new firmware. Some survive without unrooting.
On my N7000, i don't need to unroot to flash new firmware.
Is it different with note 10.1?
Do i really need to unroot my N8000 before flashing new firmware? Or just use mobile odin pro or odin pc, with device still under root?
Or the unroot only need for OTA?
Thanks!

No one knows abt this?

Root probably doesn't matter. Clockworkmod might brick your device

So...
Before i upgrade, i would need to flash stock kernel?
Why is it different from the phablet?
Can't the new firmware replaced itself the stock kernel when i flash?

Hmmm...
Am I the only confused guy here, all evryone is confused also ?

[Req] Hong Kong stock Rom

I recently noticed a hardware defect in my lovely big note, so I'm trying to go back to the official hk Rom for taking it back to Samsung for a body check. (Four small areas at the sides of the screen have no response to s-pen, flashed different Roms before I confirmed it is a hardware problem.)
I have done a NANDROID back up right after I have rooted it but somehow the backup doesn't work! (CWM shows a error when restoring /system).
Could anyone post a stock Rom please?

Just remember not to tick root injection in mobile odin else it would be a rooted stock firmware.

Help with unrooting samsung galaxy tab2 7.0

HELLO I WOULD LIKE TO UNROOT MY SAMSUNG GALAXY TAB 2 7.0.MODEL-GT-P3113 ANDROID 4.1.1..YESTERDAY I FOLLOWED (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1887757&highlight=rooting+4+1+1) GUIDE TO ROOTING AND GOT IT,,WHATS THE BEST AND EASIEST WAY TO UNROOT MY DEVICE?
The easiest way to unroot your tab is..
Reflashing your ROM.
Dont forget to clear your binary counter
Flash the latest firmware of your region,
From sammobile,
Flash it from mobile /pc odin,
You would be on the stock unrooted locked

FIRMWARE UPDATE PDA:MC2 / CSC:MC2 (XAR) 4/11/2013 What is this?

As stated above I just received an update to my 8013 which was already running 4.1.2. Does anyone know what this is? Once updating I lost root and have yet to find a way to re-root. The method i was trying previously fails each time. this way : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cv8440QhHsw
Anyone know what this update is/does and how to re root once updated? Thanks
My note downloaded this overnight and I installed it today. I suspect these may be more minor security tweeks. Lookout reported that 3 apps (screensaver and two others, not individually identified) were updated and were safe. I've not noticed any significant changes.
Were you able to obtain root? And if so how?
Sorry, I'm not rooted. Were you using the one-click method?
I am rooted. I used mobile odin pro to install firmware. I set it to inject root, mobile odin, su. Cannot see differences yet, but still rooted.

You just root the same way you did previously. It should work fine.
Is there anyway to update and keep root? Has anyone tried this update with mobile odin pro's "ever-root" feature? I would prefer not have to use the original method I used to root because it increases flash count and it's annoying to have to go through the process of removing the count.
Or could someone upload an odexed completely stock version?

first page of this thread bro
http://forum.xda-developers.com/show....php?t=2227512
as for your triangle count, thats easy. Just use TRIANGLE AWAY from the play store...
I had already read the first post but it didn't say anything about having tried to use mobile odin to update and keep root which is why I posted my question. Plus as I mentioned I would prefer not to have to go through the whole triangle away process. I always wind up having to flash a new firmware and do a complete restore in order to remove the 1 binary count even after using triangle away. That's a short explanation of the whole process I always have to go through and it takes a long time.
If it was quick, I wouldn't be asking how to update and keep root.
#update
Tried CF ROOT again today... It worked! Now Rooted!

We don't have 4.2.2 firmware...?

ITs a very big problem. It sounds like you have fallen into a temporal anomaly. I suggest you hit warp 9.9 and slingshot back to our time frame , where stock is 4.1.2.
THen tell us what you installed to invoke the temporal anomaly and maybe we can help.

OK there isn't a 4.2.2 firmware available yet for this phone unless you have the international version of the device. If that's the case then you are in the wrong thread.
I used to feel sorry for those that flashed an international rom on the Verizon model of the s3 but after seeing all the threads from people doing it I just laugh now and wonder when they will learn to read the device titles.

He might have installed CM or AOKP. In any case b4 you start flashing ROMs on your phone you should know which carrier you are with and what is your phone model, there are 5-6 different models. Each carrier has his model plus the euro I-9300. Then flash the appropriate rom for the phone or carrier, also have backups of the stock ROMs for ODIN if anything like this happens again. And PLEASE read and read and read b4 you flash again.

[Q] Is touchwiz still possible?

Wondering if I make the jump via ODIN, will I still be able to use TouchWiz?

Don't really understand, sorry.
But only a guess what you really ask;
If you flash official firmware manually with Odin, TW will remain untouched and the default launcher, unless you instal an alternative launcher from Google Play and set it as default.

however, if I do flash an official firmware, will I loose my warranty?? (I am deciding between a brand new one and used one)

I'm no expert on regional warranty, but I see no reason why you should lose warranty. After all, the firmware is an official release....
